Watching Nicky

This is just a poem I wrote on the what is it? spur of the moment. It's Sara's POV as the team watches Nicky on the computer screen, while he's still buried and their in the process of trying to locate him.

I can only watch as you struggle among the ants

You cry out, but we can't hear you

There is nothing I can do to comfort you

You are helpless

Your only weapon is your determination to live

I want to talk to you, tell you it'll be okay

But I can't know if it will

We don't know where you are

And we don't know if we'll ever see you again

It aches me to see you this way

You were always so passionate about everything

You are a great CSI

But why did it have to lead to this?

All those years helping people, only to be hurt by it

It wasn't supposed to be like this

You were just on a case

And you were taken from us

I can't stand it

We are just watching, and can't help you

All we can do is search for you

And pray

I hope you can hear us praying for you

We love you Nicky and we'll find you
