Chapter 1: Unexpected Encounter

One night on New York City, Manhattan, a lonely figure is sitting on top of one of the tallest buildings. The moonlight slowly revealed what the figure looks like. The figure was not human but a creature, that looked like a normal human at first but if you look closely, the creature has wings, a tail, eight clawed hands and six clawed feet, and pointed ears.

The creatures name is Zelda, with golden hair that reaches a bit past her waist and green-emerald eyes that shine through the night and the shadows. She is wearing copenhagen blue tank top like blouse with layers, dark blue bottoms, and with a light blue hip scarf. Zelda sighed in sadness, thinking back when she became the creature that she is now and of her friends in her time in Hyrule.

'I miss you all so much... I wish that you are here with me... Ah! Curse the yiga clan! I should have been more aware of my surroundings after the defeat of Calamity Ganon!'

Zelda thought angrily, but soon started to shake in fear at what she thought next.

'...But what scares me the most is of HIM finding me and drag me back to...'

Zelda shaken her head to get rid of that thought. But as much as she tried, the memories of her friends/family...and of HIM. Zelda cried, holding her arms in a tight grip, hugging herself.

"Am I destined to be alone? Or to be with someone that treats me wrongly? Is my destiny or fate a curse? But more importantly... are there others like me? Gargoyles?"

~~~~~ { At the Clock Tower } ~~~~~
Inside the clock tower are seven gargoyles, six males and one female. The tall grey gargoyle on the stairs, reading a book is Goliath, the leader of the clan. The tan-brown elderly gargoyle with shoulder plates, sitting on a green chair sofa watching TV is Hudson, he was the clans former leader thousands of years ago but is now as an advisor to goliath and the rest of the clan. The blue gargoyle, napping next to Hudson, is Bronx. A dog-like gargoyle beast. The grey female gargoyle talking with the aqua-green gargoyle is Angela, she's Goliath's biological daughter. The aqua-green gargoyle, who is eating a sandwich and talking with Angela is Broadway, he is good-hearted but dislikes guns greatly when he accidently shot Elisa. Broadway is also overweighed and bulk. The short-green gargoyle, who is the smallest of the clan and working on a computer is Lexington, he is the technical smart wizard when it comes to technology. And the last gargoyle, who is red and reading a book of history magazine is Brooklyn, he is Goliath's second in command. Brooklyn has a bit of a attitude of sarcastic and impetuous, but has a talent for tactics.
"Hey did you hear about that new movie that came out?" Broadway asked Brooklyn and Lexington, as he brought them a sandwich to eat.
"You mean Congo?" asked Brooklyn, while eating the sandwich Broadway brought.
"Yeah! That one. We should go check it out. It might be good." Broadway excitedly replied.
"Hmm, I never seen it but I heard that it's not really good" stated Lexington, while shutting down his computer.
Brooklyn then started to think which other movies that are good to check out. After 5 minutes of thinking, one movie popped up in his head.
"Why not try Jumanji? I heard that one is good."
The other two gargoyles gave it some thought and nodded in acceptance. Just as the three gargoyles were about to leave at the movie theater, they heard Goliath's voice.
"While you three are out, be on portal as well"
The trio nodded to their leader in understanding and walked outside to the balcony of the clock tower. When the reached the railing of the balcony, they jumped on top of it and flew towards the theater.
~~~~~ { With Zelda } ~~~~~

Zelda has been flying around the city for two hours, trying to calm herself from her flashbacks of her past. Soon, she felt her wings getting tired of flying for two hours. Zelda landed on top of a building next to the movie theater. She watched people walking in and out of the movie theater, buying tickets for a movie.

'Hmm... I wonder what movie is good to see.'

Zelda thought trying to read the titles of each movie.

While Zelda was trying to get a closer look at the titles by going to to the building in front of the theater, she suddenly saw three flying silhouettes. She noticed that they're flying towards the theater as well. The big and bulk silhouette must have seen Zelda as he pointed towards her direction as they got closer. Zelda started to panic while looking for a place to hide.

'Oh no! They must have seen me! I have to hide before they come any closer!'

Zelda quickly ran towards the nearest place to hide as the flying silhouettes came much closer to land on the same building she is on, she hid behind a chimney that is big and wide enough to hide her form completely. The three unknown figures landed near the spot that Zelda was standing before, looking around. Zelda slowly peeked her head out of the corner of the chimney, enough to see what and who these unknown figures are. At first she thought that they were HIS men, but when she looked closely, she gasped as she saw that they have wings, tails, and claws like her.

'Are.. are they gargoyles? Like me?'

Zelda quickly hid again as she heard one of them speak.

"I could have sworn that I saw something . It almost looked like us."

"You probably saw a ghost"

The small green gargoyle laughed as he walked next to the big aqua-green gargoyle.

The red gargoyle was looking around, he felt that someone was watching them. As he turned o look at the chimney, the red gargoyle thought he saw some movement but thought nothing of it. Til he had an idea.

When Zelda noticed the red gargoyle about to turn his head at her direction, she hid again from his view before he could see her. She can heard them mumbling to one another but couldn't understand what their saying. Then a sound wings flapping in the air was heard, the sound slowly faded into dead silence. Zelda didn't want to look and see if their gone, in fear of being caught. But she had to know, so she made the ultimate choice. Zelda slowly peeked her head out again and saw that the three gargoyles were gone.

