Hi everyone! I would like to welcome my friend Paige to the fic! She is a friend of mine from primary school! Hi Paige! Well, I have nothing much else to say apart from life sucks, and I am sad to be a part of it! Well, this poem is about promises. By the way, if you want to take a quiz on your knowledge on Seto Kaiba, go to my bio and on my fave web sites it is the second to last one, which says what it is about. If it isn't on my page, check again tomorrow because I only just added it and it takes twelve hours for your bio to be updated. So yeah…read on!
Disclaimer: I don't own YuGiOh!
The very first promise that he ever made was on the sad day his mother died
And that was to always love Mokuba; his new baby brother who loudly cried
Until Seto took him in his arms and looked into his dark storm-cloud blue eyes
And baby Mokuba stopped crying and smiled at Seto despite his mother's demise
Seto hugged the child close to him and buried his face in its raven-hued hair
For a few seconds as he breathed in his brother's sweet scent no one else was there
The next promise came five years later, when their father got into the accident
He swore to protect and look after Mokuba no matter what hardships were sent
When the orphanage children teased his brother and stole toys and Mokie sobbed
Seto stood up to them; standing Mokuba; at the orphanage their lives were robbed
And when Mokuba shivered at night and wanted someone to hold him to sleep
Seto wrapped his arms around his brother until they were both having dreams so deep
The very next promise came after four long years at that terrible, horrid place
When Seto saw Gozaburou walking through the orphanage with a sneering face
And he challenged that bastard, and to himself he swore that he'd win in that game
Unfortunately he kept that promise and defeated Gozaburou; things were never the same
He regretted that promise for the rest of the time he was stuck in that heel hole
And a nagging feeling of despair and remorse kept on berating his shattering and frail soul
The promise after that formed when Gozaburou began his rigorous training
To mold Seto into the former leader of Kaiba Corp; Seto's mind was draining
All the thoughts inside Seto's mind that still belonged to him were to always protect
Mokuba getting the same treatment from Gozaburou, to keep Mokuba's kind heart erect
While Seto's heart and soul collapsed into something unredeemable and cold
Mokuba stayed the same; though he was corrupted he was still sweet, kind, loving and bold.
The promise that was going to prove the hardest to achieve of all combined
Was to be free of Gozaburou, and leave all his torturing lectures so far behind
The nightmare would be gone from their lives and Seto would then be the winner
He still had a lot to learn for Seto was just a mere child, and so he was still a beginner
But in the end he'd won against the beast that had infiltrated their lives
For in the harsh industry called life only the one who constantly perseveres truly survives
The last promise he made before he turned his back on the world he'd repent
Was to never let friendship get in the way of his choices and cloud his judgment
So he put on a cold face that showed nothing but emptiness, arrogance and power
Whispering good bye to a world full of chances before his façade turned him cold and sour
No one knows if he will break this promise and let friends help him in anything
But for now he has kept his promise, and no one ever sees behind his Blue Eyes of suffering.
Wow, I just realized that Seto makes a lot of promises! Well, I really hope you liked it; it took me nearly an hour to write after all! Thanks to:
Samuraiduck27 –One of your faves? Really? Aw, thanks so much! I thought it was a good way to end the poem, and I am glad you agree! Thanks for reviewing!
Mariku-san –Do you have any idea how scary you are when you are hyper? Honestly, I was fearful for my life! I am glad you liked the poem! How can something be sad and angsty yet happy too? And don't worry, I wouldn't leave you; you are one of my favorite reviewers ever! How old before you move out of your home? You could move next year at the earliest, or the year after. I think if you are sixteen you make you own rules; I'm only thirteen but I stay up past midnight every night and my mum doesn't care… Thanks for reviewing!
Stormrose Dewleaf –Yeah, it does wear me down. I missed YGO this morning because of it, and it was the last Noah ep and I was so sad! I've gotten a whole lot of new messages; I have 32 messages, most of which are good! I haven't gotten your messages yet; stupid Quizilla! Thanks for rating them! I'm getting good messages for my story quiz! Thanks for reviewing!
Ceribi Motou –Yep, you are much adored! Being adored by someone is cooler than me! I'm not cool! The only thing I find cool about myself are my black shirts and my necklace with a dagger on it! Seto will always keep going, as Pegasus said: "No one could come back after such a devastating defeat! Well, no one except Kaiba that is!" or something like that! I'm awesome? I still can't get over that! (Blushes) I'm going to get an over-sized ego from this, but that's good! Thanks for reviewing!
Yugi's Light Keeps Me Pure –Seto has a passion in his soul that can never be exterminated. A passion for succession and achievement… it rocks! Those lines really captured his emotion personally? Wow…amazing! Thank you so much for your review!
PAIGISSIMO –HI PAIGE! How are you? Things going well since we last talked? I am so glad you loved the poem! It really shows another side of Seto? Great! He is like a blue eyes; cold, ruthless and powerful! I'll write sometime! Thanks for reviewing!
ttSerenity –Yes, I do like to write! But I'm so upset because Anne Rice won't let fanfic writers use her ideas, and she is my fave authoress, and I wanted to write a vampire fic based on her books, but NO, she won't let me! I hate it when sites get errors! It sucks… Thanks for reviewing, Tylenol.
Computerfreak101 –Yay, you reviewed! I was gonna update yesterday but I was waiting for your review to update; I didn't want you to miss out! No, it wasn't my best, but oh well; this is better. Thanks for reviewing!
Love Sami.
