Hi all, and welcome to my Kim/Bonnie fic. This came into my head while reading "And Life Goes On" by StarvingLunatic, so you may see a few similarities with that story. Two other things before we get started: this story kicks off immediately after So the Drama, but ignores the Kim/Ron bits, as I don't want to write around that, and is also therefore set in the mid-2000s, and will represent attitudes and behaviour more suited to then than now. Okay? Let's go!

Chapter 1 - It Doesn't Mean Anything

Kim glanced around around the afterparty with a slight frown. 'This is so not my scene...' she thought, taking in the various instances of teenage excess.

As prom has started to wind down, word quickly spread about an afterparty taking place at Big Mike's place, as his parents were away for the rest of the week.

With no adult supervision, the party had gotten much more rowdy than the others she had attended in the past, and there appeared to be no shortage of alcohol for those that wanted it. While she had on occasion shared a small amount of wine with Monique, she wasn't a drinker, and she certainly had no plans to start here of all places.

'It's going to take Mike the rest of the week to get this place looking even half decent,' she thought grimly, spotting numerous spills, breakages and incidents of property damage in-between the dozens of bodies moving through the small home. 'How did I let Ron talk me into this?'

She stood up on her toes, to see if she could spot any sign of her best friend. It usually wasn't that hard to find him, though she doubted there'd be a conga-line of monkey ninjas trailing behind him on this particular night.

'Though who knows, the night's still young.'

Pushing through the crowds of classmates and gate-crashes, she saw a group off to one side, all clustered together around something.

'Or someone...'

Kim pushed her way through the crowd, fully expecting the source of the attention to be her best friend and his pet doing something revolting, embarrassing, or more than likely, both.

Instead, the crowd looked to have gathered around a few of her fellow cheerleaders, and two of them in particular. Sat on an armchair together, Jessica and Bonnie had an arm draped loosely over one another, and were in the middle of what seemed to be an overly performative display of public affection.

Kim groaned internally. Lately it had become the "in thing" for girls to be seen making out with one another at parties, so long as the girls in question were popular and attractive, of course, not to mention straight. It seemed a particularly cruel bit of irony to Kim that many of these same girls now putting on these displays had previously shunned and bullied other girls for even the mere suggestion that they may be attracted to another of their own sex.

'Fads can be downright weird sometimes...' she mused, as she turned around to continue the search for her sidekick. Just as she made to push her way back through the crowd, a snide voice caused her to freeze.

"What're you doing Kim?" Bonnie called out to the retreating hero. "It's a little late to go looking for a date now, prom is already finished. I suppose you could be getting a head-start for graduation, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you!"

Kim turned around to see Bonnie's smug expression staring back at her, smirk threatening to split her face in two.

"I'd have thought you'd have the most to worry about in that department, seeing as Brick finally graduated," she quipped back. "I'd say you're the one who needs a head-start, but it seems you already have," she added, gesturing at Jessica.

Even as she said it, Kim winced a little inside. 'That was uncalled for'.

"As if! Just 'cause you're the prude, don't go flinging that shit at me!" Bonnie snapped back.

"I AM NOT A PRUDE!" She yelled back, stomping a foot in frustration. Somehow, the other girl just always knew how to get under her skin.

"Really?" She pressed, smelling blood in the water, "Like, have you even made it to first base yet?"

Kim froze, if only for a split-second. 'Dangit...' she could hear the crowd whispering amongst itself, Bonnie was winning them over. "Pfft, obviously! No big!"

"So, what are you afraid of then? Scared you'll enjoy it?"

'How does she even do this? She makes out with another girl and still manages to accuse me of being the gay one?' "I'm so not going to make out with you Bonnie."

"Eww, no! Like obviously not!" The other girl hit back, a blush quickly spreading to her cheeks. She snatched the nearby Jessica by the shoulders and pushed her forward between the pair of them. "Jessica, obviously I meant Jessica".

Jessica looked annoyed by the manhandling, but otherwise unfazed by the exchange, and she shrugged at Kim. She was clearly used to going along with whatever it was Bonnie wanted, all-in-all not a bad survival strategy for dealing with the diva-like queen B.

"Come on, it'll be fun," Jessica smiled, taking a step closer to the red-head.

Kim felt a burst of adrenaline pump through her as her fight-or-flight instincts kicked in, and she moved to back away from the whole sitch. Behind her, she could sense the crowd moving in tighter, all of them desperate to see this scene play out.

