Once upon a time is how this story will start

It's about a boy's realization of his heart

There was a girl that lived next door

Her actions towards him were very sore

They went to school every day

Thinking of ways to make the other pay

They always found a way to argue and fight

Enemies they were, at least at first sight

But if you looked past the yelling and screams

You could tell what were each of their dreams

Jimmy loved the blonde-haired girl

Seeing her cry made his stomach curl

And Cindy also was in love with that boy

Seeing him smile filled her heart with joy

Normally they forgot this and continued to deny

The feelings that resided in them that wouldn't die

But one day when they were older

Jimmy had gotten braver and bolder

He decided the time was right

He would tell her his feelings tonight

He caught up with her after school

He took a deep breath and tried to act cool

He asked her to the Senior dance

The time was now to take a chance

Her frown quickly gave way to a smile

After seven years of waiting she could give up the denial

She took his hand and said yes

She hurried home to try on her dress

Jimmy came by later and knocked on her door

When she looked at him her jaw hit the floor

The man she loved had never looked better

He was wearing a tux when he came to get her

He handed her a flower and they ran to the car

As they drove Cindy looked up and wished on star

She wished that tonight would be what she had dreamed

She whispered this as the star gleamed

Jimmy helped her out of the car and took her arm

He flashed her a smile that was filled with his charm

They went inside hand in hand

They looked over and nodded at the band

They took the hint and played a slow song

It seemed that Jimmy and Cindy danced all night along

And as he bent down and they shared their first kiss

All Cindy could do was smile in bliss
