BLOODY LULLABY

DISCLAIMER: It's so sad. I don't own any of the characters in this story, but oh how I wish I did. : D Sesshomaru is FINE! Hehehe
As the smoke began to drift away, the Demon Lord looked over the ruins. Bodies lay scattered over the ground. His gaze focused on Jaken crouching over a body. Raising an eyebrow he wondered over. Suddenly he stopped. As Jaken moved away, looking unusually upset, Sesshomaru stared at a bloody Rin.
"My Lord-" Jaken began, but hushed when Sesshomaru knelt by the human child. He scolded himself silently. He promised himself he wouldn't get attached to the human, but he broke his promise, and he knew it. He turned his gaze onto Jaken.
"You will dig a grave in the gardens. Now!" He growled. Rin never did like it when he yelled. He unsheated the Tensaiga once Jaken was gone and looked from it to Rin. He lifted her up slightly and attempted to revive her, but it seemed that the sword was refusing her.
"Cursed sword!" He mumbled as the reality set in, that she was in fact, dead. He stood and looked down at her lifeless form at his feet.
Playground school bell rings, again
Rain clouds come to play, again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
He looked around, there was no one there but him and Rin. A clap of thunder sounded loudly overhead. He gathered Rin in his arms. She hated the darkness of thunder storms, and the storms themselves. He wouldn't leave her. The Demon Lord shook his head. Why was he acting like this? Surely he was going insane.
Hello
I am your mind
Giving you someone to talk to
Hello
He pulled her closer as it began to rain. Once inside the gardens he knelt with her, and held her close. He could swear he heard her calling his name.
"It's alright Rin. I'm here." He said, his voice trembling. He was dreaming, she was still full of life and running through the gardens at this very moment. He smiled slightly as he forced himself to believe this lie.
IF I smile and don't believe
Soon I know I'll wake
From this dream
Don't try to fix me I'm not broken
Hello
He looked at her and felt tears burning his eyes. He looked away, telling himself not to cry, she was just sleeping. He let out a mournful yell and buried his face in her hair, sobbing. Sesshomaru knew it was silly and foolish, but he loved her. She was like his child, and he loved her. She wasn't gone, she couldn't be gone.
I am the lie living for you
So you can hide
Don't cry
The rain came down much harder now, and he huddled over her.
"My Lord, you should come in now." Jaken said quietly as he hobbled over.
"I'm not leaving Rin. I can't bear to hear her cry. She's scared of the storm." Sesshomaru said looking up at him. Jaken opened his mouth to protest, but closed it, seeing the look in his master's eyes and nodded, leaving. The storm soon ended and the sun dimly began to light up the evening sky. He laid her carefully by her prized rose bushses. He sat there for a while, talking to her quietly before hesitantly kissing her on the forehead and rising to his feet. It wasn't a dream, Rin was gone. He looked at her once more before turning and leaving, his cold demon heart torn painfully apart. It could never heal from such a great loss. He couldn't brign himself to look back. He promised himself, that he would never again, learn to love.
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello
I'm still here
All that's left of yesterday
((It's so sad how such a happy story to begin with can end so miserably. I hope you enjoyed it. Please review.))
