A/N: Welcome to the start of my new crossover based on the one-shot I made in February 2022! This crossover is something I've been wanting to do since 2021, so I really hope you look forward to this as it progresses. However, I want to clarify something. For the moment, progress on this fic will happen in between my current two fanfics (Superb Song of the Fate-Defying Valkyrie and Symphogear R). Once I finish one of those (Namely the former of the two) I will have this fic take over its place in my schedule.

That being said, one final note: I do not own either Dragon ball/Z/GT/Super or Senki Zesshou Symphogear. Those belong to Akira Toriyama and Akifumi Kaneko.

And lastly, shoutout to jhondb2013 on twitter for the cover picture of this fanfic.

Without further ado, please enjoy the first chapter of Sympho-Ball!

A Fateful Encounter! Goku Kazanari's Origin.

Age: 2021
Planet Vegeta

On the outskirts of the city, a man carries a space pod in his arms while a woman follows closely behind him. "Isn't there another option?" The woman pleads. "Let's think about this!"

"No. It's the only choice." The man states. "If I turn out to be wrong about this, I'll go and rescue him myself."

"But, in that case, why don't the three of us run off somewhere together?" The woman suggests.

"We can't. They'd use their damn scouters and track us down in no time." The man says.

"Bardock... Why are you going through all of this trouble?" The woman asks. "It's not like a Saiyan man to worry about his children, so what's gotten into you?"

"I don't know..." Bardock answers. "Maybe, because I'm always fighting, destroying, that I'd actually like to save something for once. Especially someone who was judged to be a lower class warrior, like my Kakarot."

As he said this, Bardock placed the pod he was carrying in the empty field himself and the woman following him were standing in, allowing them to look at their son, Kakarot, for what could've been the final time. Of course, seeing that he was merely a newborn, he was distraught at being separated from his parents.

"I've programmed this pod to head to a distant planet called 'Earth'." Bardock states. "The people on that planet have low power levels and aren't technologically advanced. I think he'll be able to do well there, Gine. Good thing is it's not an extremely valuable world, so I'm hoping it won't even show up on the Frieza Force's radar."

The woman, Gine, looked at their son. "If your father is wrong about this, then we'll come and get you immediately." She said to Kakarot.

Bardock stepped closer to the pod as well. "Listen son, you do what it takes to survive, got it?" He requested of Kakarot, who only looked at his father with a confused expression on his face.

"We'll see you real soon." Gine said to the child as herself and Bardock placed their hands on the glass window of the pod, while Kakarot placed his hands where his parent's were.

"...Goodbye..." With his father's final words to him, Kakarot's pod started to leave the ground.

"Don't forget us, Kakarot!" Gine shouted just before the pod blasted off into the depths of space. Heading for its final destination on the planet Earth...

Kazanari Mansion

In a forest close to the Kazanari residence, a boy in his late teens and a man who looked to be roughly middle-aged were in the middle of an intense sparring match. Each of them were able to keep up with one another relatively easily. "I'm impressed, boy." The man says, a small smirk growing on his face. "Before, this would've been over in seconds..."

The boy chuckled from the praise. "Heh, spare me the compliments, father. I still have yet to show you what I'm truly capable of!" He said.

"And you've put your ego in check, it seems." Another boy says, watching from the sidelines of the fight. "Perhaps this time father won't have to punish you for being a sore, inevitable loser, Genjuro."

Genjuro scoffed. "As if I'll go down that easily this time, Yatsuhiro." He said. "Just sit back and watch me win, then we'll see who'll say-" As he was busy speaking with Yatsuhiro, Genjuro's father landed a strike on the boy's stomach, sending him to the ground immediately.

"I told you so." Yatsuhiro mocks, finishing Genjuro's sentence.

"Never take your focus off of the enemy, boy!" The man said. "Even a single moment of distraction is all an enemy needs to pull out a victory. Be sure to remember that for next time."

Genjuro groaned as he got up from the ground. However, as he did, he noticed something strange falling from the night sky, seemingly getting closer the longer he looked. "Umm, father?" He says, pointing at the strange object.

