As the scarlet Hogwarts departed its station a boy sat alone in a compartment. This boy was Harry Potter. Harry Potter had the appearance of a recent growth spurt. He was awkward looking but yet he was quite comfortable the way he was. His dark hair lay in his face letting one interpret he was rather shy. His eyes gleamed behind he glasses; he was quite an attractive fellow if of course perceived by someone who wasn't as thick as quite a few people Harry knew. But we won't talk about them.
Three if Harry's favorite people proceeded to follow him and take seats next to and across from him.
"Why didn't you wait for us, eh mate?" asked a slightly taller boy with radiant red hair matching the girl opposite him.
"What? Oh sorry, Ron. Harry replied, "Just got distracted."
The girl next to Harry whispered gently, "Try not to think about it, there are lots of new things happening this year. Take your mind off Dumbledore, it wasn't your fault!"
The other boy and girl with fluffy brown hair nodded in agreement.
A few compartments up another student was having problems of her own.
"Draco, please get out! There are plenty other places you and you friends can loiter!" pleaded a girl not quite a year older than Harry.
"Awww, Katie! But not every compartment has a girl as pretty as you in it!" chortled a pale pointed faced boy.
Katie was starting to get nervous. She backed against the far wall and said again, "Draco… please..."
Just as the sleek, blonde haired boy approached he heard a loud "OY!" from the entrance of the compartment.
One of the Weasley twins was standing sternly in the compartment accusingly. His eyes swept the scene and walked farther into the compartment closer to the two.
:"Malfoy, get out!" commanded the twin, pointing his wand. When the Slytherin didn't budge he roared, "FURNUNCULOUS!"
Malfoy stumbled back as boils started to erupt across his once clear complexion.
"WEASEY!" he boomed.
He ran from the compartment determined to keep his dignity before he was seen by any number of the girls in the next room.
"Katie? whispered the newcomer, are you ok?"
She nodded. She sat down quietly in the seat next to the window and looked at the twin and murmured, thanks George."
He smiled warmly at her and sat next to her. They sat there for quite some time until something broke the silence. Katie sat quite still when George's hand innocently touched hers that rested on her thigh. He didn't pull away.
