PROLOGUE – LIGHT, DARKNESS AND LIFE
No one knows how the universe came to be. Not even the wisest can tell. All we know is that the universe's basis is balance.
The balance is the foundation of the universe; the core of its very existence. Without it, chaos will reign, and all we know will disappear into oblivion.
But what is balance? Which are the elements that compose the balance?
Everything in the universe has an opposite. The universe is made of two parts; one mirrors the other one. All galaxies, all stars, all worlds, and all objects are made of two basic elements. Two elements that are always competing and fighting for power, yet they need to be together to exist. These two universe's halves are good and evil. Light and darkness.
However, a third element keeps light and darkness from destroying themselves. The light and dark sides of all objects are kept separated by the life. Everything in the universe has life; a barrier that keeps light and darkness balanced.
So what is the difference between a stone and a Goron? Why the stone can't move, eat, or think? What is the reason the Goron can do those things?
All objects, all matter is made of three essential elements: light, darkness and life. The difference between a stone and a Goron is the quantity of life that separates their light and dark sides. The more life separates light and darkness, the more complex the object becomes. Once this object has enough life within, it can move, eat, or even think and be self aware.
These three elements keep the universe balanced. Nevertheless, the rational and self aware creatures can be seduced by their light or dark sides, which could have terribly consequences on the delicate balance . . .
