I do not own Harry Potter or the Vampire Diaries.

Full summary:

Delilah stood in the Great Hall victorious as her two best friends joined her hand in hand however an urgent call from her younger sister sent her back to her hometown Mystic Falls where she meets the Salvatore brothers. Their disbelief at who and what she is, pushes her to make a decision that might change fate forever, what will happen when the brothers and her siblings are sucked into her mind and forced to watch everything she's been through. Oh did I forget to mention who she is, sorry, my bad, her name is Delilah Gilbert Potter and this is her story.

Delilah Potter stood in the Great Hall grasping at a shallow wound in her side and gazed at the many corpses littered around, the grieving faces of loved ones and the blinding relief and victory in others. It was a long and arduous journey that had finally gotten her here but in some twisted way it was all worth it now to finally feel free.

Her gaze travelled to the entrance as her two best friends walked in hand in hand and she smiled teasingly at them whilst hiding the wound, she'll deal with it later, and called out "About time you guys, honestly your longing glances at each other was adorable at first but became downright nauseating after a while"

"Lilah" They both called, an embarrassed flush lighting up their faces as laughter scattered round from those nearby, Ron's almost on par with his hair and the thought sent a pang through her as she remembered cradling the red hair of one of her pranksters in crime crying as she looked into the empty eyes of the other.

"Must you, Lilah" Hermione scolded jolting her out of her grief-stricken thoughts of yet another death.

"Yes I very well must, it is my sacred duty as your best friend to annoy and embarrass the living daylights out of you and from the looks of it, I could possibly fry an egg on both your faces so I'd say mission accomplished." Delilah proclaimed as there faces now resembled tomatoes and the laughter from both students and teachers alike became more pronounced even Filch could never hold back a smile at my humour, one of the many things she was known for.

"I swear to Merlin Lilah when you get a man of your own I am going to tell him the most embarrassing stories of you that you'll regret ever teasing us" Hermione threatened as the rest of the Great Hall witnessed yet another one of our many banter/arguments.

"You wouldn't. That's hardly fair because every embarrassing story I have of you there'll be no point telling to Ron because he was there for all of them." Lilah whined as everyone laughed at her and she pouted adorably.

"Well that'll teach you to be more polite to your best friends Lilah" Hermione said playfully with amusement shining in her eyes at my disgruntled expression.

"Excuse me, I am polite, in fact I am the most polite person you'll ever meet" everyone snorted and she gasped offended, "Come on Ron back me up here" Lilah turned towards him who looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Uh.. Well.. Um.. You're " He stuttered as he looked between his best friend and his girlfriend as he made a choice, either way he was going to die might as well get Lilah back for embarrassing him, "I'm with Hermione on this one and from the sounds of it, the rest of the people here too" he said.

Lilah gasped dramatically a hand splayed over her heart "The treachery! Oh the betrayal! My own best friends turning against me. It's too much for my poor poor heart. I can feel it, it's fading! I see the light. Oh Good Merlin take me now and relieve me from my pain and suffering" she proclaimed full of theatrics as everyone including her best friends were in hysterics over her acting.

"Lilah, I swear to Merlin what are we going to do with you" Hermione said through her laughs as she tried to calm down whilst leaning on Ron for support who wasn't in a better state himself. She may act exasperated and annoyed with Lilah at times but she was the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for, she always knew how to make her laugh no matter what, like the time in the tent when Ron had left them over the horcruxes' influence she had cheered her up by singing and dancing with her. She loves her like the sister she always wished she had and she was honest to Merlin glad that after everything she's been through she's still able to joke around and have fun, most people would be bitter about everything after her roller coaster of a life but the one thing she's always admired about Lilah and always will is her courage to get through everything and whilst at times not coming out unscathed, she always, somehow manages to get even stronger.

"You are going to love me till the end of time, of course, I'm just that awesome" Lilah proclaimed as she hooked her arms through her friends and led them out the great hall amidst the amused chuckles of the student and staff as they watched their saviour with admiration and fondness.

