A/N: Hi everyone, this is my first Little Mermaid story, and it came to me after seeing images of Ariel as a boy in fan art. It will combine certain elements from all versions of the Disney story and maybe even a few surprises. Thank you everyone and enjoy.

King Triton ruler of Atlantic and King of the Seven Seas waited outside as he could hear his lovely wife and Queen Athena in the birthing room. Despite this being the birth of their seventh child it still hurt the mighty king to hear his wife in so much pain and feel powerless to help her. As Athena's cries clamed down the Sea King looked up as a smaller fish began swimming his way.

"Your majesty there was an unforeseen complication with the queen but do not be alarmed." The fish stated to the worried Sea King. Triton spoke up.

"Complication? Are Athena and the child, ok?" Triton asked, dread started to sweep into his voice.

"The Queen is fine my king, it just that there isn't just one child, there are children. Your wife has delivered two happy healthy Mertwins." Upon hearing the doctor say this Triton's grief and worry quickly melted away to surprise and joy.

"You may come see them now my king." The little fish begins swimming back into the room leading Triton alongside him. The Sea King looked at his tired but still as beautiful as the day he met her, Queen as she was holding two small bundles and had a large smile on her face.

"Triton, we've been blessed with two perfect children." Athena tells her husband as she sees him swimming over to her. Triton's heart melts as he sees his two new children. Both small mer children had red hair, blue eyes and matching green tails. The only difference Triton saw between them was alongside another beautiful daughter, he and Athena had been blessed finally with a son.

Triton loved all his daughters with all his heart and was happy with every child that was born but the Sea King felt a new since of pride having seen his new little son looking up from his mother at his father. Knowing that the man smiling back down at him would protect him.

"Our little prince here is a few minutes earlier than our baby girl, I guess she was in a rush to follow her brother once he was born." Athena tells Triton.

"I know we didn't think of too many boy names, but we are still naming our newest princess Ariel, right dear?" Triton asks remembering the name he and his wife had agreed upon.

"Yes, I think it's beautiful and fits her so well. As for her brother, I was thinking of naming him Aries." Athena looks toward her husband, Triton as with tradition had picked out names for all seven of their daughters but as Athena looks for permission, Triton just smiles back at her.

"Aries is a fine name my dear, I also love how it ties in with his sister and his mother's names." Triton responds as Aries yawns and begins to go to sleep in his mother's arms. His sister Ariel however continues taking in the sight of her parents before she too cuddles with her brother before also falling asleep. The Sea King and Sea Queen just smile at their two beautiful additions to the family as they embrace.

Time skip: 5 years later

King Triton leaves his throne room to go on his daily walk as he waves at his loyal followers, everyone playing music and having a good time.

"You're very kind." Triton says as he waves to two of his followers. Triton then feels two small objects swim up to him and notices his two youngest children.

"Ariel! Aries! Oh!" Triton says as Ariel begins swimming over him looking at all the excitement as Aries relaxes on his father's free shoulder. Triton sees a merman playing a flute and wanting to give it a try grabs the flue and blows.

Ariel, Aries, and Triton all laugh as a blowfish expands due to the King's note as he hands the flute back to the young merman. Ariel hugs her father and pulls some plants down as Aries continues to ride on his father's back.

Triton arrives at the bedroom his children shared with each other and can hear the beautiful song his wife was singing to their six daughters already in the room as Ariel and Aries slip in as well. Ariel hugs her father before heading to her bed and Aries swims off behind his twin sister as Athena continues to sing.

Oh, the waves roll low

And the waves roll high

And so, it goes

Under a bright blue

Endless sky

Waves try to measure

The days that we treasure

Wave hello

And wave goodbye

Aries snuggles up next to Ariel as their parents kiss them goodnight. Despite having the offer to not only have his own room and later his own bed the young prince wanted to sleep in the same bed as his younger sister who also wanted to share a bed with her brother. Athena and Triton couldn't help but smile at the bond Ariel and Aries shared with each other. Mer-twins were rare and special, and Athena knew her twins would always be there for each other.

Aries was popular with all of his sisters as despite being their baby brother the boy was not a prankster or troublemaker. He was shy and was always well behaved. Well other than when Ariel influenced him that is.

"Good night, girls. Good night, Aries." Athena says to all her children as she and Triton head to their bedroom.

The next day the entire royal family went to the Mermaid lagoon as others were playing music. Triton was staring lovingly into the eyes of his queen as he presented her with a music box gift that played their song.

"An endless sky" Triton says to Athena.

"Our song." She responds.

"Our song." He says again.

Triton is about to kiss Athena when they see their eight children giggling at them as Triton sneaks up and grabs all his children playing with them. Aries swims off from his sisters going to sit next to his mother hugging her and she kisses him on top of his head. Athena then looks down as Aries smiles up at her.

"Aries don't you want to go play with your sisters and Daddy?" Athena asks her son. Aries shakes his head.

"No, I wanna sit here with you mommy. I can play later." Aries says as he lays on his mother. Athena smiles at him and then turns him to face her.