'There's no way I'm making out with someone just for these idiots' enjoyment... But if I back out, everyone's going to think I'm a prude like Bonnie said! I can't let Bonnie win! Uggh, what am I going to do?'

Backed into a corner, figuratively and literally, she made the call. She put on her game face and stepped forward towards Jessica.

The other girl closed the distance between them, and lay a hand across the hero's shoulder, lifting her blue eyes up to meet wide and terrified olive ones.

'Oh crap, this is happening! Okay, stay calm, you can do this.' She reached out, and placed her hands on Jessica's hips, partially to try and put her back in control, but also for something to hold onto, to anchor her. 'Here goes nothing...'

Both girls moved their faces towards each other, the blonde tilting hers to one side slightly. Kim copied, tilting hers the other way, and closing her eyes just as their lips touched.

At first, it felt familiar enough; she had kissed boys before, and this wasn't all that different, except for the taste of the other girl's lip balm. Then, she felt Jessica's lips start to part, and she found herself in uncharted territory.

A hand placed itself at the back of her head, and delicate fingers entwined themselves in her hair. The tip of her fellow cheerleader's tongue then brushed against her lips, and almost instinctually she opened her mouth to allow it entry. It felt warm, and a little wet, but... Nice?

She tried to reciprocate the best she could, moving her own tongue against the others, and the sensation made her want to moan, which she fought down. 'I wonder what this would feel like with a boy...'

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a synthesised shutter sound. In an instant, her eyes snapped open and she pushed Jessica away. She turned toward the source of the noise, to find Bonnie with her flip-phone held at arm's length, taking pictures as quickly as her phone would let her.

"Don't stop for my sake Kim, I was just starting to get your good side. Well, what passes for your good side anyway," Bonnie scoffed, looking every bit the cat that had gotten the cream.

"What the hell Bonnie?" Jessica yelled, clearly not impressed with her friend manipulating her, or her taking potentially embarrassing photos.

Kim meanwhile may as well have turned to stone, having frozen in place after seeing Bonnie holding her camera-phone. 'Oh no! No-no-no-no-no! I'm such an idiot! Of course this was Bonnie's plan!'

"I think this would make a great addition to next year's yearbook, wouldn't you say Kim? Or why wait, when we could get it up on the Mad-dogs website by tomorrow?"

Bonnie's words impaled her just as surely as any spear would, and she found herself struggling to breathe, as her heart raced even faster. 'Oh my god, what would everyone think when they see that photo? What will my parents think? I am so, so dead!'

As the panic continued to rise within Kim, something changed. She wasn't sure if it was some hidden threshold that had been reached, or if she was still reeling from her battle with Shego (and betrayal by Eric) mere hours earlier, but something snapped within her.

Her arm shot out, and in one clean swipe, snatched the phone from Bonnie's fingers and slammed in straight into the wall, her palm bearing down on the hinges until it broke. While Bonnie stared at her in disbelief, she dropped the pieces of the broken handset into her bag and went to leave, moving as if on autopilot.

"What the fuck Kim? That was a brand new phone you freak!" Bonnie yelled after her once her own daze had broken.

Kim either didn't hear or didn't bother, continuing for the exit while the crowd wisely parted for her. On the way, she passed Ron, who appeared to be racing Rufus to see who could drink sachets of diablo sauce the fastest.

She stepped out onto the porch and the night air started to calm her down immediately. She thought back to her actions just two minutes ago and put her head in her hands. 'God I'm an idiot...'

She knew coming here was a mistake. 'Should've went back home after Bueño Nacho,' she thought, but then she probably would have been roped into cleaning up what was left of their living room, when all she really wanted to do was crawl into bed and cry over her boyfriend that had turned into a syntho-drone.

'Maybe I'll do that,' she mused as she took out her phone and called her father.

"Hey Kimmie, you need a lift home?"

"Yeah Dad, thanks," She replied, feeling absolutely exhausted all of a sudden. She gave him the address, and heard him grabbing his car keys.

"Won't be long."

True to his word, his car pulled up infront of the house before long, and Kim slid into the passenger seat without a word.

"No Eric?" He asked, looking towards the house for Kim's date.

"No Dad, there's no Eric any more," she replied, a rather literal statement, considering the events of Bueño Nacho HQ.

"He didn't try and force you to break the 'No Kissing Boys' rule, did he? Cause I can still arrange for a black hole if needs be," he replied, sounding deadly serious.

"No dad," she assured him as the car set off. "No kissing boys."