Just as she was about to speak to her friends a little more to dig for more info about the sudden change in their relationship she got a call from her smartwatch that she keeps on her at all times just in case. She was surprised it was actually still intact, though she was really thankful it was, both her and Hermione had slaved over the watch for months to get it to work and since they were the two brightest witches of their age they somehow had managed to work electricity with magic. They hadn't told anyone yet, she might, though preferably after her fame dies down a bit but from the looks of it that wasn't happening anytime soon.

She made the watch specifically to be in contact with the only two people who would ever contact her outside of the wizarding world, just to make sure they were safe. She was really eager to hear from them and her best friends realising who she was talking to gave her some space. She picked up the call at rapid pace, a little worried that something had happened, she had wanted to give them things for their protection, but since she was on the run at the time she found out about everything going on back home she couldn't really do anything. She had been worried all the time as her siblings had found a new tendency of getting into a lot of trouble from what she's heard.

"Lilah?" Elena questioned as she held her phone and called the one person she knew would be able to help them. Jeremy, who was sat on his bed still contemplating everything his sister told him suddenly perked up at the mention of his big sister. She had come up here to tell Jeremy everything and as she sat with her 15 year old brother, she looked at him and realised that she was in over her head, she didn't know what to do and one thing her sister taught her was to not put all of your faith in others because if for some reason they are not there, you will feel completely helpless so you need to have faith in yourself first then put faith in others. She couldn't put all her faith in the brothers downstairs, she has to think rationally of the best way to protect herself and most importantly her brother and she knew just the person to call who had time and time again been there for her whenever she felt like this. Helpless. She needed her big sister. She had kept her informed of everything that has happened since Lilah had already told both her and Jeremy years ago of the wizarding world so she was already familiar with the supernatural. She's the only one who could help her family.

"Hey Lena baby, miss me" She called out teasingly.

"Hey Lilah you have no idea how good it is to hear you" Elena said with a smile on her face, her sister could always make her smile no matter what was going on in her mind, she moved the phone away as Jeremy tried to snatch it from her eager to hear Lilah, his favorite sister, so she put it on speaker.

"Lilah! I've missed you so much you have no idea how horrible it is stuck in a house with only her and Aunt Jenna for company. I've seriously missed you like crazy. How are you? I haven't heard from you in a while, I was worried." Jeremy rambled excitedly as he finally had a chance of speaking to his sister.

"Hey Jerbear I'm fine and I've missed you too, both you and Lena, and don't be dramatic I'm sure it wasn't that bad living with them. I'll fill you both in later on what's happened here after you tell me what the problem is, I can tell there's something bothering the both of you from your voices, you sound exhausted. Is everything alright?" Lilah asked worried for her younger siblings who were both caught up in things they shouldn't be, she had wanted to be there for them but with everything going on here she couldn't no matter how much she just wanted to be there.

"It's sort of complicated Lilah, remember I told you I was adopted and apparently have an ancestor named Katherine who looks exactly like me" Elena started to explain.

"Yeah can't forget that, that was a shock to the system, did not see that coming. I thought it was just me" Delilah said as she remembered her sister crying over the phone as she told her everything and she had hurried, after the shock wore down, of course, to reassure her sister that it doesn't change anything, family forever, she had reminded her just like Lena had done for her when she had found out about her birth parents, Lily and James Potter, when Professor Mcgonagall had come to visit when she had turned 11.

"Yeah neither did I but the problem is that she's back and she's invited in, Stefan and Damon are trying to protect us but Lilah, we can't do this without you, we need your help, she's already hurt John and..." Elena was explaining before she was cut off.

"Wait what? Uncle John's hurt? Is he okay?" Delilah asked worriedly. She cared about him, yes, he can be a bit of an ass at times but she cared about him since besides Aunt Jenna he was the only adult figure in her family who hadn't turned their backs on her when they found out about her heritage. In fact they both had been intrigued and curious and she had spent more time with them then with her parents until their death, she even slipped up and called him dad once when she was younger, he didn't mind at all, he knew how Grayson and Miranda had treated her. Both her parents hadn't taken her witch heritage in a good way at all, they became even more distant with her until even talking with them felt like talking to strangers and calling them mom and dad was said to stop people from asking questions instead of any affection. Their death hadn't affected her that much at all but she was there for her siblings even if it was only through calls or letters.

