Suddenly I can't stay in this room.
You'll never sway, and I have nothing left that I can think of to say.
Hermione was sitting on a comfy couch in her Heads Common Room reading a thick novel. One thing disturbed her from reading though. Across the room was Malfoy with one of his giggling groupies. He was whispering things in her ear and running his hand up and down her back.
Feeling annoyed she left the room and slammed her portrait door closed behind her.
How could she be so stupid to think that he would keep his promise?
What do you want me to think of my thought?
Bear it in mind, if I cannot believe in me who will I then be?
Feeling completely pissed off she couldn't even trust the one person she felt safe with she started to blame it on herself. Could she have been more into it? Should she have not pushed him for after school?
Tears trickled down her cheek, leaving stains in their path. Why did she have to be such an academic?
And so I'll run but not too far, incase you chase me,
But this is how it goes, baby.
Leaving her room and then the Common Room in a blur of clothes, she began to run full speed down the corridor to the empty classroom at the end of the hall. Opening up the door and walking in, she left it slightly ajar. Walking over to the window, opening the glass up and leaning over the ledge to let the breeze wash over her face.
I'll get angry at your words and I'll go home
And you won't call after me 'cos I'll be back before you know, you know...
Why did he make a promise he obviously couldn't keep? Why did he have to say those few fateful words and make her heart soar, but crush it within the week? It's his fault.
Stepping back from the ledge, she pulled the glass shut and made sure it was clasped tight. She slowly walked back out the slightly open door, closing it softly behind her.
So give me a tooth full of that smile,
And know-it-all eyes you show me
Draco was sitting on the couch that Hermione had left behind her as she walked back. He turned around to look her in the eye and patted the seat beside him. Walking slowly towards it, she sat and looked up into his silver eyes, the same ones who could see through any lie and straight into your soul.
He asked her if she could smile to him, smile enough to make the shine reach her eyes, the eyes he thought were able to make his legs buckle.
Just to prove that you don't need to lose it.
You tell me I'm your fortress of desire
"Why do you say promises you can't keep? Is it because of me? You tell me all these things, yet every time you bring another one in, you make me question your truthfulness. Every time it's a new person, every time I ask the same questions. Every time you expect me just to come back, sit and be friends again. But what if next time it doesn't happen?"
But is it a crime for me to say my own view
And want then not to fear you?
Hermione finished speaking and waited with her breath held. Why did she always feel like he would start yelling if she expressed a view other than his own? Why couldn't she see the reason.
His father made him someone he wasn't for the image of the Malfoy's to stay strong, cold and unyielding.
Draco sighed.
"I know it's easier to let go, run away and hide."
A/N: Well this is my first song fic. How did I do? I thought it was okay, please review!
