The Snapshot On My Desk

There's a snapshot on my desk,

Of you, your wife, and God bless,

A beautiful little girl,

I saw you slip away,

Right before my eyes,

I couldn't change the things we made,

I don't think,

It paid,

To lose you,

See you wave goodbye,

From the windows of a train,

The pain,

Won't go away,

Its funny how the days,

You spend with friends,

You grow to trust,

And the one's you lose,

Create a deep depression in a heart,

That's trying to do its part,

I only tried to think,

But knew it wouldn't last,

I saw you slip away,

Saw you slip away from the windows of a train,

Saw you slip away and thought of the past,

And the things we promised to do,

At last that day will come,

And time will be undone,

And maybe,

Just maybe,

Those memories,

Of losing my best friend,

Will fade away,

As if you never left,

And maybe,

Just maybe,

Those two,

Will finally have made their way,

Back,

To the original.

A/N: This was written from many points of view. Mainly Roy's and Ed's. In the episode where Hughes dies there's a scene where Ed sees Hughes wave to him from the platform they pass. It's really sweet. In another ep I'm told that there is a scene where Mustang has the pic of the Hughes family on his desk. Oh and a BG inspired me.