The man and Yatsuhiro looked and were equally as confused. However, before he could go to investigate it, he received a call. "This is Fudo."

"Sir! A mysterious object has entered Earth's atmosphere and is heading for your residence!" A man reported.

"I'm aware." Fudo responds. "I shall handle this matter myself." With that, he hung up the phone. "Get ready, boy!" Doing the best he could, Genjuro got to his feet quickly and prepared for whatever was coming their way.

Within minutes, the object crash landed in the forest. The three followed the trail it left as it crashed, before they came across the object in a crater: A space pod. "What... Is it?" Genjuro asked.

"How are we supposed to know, Gen?" Yatsuhiro retorts.

Suddenly, the pod opened. Seconds later, a child in black and yellow armor groggily crawled out, as if they had just woken up from a nap. "A child?" Genjuro said aloud.

"Something seems... off about this child." Yatsuhiro commented.

Genjuro scoffed. "C'mon, what do you think a kid like that will do? Become some giant monster?" He teased. However, as he said this, the child froze and his tail started to twitch as he stared straight at the Full Moon in the sky. Moments later, the child began to grow rapidly in size, transforming into what appeared to be a gigantic ape as it let out a massive roar.

Fudo, surprised by the inhuman transformation of the child, began to charge into the clearing, pulling out a katana he always had close to his side. "Stay back, you two." He says, before charging into battle with the ape.

The battle between Fudo and the ape raged on, but no matter how hard the swordsman tried, he could do little to no damage to the ape or his armor. Eventually, the ape managed to knock the sword out of Fudo's reach, the sword landing right next to the boys. At first, Fudo tried to dash over to the sword, but the ape did everything in his power to ensure he couldn't, leaving Fudo with no other choice but to fight with his bare hands. "This ape is giving father trouble?!" Yatsuhiro gasps. "How is this possible?"

Genjuro didn't answer, instead he began to think. After some time, he came up with an idea. "Hey, brother, I have an idea." Genjuro says. "How good are you with swords?"

"I know my way around them, but I fail to see what you're planning." Yatsuhiro answers.

"When that child transformed, his tail started twitching beforehand." Genjuro states.

"So?"

"So, what if that thing is the reason why he's able to transform?" Genjuro suggested. "And if it is, could cutting it off revert him back into a child?"

Yatsuhiro thought about this, before giving a disapproving look to his brother. "Gen, don't be ridiculous! This isn't one of your Action Movies where a solution like that could solve everything!" He says, before the air was filled by the sounds of Fudo shouting in pain.

Seeing this, Genjuro glanced at his brother. "Even if the idea sounds ridiculous, it's leagues better than sitting here and watching our father die!" He says, walking over to the katana and holding it out to his brother. "So either you can help me save him, or sit here and watch us fight this thing. What will it be?"

Yatsuhiro looked at his brother, then his father, then back at his brother before swallowing his pride. "Fine, I'll follow your ridiculous plan for once." He sighs. "But if this fails, I'm not trusting any plan you have, no matter how sane."

Genjuro could live with that. "Thank you!" He says. "Now then, here's the plan..."

Back with Fudo, he did everything he could to survive, but he was slowly but surely being whittled down, before being knocked to the ground. Battered and bruised, Fudo could do nothing but helplessly await the death that this ape was about to bring. However, as the ape's giant foot started to hover over his body, it suddenly stopped. "Wh-What?"

"Yatsuhiro! Now!" Genjuro shouts, pulling the ape back by the tail with all of his strength.

Moments later, Yatsuhiro charged at the ape's tail, jumping into the air before cleanly slicing through it like a hot knife through butter. The sound of the tail falling to the ground echoed throughout the forest as Yatsuhiro landed and turned to see the ape frozen in place. "Did the plan fail?"

Eventually, the ape started to shrink in size, falling back to the ground head-first, knocking himself unconscious. "Alright!" Genjuro cheers.

