Betrayed...

Chapter 17 about damn time

Inuyasha looked out his balcony to the sunny mountains in view. A day had gone past and the sun was rising on the second day since the incident. The castle was almost rebuilds with the demon's speed. The only things that weren't repaired were the nerves of the group.

The only people who were left in the castle was Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango and Miroku. Sesshomaru and Rin had gone off to take Rin to a special 'hospital type place' since she had a deep wounds. Meganu, Sawako and then rest of the other's had gone to the their respected castles except koga who tagged along with Sawako. They were going to regroup in three weeks at maxium. They knew that Naraku's son would not take long to attack.

Kagome had not woken from her slumber but he guest that was because she used all of her strength to protect herself along with the one she carries.

The baby, it was unsure if the baby was still alive. They would have to wait a couple of weeks to see if the baby was still alive. It would be a couple of tough weeks but he could do anything with his mate.

The doctor had left and Inuyasha had requested everyone leave for a little while so that they could recover. They would come back when the people would.

Inuyasha gave on more look out into the sunset saying a little prayer that everything would turn out OK before walking into his bedroom.

Kagome was tucked in bed, wrapped up in the silk red sheets, a smile slightly sported on her face. She had a couple of scars on her face but otherwise there is nothing to show that anything had happened.

He walked over and sat on the side of their bed. Inuyasha stroked her hair, so much had happened, Kikyo was dead, Naraku was dead, the jewel was complete, he was back in the castle he semi-grew up in and he had a mate he now had to take care of.

He leaned over Kagome.

'She told me that sleeping beauty woke up with true loves kiss right, maybe it will work.' Inuyasha thought she kissed Kagome and pulled back.

Kagome eyes fluttered open to meet golden ones.

"Inuyasha..." Kagome said before her eyes became wide and she looked at her surrounding scared.

"Shh, its OK Kagome, he's gone, Naraku's dead." Inuyasha said holding her.

Kagome let two silent tears fall down her face before she hugged him back.

"Kagome don't worry, all I want you to know is that no matter what this guy does I will always protect you." Inuyasha said tightening the embrace.

"You mean the second guy escaped." Kagome asked looking into his eyes again.

"Don't worry we'll get him, everyone went away for a little while, the only people around here right now is you, me, Sango, and Miroku. We are going to have time to recover so just relax." Inuyasha said as he brought her to hold her bridal style.

"Thank you Inuyasha." Kagome said and laid her head on his shoulders.

With San & Mir...

Sango was finishing her breakfast when Miroku stepped in.

"Morning Sango how are you feeling?" Miroku asked worriedly.

"Just fine Miroku, honestly it's like nothing ever happened. I cant remember anything from that night, I am just a little sore." Sango said and stood up.

"Well then take it easy, you want to go for a walk?" Miroku asked and held out his hand.

Sango narrowed her eyes trying to think of something that Miroku was trying to get but came up with nothing.

"Alright but one trick, feel, group anything you are going to get a close up view of the moon!" Sango said before grabbing his hand and leading him out the door.

Miroku smiled and started walking out with Sango.

They walked into the daisy infested gardens. They had started walking at an even pace and the walk had become enjoyable to both. Miroku soon led Sango down a path made by tree's.

"So, Sango what do you think about our new enemy?" Miroku asked not able to think of anything else for a conversation peace without getting smacked.

"Well, it looks like he is even twister than his father. We are going to have to become stronger than before." Sango said as they walked down the sunny path.

"Sango I want to ask you a question." Miroku asked.

"Miroku, unless you want to get your special trip to the moon, don't ask me if I will bear your child." Sango said glaring at him.

"It's not that, Sango when I saw you on the floor dead, something with in me died a little within me. I felt like I had lost a little bit of myself when you wouldn't talk, wouldn't speak, wouldn't look at me with those eyes I have become so accustom to." Miroku

"Yeah, yeah I know where this is going and the answer is still..." Sango started but Miroku grabbed her hands and pulled her close.

"Please hear me out before you give me your answer, please." Miroku asked looking pathetically sad.

"Fine..." Sango said bitting her lip.

"Sango, I couldn't live with out you and that made me realize it. So Sango please, will you marry me?" Miroku asked as he got down on one knee and looked straight into her eyes.

"Miroku I..." Sango said her eyes becoming glassy.

"It's OK if you..." Miroku started and looked away but felt Sango wrap her arms around him.

"I would love to marry you Miroku." Sango said and smiled at him.

"I love you Sango." Miroku

"I love you to." Sango said and they sealed it with a kiss.

Kagome and Inuyasha were eating a breakfast in the grand hall after some very interesting persuasion from Kagome. Inuyasha wanted her to eat in bed but she refused saying that she needed to get up and move.

"Kagome don't eat as much, you don't want to overdue it." Inuyasha said.

'He has invented a whole new level of overprotective.' Kagome thought as she threw some egg into her mouth.

"I am fine Inuyasha, don't worry, lets just eat a nice quiet meal and..." Kagome said looking into his eyes until.

"Kagome!" Sango called

"Lets just ignore them and run upstairs?" Inuyasha asked a sly grin on his face.

"What about over exerting myself?" Kagome asked laughing a little.

"Inuyasha!" Miroku called from outside.

"Well I am sure we could work..." Inu

"Kagome, Inuyasha!" They both called.

"Lets just go see what they want." Kagome said and sighed when Sango and Miroku walked in the door.

"Inuyasha, Kagome there you are, we have great news!" Miroku said grabbing Sango around the waist and spun her around.

"What you made a oath to not group her for two minutes and actually did it?" Inuyasha asked sarcastically.

"No better." Sango said with a smile and nodded to Kagome.

"You mean he," Kagome asked with a smile.

She got up and ran to her friend embracing her in a hug..

"What?" Inuyasha asked running behind Kagome.

"We're getting married!" They both said at the same time.

"Well its about damn time!" Inuyasha said with a smirk.
