Wolf family
Chapter I
The new head of security
Author's note: Takes place a year after Assault
Inside the lounge area onboard the Sargasso Space Station, Wolf O' Donnell walk up to the bar counter and sat down at a bar stool. He had just finished a workout session in the gym the space station had and was ready for a drink. This was the bar he had been working at full time for a full year since the destruction of the Aparoid queen, yet he was still considering the Space Station as his and his fellow Starwolf teammembers named Panther Caruso and Leon his home. He wore a black cotton tanktop, a pair of blue denim shorts, and tennis shoes.
"What can I get for you, Mr. O'Donnell?" The bartender asked.
"Get me a Macbeth Margarita, Thompson." Wolf ordered, "And make sure you add a lemon on top."
"Yes, sir." the male orange tiger bartender replied
He grabbed a tall beer glass and poured Wolf the drink, then handed it back to Wolf. He took it and took a sip of it just as Krystal and Fox entered the lounge.
"Another mission successful." Fox said to Krystal as they sat down beside Wolf, who grinned slightly, "Whew! I'm beat. Catching that cat-burglar."
"So am I." Krystal added, rubbing her eyes, "I can go for a drink."
Fox ordered drinks for both him and her. Wolf growled sightly at the sight of Fox and Krystal just sitting beside him. A month after the aparoid queen was destroyed, the Cornerian government took over the Sargasso Space Station and arrested all the guards in it in a successful attempt to turn it into a place for space travelers to rest. Wolf, Leon, and Panther were pardoned for their involvement in fighting the Aparoids, yet they had to get use to the fact that Fox and his fellow StarFox teammates decided to make the spacestation their new home since the Great Fox was destroyed during the Aparoid invasion. Wolf was put in charge of the station's lounge crew, and he was off-duty. He wore a black cotton tank, a pair of blue denim jeans, and brown boots. Fox's old friend named Bill Grey was put in charge of the station.
Both Fox and Krystal sat down beside Wolf and ordered drinks. Fox took a sip of his drink and sighed
"General Pepper told us the station's new head of security should be arriving soon." Krystal said to both Fox and Wolf. "Did you remember the name of the new head of security?"
"Yes." Fox said to her, "Melissa Anderson. Remember her? The one you met at the celebration at Corneria City Park last year?"
"Yes I do." Krystal replied, "She's your old friend, isn't she? The one who has a kid?"
None of them noticed Wolf had groaned at the sound and mention of Melissa's name. He slowly got up and left the lounge. Fox and Krystal watched him leave.
"Did I say something?" Krystal asked Fox, who shook his head.
"Wolf and Melissa once had a romantic relationship during their days at the Cornerian flight Academy." Fox explained to her. "They broke up years ago. Worse for him, their relationship resulted in the birth of one person."
He pulled his wallet out of his pocket and pulled out a photo of him carrying a four-year-old wolf pup named Adam O'Donnell on his shoulders at the Corneria city park. Krystal thought it was the cutest thing ever.
"He looked like a sweet little kid back then" Krystal asked with a little smile. "I still like him ever since I met him at the celebration."
"He's like a son to me." Fox said to him, "I remember seeing him when he was born."
"Does he know anything about Wolf being his father?" Krystal asked
Fox was about to answer, when the door to the lounge opened and a young, but incredibly beautiful slim grey wolf with thick, dark blue hair and wearing a Cornerian Defense Force uniform named Melissa Anderson entered the lounge. Walking beside her was young Adam, who was now 13 years old.
"Hello, guys." Amanda greeted them with a smile
"Hey, Amanda." Krystal replied. "Hey, Adam."
"Hey, Uncle Fox." Kevin said, "Aunt Krystal."
He exchanged hugs with both of them. Fox turned his attention to Melissa, when he noticed two guards were approaching her.
"Ms. Anderson," He told her, "We'll escort you both to your quarters."
Melissa nodded at them, then returned her attention to both Fox and Krystal.
"It was good seeing you guys again." She said to them, "Come on, sweetheart."
Both of them turned and left with the security guards. Krystal looked at Fox,
"Does Kevin know anything about Wolf?" She asked
"All Kevin knows is that Wolf was a good man who made the wrong decisions." Fox replied, "And that's how I intend to keep it between us."
Inside his quarters, Wolf picked up a framed photo of both him and Melissa from off his nightstand and glanced at it. It was a photo of both him and her at a carnival in Corneria City in their teens. He stroked it, then kissed it.
"I miss you, Melissa." Wolf whispered with a tear streaking down from his good eye. "I miss you with all my heart."
He placed the photo back down and laid down on his bed.
