Hi! How is everyone! I hope you are all good. Anyway, this poem is about being exhausted and all that, which is an emotion Kaiba gains often; or so I imagine. Read on, my pretties!

Disclaimer: If I owned YuGiOh, Seto would be a bit nicer; keeping the egotistical charm though!

Back then…

The reason I stayed awake was because Gozaburou worked me

Into the late hours of the night and it always constantly irked me

How he could just sit there or leave the room for more than an hour

While staying awake took up most of my tiring will power.

And if he came back and found me in slumber he would yell

Waking me up and cursing me and driving me further into my hell.

Then he'd make me do twice the original work which left me numb

When I fell asleep without doing them he called me lazy and dumb.

Black rings laced my weary eyes and I felt like giving up so many times

And I longed for my childhood where I was sung to sleep with nursery rhymes

But I had to stay strong, for Mokuba at least, because if I failed

Then he would be the one worked to sleep, his sweet spirit jailed.

So life would remain that way for so long, with Him ruling us

He who would beat and starve us if we even began to make a fuss

When he jumped out the window after our confrontation; I had won

But even though we were free I lay awake for hours thinking about what I'd done.

And now…

Alertness is a necessity because to run a company you have to be ready to

Fix any mistakes or malfunctions that arise from right out of the blue

Those same black rings around my eyes, I find myself typing myself to sleep

And even when I happen to slumber, my dreams are never good or deep.

Those fools that are employees in my company, they can never be reliable

Even though they say they do their best their words are easily deniable

Too many times they have woken me to say "Mr Kaiba we need your assistance!"

What the heck do they need me for? I had hired them as my assistants!

Also, I sit at night time, shaking my head; mind filled with silent confusion

The times I'd rejected friends, like the time when upon my swift intrusion

Into the game store that pesky mutt offered me friendship and support

But I was fearful of how friends would affect my choices; my mind screamed "ABORT!"

And what is the use of sleeping anyway; you still have to get up again

For though sleeping can be bliss, it's only a temporary way to ease your pain

At the end of the day, after all the stocks are announced and completed are the trades

Even when your tortured mind is sleeping, your conscience never fades…

I dedicate the ending of that poem to Missy Higgins, because her song 'The Special Two' is playing on the radio, and I got inspiration from her! Thanks:

Mariku-san –Why should you be sorry? I'm not going to be angry at you if you believe a poem to be in someone's POV! Why aren't you allowed to watch anime? That is so terrible, I would hate to be banned from anime…poor you! (Hands you plushies and biscuits) The stone thing is when Kaiba is dueling Noah and he still has 300 life points left but Noah calls on Mokuba and threatens Kaiba, and Noah wants Seto's company, and eventually Mokie is freed, but then Noah turns them both to stone before they can embrace. It was so sad… Food productions? Is that an actual food or a new fic? Thanks for reviewing!

Like the lines from Candy Shop that just played on the radio… Yep, it's grammatically correct; my PC has spell and grammar check so if it wasn't correct this weird green line would have appeared under the line. Am I honestly the greatest poetry writer for YuGiOh? Cause if you mean that…that is such amazing praise…wow! I think Yugi's Light is better, but wow… I love seals! They are even cuter than dolphins!