With the ape slain, the boys go help Fudo back to his feet, explaining what happened to him. "Hmph, not bad, boy." Fudo says to Genjuro. "Now then, to dispose of this monster."

"Wh-What?!" Genjuro gasps. "But he's just a kid!"

"This 'kid' could've been sent here by an enemy nation in an attempt to destroy Japan." Fudo explains, taking the sword back from Yatsuhiro as he went to approach the unconscious child. "For the good of Japan, he must be killed before he is to become a threat to us all!"

Fudo began to raise the sword over his head, ready to kill the child, but Genjuro stepped in front of him. "I won't let you!"

"Boy, get out of my way!"

"I will do no such thing!" Genjuro retorts. "Even if he was sent here as a means to kill us all, I believe this could be an opportunity for the better of Japan!" Genjuro was well aware of his father's goals to make Japan the greatest country, so he swallowed his pride and used it to try and save the child's life. "He's still young, meaning I could raise him to fight for us instead of whoever sent him!"

Fudo, surprised by Genjuro's words, started to lower his sword. "You? Raising this child?" Fudo asks, before laughing at the plea. "And how am I to believe you could handle raising a child?"

"I'll show you, personally, that I can!" Genjuro says with an extremely serious expression on his face. "And if I fail, then I'll take full responsibility for his actions."

Fudo, now intrigued by what Genjuro was saying, impressed that he was willing to practically lay down his own life for this child, sheathed his sword. "Very well, boy. I shall humor your request." Fudo says, starting to walk towards the Kazanari Mansion. "The boy is your responsibility from this moment forward. Do not disappoint me."

With that, Fudo left the boys to deal with the child. "I'm impressed, Genjuro." Yatsuhiro said. "But I have to ask, why risk your own life for this child?"

"I'm quite sure." Genjuro chuckles. "I just felt that, if I said nothing and let father kill him, I wouldn't be able to rest easily. I'm not sure how else to describe it."

"I believe that means you're finally maturing as a person." Yatsuhiro states. "And I, for one, am glad to see that you are."

"Thanks?" Genjuro replies, unsure if that was an off-handed insult or a compliment, deciding to take it as the latter. "Now then, let's get this kid some medical attention. I'm sure he needs a medical check-up after landing on his head, among other various injuries caused by us." Saying this, Genjuro picked up the child and carried him to the mansion.

"One last thing, seeing that he is technically your child now, do you have an idea as to what you want to name him?" Yatsuhiro asked. "That is, assuming we're unable to find out what his name is from that strange pod he came out of?"

Genjuro didn't really think about that at first, but now that the topic's been brought up, he began to think. "Well, seeing that he had that monkey tail, I was thinking something like... Goku?"

"As in Son Goku, The Monkey King?" Yatsuhiro asks.

"Exactly!" Genjuro exclaims.

With that decided, the boys hurried home to get the child the proper medical assistance he needed. As for what awaited Genjuro and his adoptive son, Goku Kazanari? Only time would tell...

Age 2031
Genjuro Kazanari's Residence

True to his word, Genjuro Kazanari adopted the young Goku as his own son. At first, it was difficult for the headstrong Kazanari to raise the child to the point he had to receive help from other people, such as the scientist Ryoko Sakurai, who Goku treated like a motherly figure after the first few visits... As long as she didn't have any medical needles for shots near her.

As the years went by, Genjuro had fewer difficulties raising Goku, especially after he was able to realize that Goku was learning a lot more when he watched action movies with him. In a way, this touched Genjuro more than anything else. If anything, this was the motivation Genjuro needed to fully train Goku as if he was his student. And so, Goku's childhood started to come together: He'd train with Genjuro in the morning, go with him to work in the afternoon (which also helped him improve his social skills), and watch action movies with Genjuro in the evening.