"Yeah he's fine, he's in the hospital right now but he's fine" Elena reassured knowing her sister cared for John and she also knew the reason why so she tried to be civil with him for her sake and because she was grateful that he didn't treat Lilah like her parents had.

"Oh good thank Merlin!" Delilah sighed in relief, she refused to lose anyone else today, she didn't think she could take it after watching so many people she had cared about die today. Uncle Sev, Uncle Moony, Dora and Freddy. It was already getting to her but she refused to break down now that she needed to help her siblings.

"Yeah, Katherine had stabbed him and cut off at least 3 fingers so he was in a bad state but I called the ambulance in time." Elena explained.

"She did what! That psychotic hag! No offence to you or anything since you look alike" Delilah rushed to explain as she realised she might have insulted her sister as well while internally sighing in frustration at the fact that she can't insult her looks because that would mean insulting Lena.

"Lilah it's fine insult her all you want I don't mind, I know that whatever you say to her has nothing to do with how you see me besides she deserves that and more" Elena reassured he sister whilst finding it amusing that her sister called a 500 year old vampire a psychotic hag but that's her sister for you never one to care what others think.

"Yeah Elena's right, say all you want about Katherine I'm sure whatever you come up with would be hilarious" Jeremy added in as he listened in on their conversation, his sister has the nastiest tongue he's ever seen when she uses it against those she dislikes, it's fun to watch, however, not so much fun when it's directed at you.

"Of course they would be, I am after all the greatest comedian to ever walk this earth." Delilah announced in a grand voice.

Jeremy dissolved into chuckles at her humour that he had missed, he could have used that in the past few months. Elena also smiled, she had honestly missed her sister, she never felt more safe than when she was by her side, which is what she needs now, to feel safe.

"Lilah I know it's a lot to ask of you because of what's going on there because of Voldemort but is there any way you can make it home for just a little while, we kind of need our big sister, I have no idea what I'm doing right now and since Jeremy is now involved, I don't know what to do" Elena said in a tired and stressed out voice.

"Oh that reminds me I need to tell you the big news, Voldemort's dead, he's finally gone and I'm finally free so yes of course I'd come back home, I can't wait" Delilah said enthusiastically trying to ease her sister's worry that she could hear from her voice.

"Really! Does that mean you defeated him? I knew you would! This is great! Does that mean you're going to stay this time?" Jeremy cut in hopefully and with relief at the fact that his sister was no longer being chased by a madman. Elena also looked at the phone in hope that her sister would stay with them.

"Yeah Jerbear I'm staying this time I promise" Lilah promised. "By the way I'm going to hurry there so expect me there in just a few mins, I need to get out of here before the blasted ministry come asking questions I can't be bothered to answer right now, so bye Lena baby, bye Jerbear, I'll see you when I get there." Lilah said and when she heard the goodbye from her siblings she hung up the call and turned to see her two best friends obviously eavesdropping. She raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow at them and they looked sheepish.

"Seriously, eavesdropping. I'd expect it from Ron but not you Mione. We've clearly been a bad influence on you" Delilah laughed at the abashed look on her face as she winked at Ron who remembered when he had said those exact back in first year and grinned fondly with a shake of his head, they had come so far from then and yet nothing's changed between them he thought as he looked at his two favorite girls in the world.

"Sorry Lilah but I was curious even before I met you two" Hermione countered playfully.

"Too right you are Miss Granger, that's why you stuck with us for so long." Delilah teased back before she remembered that any minute now the bloody people from the ministry no matter how little was left were going to demand answers and she was not ready for the gruelling Q&A that would inevitably come so she bid a tearful goodbye to her best friends with a promise to send letters and with one last meaningful look at both of them turned with a crack to the outskirts of her hometown, Mystic Falls.
