!Wrapped in each other's arms!

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter!

A/N: This is my first fan fiction that I have put on a site, so don't be too harsh. This takes place the summer before their 7th year.

Laughing, screaming, and even more laughing is all that could be heard from the Weasley kitchen on that warm night in July. Hermione had come to spend the summer in the Burrow, while her parents went to visit old friends.

Ron had mentioned to her that he had never been able to cook well. He left all the cooking up to Mrs. Weasley, and the house was fine with that. She told him that they could make some sugar cookies. He was apprehensive at first, but she told him that she would help him, and that it really wasn't that hard. He complied.

"No Ron, don't put so much in one spot. Your cookies will be huge!" Hermione said.

"That's the way I like 'em!" Ron said, laughing.

They finished putting the cookie dough on the cookie sheet and put them in the oven. The house was quite. The family and Harry went to visit Fred and George at their new flat. Ron and Hermione plopped down at the kitchen table.

Hermione in the mist of all the laughing had gotten some flour on her cheek. Her hair was starting to fall from the loose ponytail that she had quickly tied it up in. Ron thought that she looked beautiful.

"What are you looking at?" she asked suspiciously.

"You. Just you." He said. His voice was full of confidence, but that was about it.

She blushed under his gaze. He gave a small smile.

He leaned forward. "You have a little something on your face…"

She, too, leaned forward.

His hand connected with her face and they both felt it. That spark. They knew it was there. They knew it had been there for a while.

Opportunity is knocking. Are you going to answer?

His hand moved from her cheek to the back of her neck. His other was finding its way to her back. She wrapped her arms around him. They both leaned in. Their lips met. The kiss was everything they had expected and more. Finally, after a couple of minutes, they broke apart.

"Wow." Was all Ron could say, and he leaned in again for another kiss.

The Weasley's and Harry returned to the house a couple of hours later. The smell was the first thing they noticed. It smelled of burnt cookies. They went to the kitchen, and on top of the stove were a dozen black cookies. The moved from the kitchen to the living room, where they found a sleeping couple. Wrapped in each other's arms.
