Woot, yes! My fave song ever; as of yesterday, The Heart of the Cards was just playing on the yugioh dot com radio! Life rocks at the moment. Well, I'll shut up now, and say that this poem is about fate. Kind of why he doesn't believe in it as well. I think it should be good, but I still have to write it I guess. Read on!

As I sat pondering life's questions and answers I found myself slowly sinking
In a torrent of anger at destiny and fate, and couldn't understand what I was thinking
All I know is fate can't ever be real; it isn't real, and if it did it never found my life
Because if fate is real why did it kill my parents; put me and Mokie through that strife?
Why would fate murder two innocent people who had never set any foot wrong?
And cast their children to an orphanage where it was so hard to always remain strong?
Fate never wanted my family to last and gave it a swift and final death wish to eternity
To disrupt my family's communication, togetherness and eternally devoted loyalty.
First it killed my mother off but how it reached her soul I will never ever know
Then it took my father in that car crash, and how much that killed me I'll never show
Broken is the look Mokuba had on his face so often, now how can fate be so cruel?
He's a child! Only eleven years old and still he looks up to me when I act cold and cool
His eyes are clouded by questioning and guilt; he feels it's his fault our mother's dead
But I take him in my arms and soothe his fears and lay a kiss on his soft forehead
"You didn't ask to be born, kid," I whispered, "It wasn't your fault; don't blame yourself!"
Because I knew it was fate's fault that mother died, and left no dust on its dirty shelf
Hurt yet soothed eyes gazed back at me and told me they accepted my words that night
I could never forget that look on his face when he told me he loved me and it was alright
So I couldn't bear to lose him when fate turned to drive Pegasus to kidnap my brother
And held him captive in that castle, while me and Mokuba called out in vain to one another
Mokuba was saved, but then he kept getting kidnapped; by Marik, Noah and then Bakura
All of these people after something from me and they had taken things way too far
We fight against destiny, Mokuba and I, for it tore our families and souls apart so much
That they can't be mended even after all these years, and fall away at any random touch
One day I couldn't take anymore, all the lies, the suffering, the abuse, neglect and hate
Because fate had always turned it's back on me, finally, I turned my back on fate.
Okay, well, yeah, that was the poem. Shorter than I wanted but whatever. Um, I would like to thank:
