When the snow melted, it became spring, right?
It was a musing he often had, sitting on the steps and watching coy drift around the pond. Perhaps it was boredom, or perhaps it was escape. Either way, it was a worthwhile wonder. While snow was cold, it was also peaceful. Was it worth the loss of tranquility, he wondered, to invite the spring? Was it worth the noise and the troubles? What replaced the snow? For something lost must have something in its place, to prevent emptiness.
A sweet scent met his nose as a raincloud appeared in the distance...