"Aries can you do something for me?" Athena asks her young son.

"Anything Mommy." The merlad responds with a big smile.

Athena grabs a bracelet that as far as Aries remembered his mother had never taken off before. Athena placed the bracelet on his wrist, and it glowed before resizing itself to fit his wrist and Aries looked at the magic with excitement.

"Never change who you are Aries, I love you." Athena says kissing her son on his forehead as he hugs her.

"I promise Mommy." Aries says as he sees Attina swim up and sits next to their mother. He starts to head back to his father as he sees Ariel thrown up playful in the air but then he notices clouds and hears as gasp.

"Go!" He hears his father shout. Aries turns and sees something that he can't describe but he knows what or who is on it. Humans, pirates he believes the word that was used. The young prince gets scared and begins swimming back to his mother who is helping free his older sister Attina who's fin had become trapped in between a rock. Athena gets Attina free and the young mermaid dives into the water.

Athena was ready to go herself, but she sees the music box Triton had given her in addition to Aries who is too afraid to move.

"Athena!" Triton screams from the water. Aries quickly grabs his mother and father's music box and tries to make it back to his mother, fear moving the little merboy as fast as his little fin could carry him. He thinks he is too late as the ship is closing in on him but before it is too late his mother grabs him and pushes him out the way. All Aries can see is the ship crash against the rocks and he loses sight of his mother as tears begin to fall. She was the last thing he saw as he hears his father again.

"Athena!"

"Nooooooooooooooooo!" Triton screams as he already knows what has happened.

Queen Athena was lost that day.

Aries would just sit there crying holding his parent's music box. Eventually strong arms would come grab him and the boy didn't turn around or stop crying knowing it was his father who had him. Aries sunk further in his father's arms as his crying intensified.

"It's ok, son." Triton says trying to calm the boy to no avail, as they both know it's not going to be ok. The Queen was lost, and sadness was going to become the kingdom.

Triton looked down at the music box, it was because of this that Athena was gone, he wanted to throw the box away, but Aries clutched it as though it was for dear life as he spoke.

"She saved me. It was an accident. I-I didn't mean for it to happen." Aries tells his father between sobs and Triton just hugs the boy.

"No son, please this wasn't your fault. Your mother just protected you as she or I would have done for you or your sisters. The only ones at fault are the humans." Triton says his anger at humans rising.

Trion eventually swims and sees his daughters all waiting for him, Aries leaves his father and immediately swims over to Ariel embracing his twin sister.

Triton wanted to act out against music, against humans, he wanted to hide his pain with anger, but he looked at his son. While his daughters were sad their mother was gone, Aries felt like it was his fault, he had seen his mother disappear before his eyes so the last thing he needed was his father to fall apart and become cut off from the world, that was the last thing any of children needed. For their sake, and the sake of his queen, Triton would carry on and be the best father he could be. He would raise the girls and Aries properly just as Athena would have wanted. Triton then gathered his children and lead the 8 young children home as he would begin to mourn his wife and plan Athena's funeral.

Time skip: 10 years later

A lot of things had changed in 10 years, but a few things had stayed the same. Aries for example no longer slept in the same bed as his little sister Ariel but the two Mer twins still shared a room.

"Aries, Aries wake up you're sleeping in again." Aries heard his sister say as she was trying to wake him up.

"Maybe I'll sleep in today and leave you and Flounder to go on your own adventure today, Ariel." Aries teases his sister. Already knowing that he was going with his two best friends. He soon got Ariel's response as she hit him with her Pillow.

"Okay, okay. I'm up, I'm up." Aries said as he headed the washroom to freshen up. After washing up Aries followed Ariel as they headed out to find Flounder passing King Triton.

"Good morning, Daddy." Ariel says as she kisses her father on the cheek.

"Morning Dad." Aries says as he swims by the king.

"Hello Ariel, Aries. Where are you two off to today?" The King asks.

"Just going to get Flounder and go on an Adventure." Ariel says.

"And we promise to be back by dinner time." Aries adds as his father looks at the Mer-twins.

"Ok but be careful you two and no visiting the surface, do I make myself clear." Triton tells the two.

"Don't worry dad, no visiting the surface or interacting with the surface at all, Mer-twin promise." Aries tells him as he swims next to his sister.

"Yes Daddy, we promise, come on Aries." Ariel says as she swims off her brother right behind her.

Triton chooses to believe them and heads off to meet with Sebestian for his own royal duties as King.

"Not like Ariel, Flounder and I will do anything that alters our lives." Aries thinks to himself as he follows his sister. He looks down at the bracelet his mother gave him all those years ago as it quickly glows and continues with his day.

Well, that is Chapter 1. As I mentioned before, I will be combining bits and pieces from different Little Mermaid continuity so while I'm skipping Ariel's beginning, I plan to do episodes from the Series next before jumping off into the First movie, but I'll see how it goes. Ariel and Aries's sisters do all look like that did in Ariel's beginning and a modified version of the film happened in the story without Triton banning music and Ariel and Flounder meeting with the TV origin but until next time.
