Hey, this is the re-written and hopefully final version of chapter one ^^

This is a rewrite of my previous fanfic "The Story of a sad hero". I overall corrected a few details over the story and also read over it again. Hope there are no grammatical or spelling mistakes now. Before the fanfic continues, I will rewrite chapter two and three too.
Because this is the first chapter I kept it quite short for you, to have an easier start.

It was another ordinary-boring day in the life of Yato Ganan. He had already collected fruit, berries and bushes yesterday evening so that he was supplied for the day. It was already noon, and he was dozing in a tree. Life as a poacher could be so boring. The rare human interaction Yato enjoyed was when he went to nearby Shizugakure to collect his reward for capturing roving Nukenins, or to buy cigarettes, which he rarely smoked. It's been ten years now that he's been living on his own out here in the wild. He was unable to return to his homeland of Konohagakure. During this time, he would at least have wished he wasn't alone.

There was a bang in the distance and a slight tremor was noticeable. Strange... Who's fighting there? he wondered. He made a few hand signs and vanished in a wave of wind. He wanted to get to the root of the bang in an investigative manner. Disguised in his air form, he traced the sound back to its source. A fight took place there. Just arrived, three people in a potato sack-like robe disappeared. A man wearing the same robe held a dome of earth with outstretched arms. Should I follow the others? He thought for a moment but decided against it. I assume there are people trapped in that rock dome that might need my help.

Just moments later, someone yelled, "Human Bullet Tank!" and the rock construct was blasted open on the opposite side. Five young shinobi from Konoha were standing there. A conspicuous boy in an orange jumpsuit, a boy with his ninja dog, a Hyūga - who was clearly recognizable for his special white eyes, a slightly fatter boy and a boy with a man-bun. Yato was too far away to hear the conversations clearly. However, the group split up a short time later. The fat boy was now facing the other man, who was also chunky. Yato created a doppelganger. He left him behind and followed the group from his home village.

After a lengthy pursuit, the quartet from Konohaninjas was slowed down again. A spider-like man prevented them from progressing. However, the Hyūga boy found out very quickly that the Spider Man could not harm him thanks to his Jūken technique, which is why he decided to let his team go further. Again, Yato left a doppelganger behind and pursued the rest of the team.

Meanwhile, the previous fight was coming to an end. The obese boy from Konoha bravely kept his feet and tried to catch up with his friends. However, he was too weak and fell against a tree. Yato's doppelganger came out of a bush. The boy from his home village was badly wounded but stable. He treated his wounds and provided first aid. It was too late for the other guy. He already had no pulse when Yato went to tend him. He put his compatriot a little from the battle site, where he was safe, and then vanished.

In the meantime, the now three-man team has caught up with the opposing team, which now consists of two ninjas. The boy in the orange jumpsuit had grabbed a barrel, which the enemies carried with them from the start, and which seemed to be the target of the Konoha shinobi, and the three tried to escape. The little ninja dog had set up booby traps. Unfortunately for him, he got tied by a wire to a tree trunk with his own trap. A two-headed man and the dog's owner jump into the middle of the explosion and are blown down a ravine.

"That's not good at all!", said the boy with the braid.

"Shikamaru, I think we have other problems now!", the boy in the jumpsuit yelled in panic.

"I'll get you, bastards!", the last remaining and only female opponent called after the two. However, only a moment later she stopped, extremely frightened: "That's..." Without the two Konohaninja really noticing, another opponent entered the scene. A man with white hair, in a loosely worn robe and extraordinary aura. With a graceful move, he kicked the barrel to the red-haired girl and jumped after it.

"I'm sorry Naruto! I didn't expect that!", the bunned boy apologized.

"Tayuya, what are you doing here? According to my information there were four of you, where are the others?" asked the strange man. Every move of him looked extremely smooth and his aura was exceptionally striking.

"Kimimaru... what happened to you?", asked the girl, who must be Tayuya.

"I have now left the material world. What you see… is psychic energy, nothing more!", he replied.

"You escaped your reality...", Tayuya said.

"I don't give a shit who you are or what's wrong with you! I want Sasuke back now!", the blond boy in the jumpsuit yelled and jumped at the other two. But he only got a punch in the face. His teammate caught him.

