Naming Ceremony

The Naming Ceremony is when all of the newchildren from the past year and named and given to couples. As always, the Chief Elder is in charge. S/he reads the baby's number and the Nurturer in charge of that newborn appears on the stage. Next the leader reads off the baby's name and calls a couple or family to the stage to receive their baby.

People believe that this ceremony is held just because families get new babies and because there is a ceremony for every age. The real purpose for this ceremony is to keep control, once again. This particular ceremony wants to keep parents from naming their kids something that holds a lot of meaning and is special, or it is too common. By pre-naming the babies, the committee can name each new child a different name.
