Just Goes To Show You Never Know

Summary: This is a Ben/Riley slash. What if Ben didn't get together with Abigail? Well this is my story if they didn't. R&R. From Normal POV.

A/N: I own none of the characters, yada yada yada. You guys know the rest. Just read the story. Please and Thank you.

It had been a long couple of days for Ben and the others. After they had found the treasure, they had many meetings with museum curators on discussing how to divide the treasure. Who would've thought that there would still be controversy over the treasure after it was found?

"Man that was the longest meeting I've ever been to in my entire life. I thought I'd die of boredom."

"Oh, c'mon Riley. It wasn't that bad."

"You're only saying that because you got to see your girlfriend again."

"Riley for the last time, Abigail isn't my girlfriend. I have someone else in mind..."

"Yeah and every time I ask you who it is, you clam up like an oyster. When're you gonna tell me, Ben?"

"When you get older"

"Are you trying to tell me something?"

"Mr. Poole, it is a known fact that all people grow older physically, but some don't grow up mentally."

"You are saying something aren't you?"

"We have to go to the new opening of the exhibit in Cairo tomorrow."

"You're changing the subject again, Ben."

"Good-bye Riley."

"Hmph. G'bye Ben."

No matter what I do or say, he just doesn't get it, Ben thought to himself as he drove home. Well, it's not like this would be the first time.

"That was too long for words."

"Really? I thought it went by pretty fast."

"Only cuz you kept staring at your girlfriend."

"Riley, I shall say this one more time, and one more time only: Abigail IS NOT my girlfriend."

"Then who do you have the hots for Ben? Please tell me? You never tell me anything!"

"Fine Riley. I shall tell you tonight."

"Tonight?"

"Yes. Come over to my apartment tonight and I shall tell you to ease your curious brain from exploding."

"Alright! See t'night around 8! Bye Ben!"

"That's a first..." Ben muttered to himself as he watched Riley get in his car and drive off. "Maybe tonight won't be so bad after all."

A knocking came to Ben's door around 8 o'clock that evening. He opened the door to see Riley standing there smiling.

"Hey, you're right on time. That's a first."

"Well, the curiosity got the better of me."

"Curiosity killed the cat you know."

"Ben, you know I'm allergic to cats."

"Don't worry Riley. I know."

They walked into the apartment and sat down on Ben's couch. They talked small talk for a while, then Ben spoke up.

"So, I guess you want to know who I have a crush on right about now right?"

"Yes, I'd like to know Ben."

Come on Ben. You can do this, you HAVE to do this.

"Well...it's...it's you Riley."

There was an awkward silence. Followed by, "Are serious Ben? I mean really serious this time?"

"Yes Riley I am. I haven't stopped thinking about it since our little treasure adventure. That's why I kept talking to Abigail about it"

"Wait! Abigail knows?"

"Well, yeah. I was confused Riley. I didn't know who to go to."

"Ben, I've been talking to Abigail about it too."

"What?"

"I've been seeking her advice for some time now about you."

"So does that mean what I hope it means?"

"Yes, Ben, it does."

They leaned forward and kissed ever so lightly. After a few seconds, their kissed became more passionate. It was a few minutes until they separated.

"How about some dinner?"

Sounds good, I'm starving!"

"Oh Riley..."