"Tayuya, I'll leave those two to you. This vessel is the only thing Orochimaru desires at this moment." Kimimaru said and then disappeared. After a little whispering, the boy with the man-bun jumped at Tayuya.

"Now Naruto!", he shouted. At this, Tayuya wasn't quite paying attention and Naruto jumped over her. As she was about to intervene, she realized that she was bound by a shadow.

"Damned! You tricked me, you conniving weasels! You and your stupid teamwork!", she cursed wildly.

Meanwhile, things weren't looking too good for the young Hyūga. He was badly wounded and extremely exhausted. The Spider-Man had formed a bow out of a strange material. Now he formed an arrow with his mouth. The tip of the arrow was threaded. The arrow was designed to pierce trees by rotating, so that its opponent could not hide behind any trunks. He took aim, took a deep breath and… fired. The sheer blast that erupted from the shot was incredible. The boy fell to the ground, unable to balance. But then Yato's double jumped in between. There was a tremendous rupture. The arrow shattered and the energy released by the arrow's impact caused a huge amount of dust and dirt to be blown up.

Did I strike him? The man, whose skin was now dark brown, wondered. He also had horns on his head. When the haze cleared, all he could see was a slightly frail boy standing there. He wore blue shorts and a white t-shirt with the Konoha emblem on it. The exhausted Konohaninja turned around.

"Who are you?", he asked before losing consciousness.

Where does he come from? Wondered the man who literally looked like a monster. Before he was able to get what was happening, he realized he couldn't move. Everything around him went black.

Meanwhile, Yato's doppelganger concentrated pure chakra in his hand, which took the form of the lightning element. A spear of focused Raiton chakra formed in his hand. Then he lifted his arm and aimed at the spider man. "Raiton Spear!" he shouted and threw the bolt of lightning chakra at the man. He pierced his heart. No way he could have survived that. Then he turned and tended the wounds of the long-haired Hyūga. His wounds are many times more severe than those of his predecessor. First aid would not do it here. Yato's doppelganger did everything to keep the boy stable until reinforcements or paramedics would arrive.

It was a long and exhausting fight for Shiakmaru and Tayuya. A grueling head-to-head chess game in which it looked like the girl's sheer physical strength and willpower would be enough to win the match. With Shikamaru's shadow dissolving, from being unable to maintain his chakra, Tayuya was ready to stab him with a kunai when a whirlwind hit her. A blond girl with four pigtails and a large fan jumped in front of Shikamaru.

"I am Temari, from Sunagakure, the Allies of Konoha!", she announced. "I'll just finish this thing!" Tayuya started to play her flute. However, before she fully accomplished the Genjutsu, that she was able to create by the sound of her flute, Temari twirled her fan once: "Wind Release: Great Sickle Weasel Technique!" With a violent gust of wind, she cut through various trees, and Tayuya this time dodged and searched for a suitable place to continue playing the flute.

I seem to have a new opponent! Tayuya thought. Suddenly Yato appeared in front of her out of nowhere and covered her mouth.

"Ssssh!", he silenced her. "You should give up and run! You don't have enough chakra to fight this fight against two anymore…", he advised her. She slapped his hand away from her face.

"Fuck outta my face!" she hissed at him. Yato immediately disappeared and left the girl alone for the time being. Meanwhile, Temari bit her thumb and drew a line of blood on her fan.

"Kuchiyose: Kirikiri Mai!" she yelled, and a weasel with a sickle appeared in front of her. With this jutsu, Temari cut down a gigantic area of the forest. Tayuya's carelessness and her immense exhaustion at the time prevented her from dodging. She was fully engulfed by Temari's jutsu and passed out while still in mid-air. Yato was determined to save her and now had to use his full speed. He created a doppelganger that he transformed into a Tayuya dummy using the transformation jutsu. Then he jumped, caught Tayuya and disappeared with her. This worked out quite well, both thanks to his tremendous speed, which at its peak is so fast that he cannot be seen with the naked eye, and thanks to the falling trees and logs, which obscured enough view for him to remain undetected. His dummy placed himself under a log in a dead-looking pose, so Shikamaru and Temari could be sure they'd won. When the situation had calmed down a bit and Yato was sure that the two had moved on, he put Tayuya on the floor in front of him and took a deep breath...