As she slowly walked from her hiding place, she didn't noticed three pair of eyes watching her every move from the next building that is a bit higher than the one Zelda is on. Just when Zelda was convinced that they are gone, she heard someone from the next building with excitement.

"See! I told you I saw something that looks like us!"

Zelda's form suddenly stood still as a rock with her eyes widen in both fear and nervousness. When a sound of landing was heard behind her, eight feet away, she slowly turns around towards the source of the sound and saw that it was the three gargoyles again. They noticed that Zelda is scared when her tail was curled up a bit and her wings folded closely behind her. The red gargoyle held up his hands to show her that they mean no harm, he also instructed the other two gargoyles to do the same.

"We mean you no harm."

The red gargoyle calmly stated, as the other two nodded.

Zelda, still scared, asked "W-who are you?"

"My name is Brooklyn. This big guy is Broadway and this is Lexington but we call him Lex for short."

The red gargoyle, now identified as Brooklyn, said as he also introduced the small green gargoyle, identified as Lexington/Lex and the aqua-green gargoyle, identified as Broadway.

They smiled and waved at Zelda in a friendly manner.

When Zelda heard Brooklyn introducing themselves and saw that they mean no harm or threat, she slightly unfolded her wings from behind her and uncurled her tail to show that she is not scared anymore. But she started to get shy when she introduced herself.

"I-It's nice to meet you. My name is Zelda."

"Zelda? That's a cool name!" Broadway said as Lexington nodded in agreement.

Brooklyn lightly scratched behind his head and blushed lightly, looking nervously at her as he whispering to himself.

"I think its a beautiful name."

Brooklyn thought that no one heard him but Zelda, unfortunately, heard him. She blushed more and shyly replied, "Thank you."

Brooklyn smiled more nervously and also blushed more, Zelda saw his reaction and lightly laughed.

"Is your clan here too?" asked Lexington

Zelda stopped laughing and looked at Lexington with confusion in her eyes.

"Clan?"

"Yeah, your family and friends."

When the words 'friends' and 'family' were mentioned, Zelda slightly turned her head away looking down that her bangs covered her eyes. When Lexington and Broadway saw this, Lexington immediately apologize to Zelda.

"O-Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to ask so sudden!"

Brooklyn could see that Zelda was tying to hold something in but doesn't want to show in front of them. He thought that she's probably been alone for a long time that the loneliness is causing her pain and fear of never finding anyone like her.

'Is she...crying?'

Brooklyn thought as he noticed something running down her face.

'Zelda probably lost her clan... her people... kinda like us.'

Brooklyn walked up to Zelda til he was right in front of her, two feet away. Zelda noticed his shadow and feet when he stopped in front of her. She looked up at him and what he saw made his eyes widen slightly. Tears fell from her beautiful emerald eyes, that shine as jewels, down her cheeks. Brooklyn want to try to cheer her up. He didn't want to see tears of sadness and pain. So he did the only thing that will help, gently pulling her into a warm hug. A small gasp of surprise came from Zelda as he hugged her.

"We're sorry... to ask you so sudden. When you're ready to tell us, we'll wait til you're ready"

Zelda was shocked when Brooklyn whispered this to her. She can only just hug him back and lay her head on his shoulder as she processed what he just whispered. After she thought about his kind words of understanding, Zelda smiled and closed her yes in peace, knowing that they won't force her but to be patient with her.

Broadway and Lexington have shacked faces when they saw Brooklyn hugging Zelda in the most warm and caring way that they ever saw. They never saw him act like this but that one time with Maggie when she asked for help to save Talon in the Underground Labyrinth.

Zelda slightly opened her eyes and looked up at Brooklyn.

"Thank you for understanding."

The two broke the hug and stared at each other for ten seconds before they turned towards the other two, still shocked, gargoyles.

Zelda and Brooklyn chuckled at their reactions.

"There's no need to apologize. But all I ask is please be patient til I'm ready to answer." Zelda smiled.

Broadway and Lexington smiled also and nodded with understanding.

Brooklyn lightly tapped on Zelda's shoulder.

"Want to watch in the theater with us? We were going to check out a movie called Jumanji, since we haven't seen it yet. After the movie, do you want to meet the rest of our clan?"

Broadway and Lexington noticed hope in his eyes after he asked Zelda. They smiled lightly when they looked at each other, thinking the same thing in their heads.

'He's hoping that she will say yes.'

Zelda thought about it for a minute before she gave her answer.

"Sure! I was actually looking for a good movie to see."

Brooklyn smiled at her answer about the movie question but was waiting for her answer to meeting Goliath, Hudson, Bronx, Angela and Elisa.

"I also would like to meet your... people?... clan?"

The three male gargoyles chuckled at her answer.

"Clan. But it's okay , we'll help you learn." Brooklyn said, trying not to laugh but he was happy that she said yes to meeting the clan.

Zelda just shrugged her shoulders and laughed with them. After a few minutes of laughter, all four of them went on top of the theater building and sneaked into the building to watch Jumanji.