In recent years, since he was old enough to the point that he could be trusted to watch over their home while Genjuro was at work, Goku's afternoons consisted of either training by himself, or watching over his younger cousin, Tsubasa Kazanari, when Yatsuhiro wasn't able to. At first, the young Kazanari was shy around Goku. But, as time went on, the two Kazanari cousins started sharing their hobbies: Goku would sometimes train Tsubasa in the basics of martial arts, and he would sometimes sing with Tsubasa. Sure, Goku may not have been able to properly train during those session due to Tsubasa being so young and he may not have been the best singer, but he saw her like the younger sister he didn't have and she saw him as the older brother that would always set time aside for her, and that's all that mattered at the end of the day.

However, like all good things, sometimes they have to end. One day, while Goku was training with Tsubasa, a knock on the door was heard, which left Goku wide open for a surprise jab to the stomach that he wasn't ready for. "Oof!" He exclaims.

"Goku-niisan!" Tsubasa gasps. "I'm sorry! Are you okay? I didn't mean to hurt you..."

Goku patted her on the head. "I'm okay, Tsubasa. I will say though, your punches are getting a lot better!" He says with a chuckle. As he said this, the knocking at the door was heard again. "You hear that too, right?"

Tsubasa nods. "Someone's at the door. But who else could it be besides Father or Uncle Genjuro?"

"Let's find out." Goku says, walking over to the door. Once he reaches the door, he calls out to whoever was on the other side. "Who is it?"

"...I-I'm looking for Genjuro Kazanari." A feminine voice called out from the other side of the door. Hearing this, Goku opened the door to see a light blue haired girl who could've only been a few years older than himself. "Who are you?"

"I'm Genjuro's son, Goku Kazanari." He says, introducing himself to the stranger. "But who are you?"

"Bulma-kun?" Another voice called out from behind the girl, whose name was Bulma. "What are you doing here?"

"Ah, Genjuro-san!" Bulma says. "I was wondering if I could ask for your help with something."

Genjuro was confused, but was willing to hear the girl out. "I can't guarantee I can help if it's anything like what I see your father do at HQ, but I'm willing to hear you out." He says, motioning for the girl to enter his house. "Oh! Goku, this is Bulma Brief, daughter of Dr. Brief. I'm sure you remember the Doctor when you were younger?"

Hearing this, Goku was surprised. "Dr. Brief has a daughter?!" He gasps. "I'm sorry for being on guard, Bulma-san! Your dad's a really cool guy!"

"No worries, Goku-san." Bulma replies. "If anything, I was just as surprised to find out Genjuro-san has a son."

With that out of the way, Goku, Bulma, Genjuro, and Tsubasa all gathered in the living room to hear out the scientist's daughter's request. "So, what seems to be the issue, Bulma-kun?"

Without hesitation, Bulma pulled an orange orb with 2 stars on it from her bag. "Do you know about these by any chance?" She asks.

"A Dragon Ball?!" Genjuro gasps, startling Tsubasa and Goku. "Where did you get that?"

"I found it during a trip overseas to America." Bulma answers. "I've heard rumors about these and started to study what this ball was capable of."

"Then I'm assuming that means you're aware of the fact that there are six more scattered across the world?" Genjuro asks, receiving a nod from the girl.

"I'm confused, what's so special about this ball, Dad?" Goku asks.

"Goku, that is a Dragon Ball." Genjuro states. "Legend says that there are seven scattered across the world, and once someone gathers all seven, they are able to wish for anything they want. However, no one has been able to gather all seven for many centuries."

"How come?"

"Well, that's because the Balls have never been found. And if they have been, then whoever has them has been keeping them hidden very well." Genjuro continues.

"Much like you have, sir?" Bulma asks, receiving a shocked glare from the man.

"How do you know about that Ball?"

Answering Genjuro's question, Bulma pulls out a device that looks like a simple stopwatch out of her bag. "With this." She says as she clicked the button on the top of the device, revealing two small dots on a green background. "I've programmed this radar I created to be able to detect the locations of all seven Dragon Balls in the world. I call it, 'The Dragon Radar'!"

Genjuro's concerned glare turned into a softer grin. "Heh. I guess you really are your father's daughter, huh?" He says. "So I'm assuming that's why you're here?"

"Well... Partially..." Bulma says. "I also wanted to ask for your help in collecting the Dragon Balls, if you could? I would really like to gather them all so I could find out if the rumors were true or not."

Genjuro's soft grin turned into a more solemn one. "As much as I would love to, Bulma-kun, I'm afraid I have to decline your request... for both my assistance in your journey and for you to have the Dragon Ball."

Hearing this, Bulma looked as if her dreams had been shattered right before her eyes. "But... Why?"

"Between taking care of Goku, my job, and many other things, I'm afraid I can't allot enough time for a worldwide journey." Genjuro states. "As for the Dragon Ball, I may trust you and your family, but I fear what could become of it if you were to run into trouble from others who may be seeking out the Dragon Balls as well... I'm sorry, Bulma-kun..."

"Wait!" Goku spoke up. "What if I went with her? Would you let her take it then?"

"Goku?" Genjuro asks, surprised that he would request something like that. However, instead of outright saying no, Genjuro had a question for him. "Do you realize what you're requesting? There's a good chance you and Bulma-kun will run into all sorts of trouble on this quest to prove a rumor true or false. Are you sure you can handle it?"

Goku looks his adoptive father in the eyes. "If I learned anything from you, it's that I'll only know that I'm ready when I can face a challenge without any hesitation." He states. "Well, I believe I'm ready for what may come for us!"

Genjuro continued to stare back at his adoptive son, before finally closing his eyes and letting out a proud smirk. "...I've taught you well, Goku." He says, before turning to Bulma again. "Bulma-kun, as long as Goku accompanies you on your quest, I shall allow you to have the Dragon Ball."

Bulma practically beamed with excitement upon hearing this. "Thank you, Genjuro-san!" She cheers, giving Genjuro a hug.

"Hey now, don't thank me, thank Goku." Genjuro says. "It was his idea, after all."

"Right." She replies, going over to hug Goku. "Thank you, Goku-san!"

"H-Hey, no worries!" Goku says, surprised by the sudden hug. "But, could we wait until tomorrow to leave? I know I'll need to pack my things if I'm gonna be joining you on a journey across the world."

"Works for me. I'll come by to pick you up tomorrow then." Bulma replies as she heads for the door. "See you tomorrow!"

Later that night, after Bulma had left, Genjuro prepared Tsubasa a bed in Goku's room. "Yatsuhiro isn't able to come pick you up until the morning, Tsubasa." He says before turning to Goku. "I hope you don't mind sharing your room with your cousin."

"Not at all!" Goku says.

"Good." Genjuro replies. "Alright, now you two be sure to get plenty of rest. Especially you, Goku."

"Yes, sir!"

Genjuro smiles at his son and niece as he walks to the door. "I'll show you the Dragon Ball first thing in the morning so Bulma-kun won't have to wait for us." He says, before he stops at the door. "...Son, I'm counting on you to keep her safe, as well as ensuring that you protect the Dragon Ball."

"I won't let you down, Dad!" Goku says, receiving a satisfied nod from Genjuro before he closes the door.

With that said, Goku starts getting ready for bed... Until Tsubasa finally spoke up after hours of saying nothing. "Goku-niisan... Are you sure you have to leave?" She asks. "Aren't you scared?"

Goku sat up when Tsubasa asked this. "Well, to be honest, I am a little scared." He admits. "But, if I'm going to become a strong Martial Artist like Dad, I have to go out into the world and prove myself."

"But... If you go, then there's a chance you'll never come back..." Tsubasa started to sniffle audibly, which made Goku realize what Tsubasa was trying to say. "And if you don't come back, then I'll never get to see you again..."

Goku smiled at his cousin as he got out of bed to give her a reassuring hug. "Tsubasa, even if my trip around the world goes on for several years, I promise you I'll come back." He says.

"But..."

"Hey, Dad's having you come in next week to try and activate Ryoko-san's new relic invention, yeah?" Goku says, trying to change the subject. "What was it called again? A Sympho..."

"Symphogear." Tsubasa answers.

"That's the one!" Goku exclaims. "You see, they tried to have me activate it, but it didn't work for me."

"But why not?" Tsubasa wonders.

"Guess I wasn't as good of a singer as I thought." Goku chuckles. "But you, Tsubasa, I'm more than certain you'll have no trouble activating it. Because you're leagues better at singing than I could ever be!"

Tsubasa started to blush from the compliment. "Th-Thanks, Goku-niichan."

"That being said, I have a request for you, Tsubasa." Goku says, piquing the girl's interest. "When you activate that Symphogear, I want you to do two things with it: One, I want you to use it to help as many people as you can. And two, I want you to continue becoming stronger. So that way, when we meet again, we can show each other how much we've grown over however long I'm gone. Can you do that for me?"

Tsubasa wiped the tears from her eyes before looking at Goku again. "I promise, Goku-niisan! I will become the strongest protector I can be!" She promises. "But you better come back, alright?"

"I promise." Goku says, patting his cousin on the head. "Now let's get some sleep. Goodnight, Tsubasa."

"Goodnight, Goku-niisan." Tsubasa says, finally able to fall asleep thanks to Goku's promise.

Goku waited until he was certain Tsubasa was asleep before he went to his own bed. "I'm sure you're gonna do great, Tsubasa. You just gotta believe in yourself." Once he was finally able to see his cousin was fast asleep, he went to his own bed to get some sleep himself.

The following day

The next day, Goku and Genjuro did some sparring in the morning before Bulma arrived. While it was still clear that Genjuro had the upper hand over Goku, the latter still managed to keep his father on his toes. "Not bad, Goku!" Genjuro says, praising his son's efforts. "Okay. I think that's a good place to leave it for now. Bulma-kun will probably be here soon, so I better make sure you're ready for her. Wait here."

Goku watched with confusion as Genjuro went inside to grab a few things. As he waited, he noticed Tsubasa still seemed a little down like she did last night. "Everything okay, Tsubasa?"

Tsubasa jumped when Goku asked her this. "O-Oh, yeah." She says. "It's just... I'm going to miss being able to spend time with you, Goku-niisan."

Goku smirked. "I'm gonna miss that, too... But hey, I'm sure you'll meet someone who you'll come to enjoy spending time with the same way we have." He says. "And, like I said last night, I will eventually come back, so it's not the end, okay?"

Tsubasa nodded. "Okay."

Just then, Genjuro emerged from the house, holding a necklace with an orange orb tied to it. Inside of the orb were four red stars, which Goku and Tsubasa immediately focused their attention to. "Dad? Is that what I think it is?"

Genjuro nodded. "Yep. This is a Dragon Ball, just like the one Bulma-kun brought over yesterday." He says as he hands the necklace to Goku. "I found it when I went on my own journey around the world when I was your age."

Goku looked at the ball with awe for a moment, before returning his gaze to Genjuro. "I promise that I won't let this fall into the wrong hands!"

Genjuro smirked. "I know you will." Suddenly, a small convertible car drives up to the front yard of Genjuro's home. "Ah, perfect timing. Good morning, Bulma-kun!"

"Good morning, Genjuro-san." Bulma replies, before turning to Goku. "Are you ready to go, Goku-san?"

"Almost. There's just one last thing I need to do before we leave." Goku replies, walking over to Tsubasa one last time. As he walked over to her, he pulled something out from his pocket and held it out to Tsubasa in a closed fist. "I want you to have this, Tsubasa."

Goku placed the object in Tsubasa's hands. When she got a better look at it, she saw that Goku had given her. "A monkey?"

Goku chuckled as he pointed to his tail. "I wanted to give you something to remember me by before I left. So I'm giving you one of the figurines I've gotten from the people at Dad's job over the years." He says. "Almost forgot I had it in my pocket, though. Hehehe."

Tsubasa started to tear up at Goku's thoughtfulness. "Goku-niisan..."

Goku pulled Tsubasa in for a hug. "I know you're gonna do great, Tsubasa. And, even if I may not be able to be there to see your accomplishments, I can at least give you something to let you know that I'll always be cheering you on, no matter what!"

Tsubasa couldn't hold back her tears any longer as she started to cry into Goku's arms. "Th-Thank you, Goku-niisan..." She says through choked breaths. "I'm going to miss you!"

"I'm gonna miss you too, Tsubasa." Goku says, patting Tsubasa on the head as she lets all of her tears out. "Well, I better not keep Bulma-san waiting for too much longer. See you around!"

Tsubasa let go of Goku as he walked towards Bulma. "See you..."

With that being said, Goku then walked over to Genjuro. "Thanks again, Dad. For everything." He says.

Genjuro chucked. "Even if there were some times that you gave your old man some trouble, I still enjoyed every moment that I have been able to call you my son, Goku." He says. "Be safe out there. And remember, if there's a full moon, don't look at it unless you have no other choice, got it?"

Goku was confused by his father's last request before he left, but he still nodded anyway. "I promise!"

"Good. Now I believe that you've made Bulma-kun wait long enough." Genjuro jokingly says. "Good luck out there!"

"Yes, sir!" Goku says as he runs over to Bulma. "Okay, I'm ready now!"

Bulma smirked. "About time. Now let's get going!" She says as she opens the door to the passenger's seat of her car. "Thanks again, Genjuro-san!"

"Good luck, you two!" Genjuro replies as the two drive off on a worldwide adventure.

The Kazanaris kept watching until Goku and Bulma were out of sight before they went back inside. As they walked back in, Tsubasa looked down at the figurine Goku gave her, holding it tightly. "I'll make you proud, Goku-niisan..."

Age 2040
Lydian Dorms

Nine years later, Tsubasa did exactly what she promised to Goku that she would do: She successfully awakened the Ame no Habakiri Symphogear and then went on to become the strongest Wielder that she could while following her dreams to become an idol.

This wasn't something she had to accomplish alone, though. A couple years ago, Section Two rescued a girl by the name of Kanade Amou from a Noise attack at Mt. Minakami. The girl in question desired nothing more than revenge against the very things that killed off her family, giving her the will to activate Section Two's other Symphogear relic, the Gungnir.

While her sights were set on using this power for revenge at first, she eventually came up with the idea for herself and Tsubasa to sing not just in battle, but for people everywhere. This led to the formation of the idol duo known as Zwei Wing.

For now, Tsubasa and Kanade lived a very quiet lifestyle, as quiet as being a Symphogear Wielder/Idol could be that is. And with another mission wrapped up, Tsubasa looked for a place to be alone as she pulled out something that she's kept to herself for the past nine years: Goku's figurine. "Well Goku, I've done it. Just like I promised, I've become a strong protector with my sword and my dream of singing for the whole world to hear has become a reality slowly but surely." She proudly whispers to the figurine. "I just hope everything has been going well for you and your journey with Dr. Brief's daughter."

"Who're ya talkin' to, Tsubasa?" Kanade asks, startling Tsubasa.

"K-Kanade? How long have you been standing there?" Tsubasa asks, her cheeks red with embarrassment.

"Um... I live here, too?" Kanade says. "I know you like to have some alone time, but you've been sneaking off an awful lot the past few days. Is everything alright?"

Tsubasa sighed. "Sorry to worry you, Kanade. But I can assure you that I'm fine." She says.

"So who were you talking to then?" Kanade asks again.

"I suppose you deserve to know more than anyone..." Tsubasa replies, showing Kanade the monkey figurine. "You see, I've been sneaking off to talk to this."

Kanade looks at the figurine, then back at Tsubasa, then back and forth between the two a few times. "O...Kay...?" Kanade says hesitantly. "And you're sure that you're okay?"

Tsubasa chuckled when Kanade asked this. "I should probably explain why I talk to this." Tsubasa says. "You see, this figurine was given to me by my cousin, Goku, before he left on a journey around the world with Dr. Brief's daughter, Bulma."

"That... Still doesn't explain why you're talkin' with it in private." Kanade bluntly says.

"I'm getting to that." Tsubasa continues. "Goku gave me this figurine as a way to tell me that, no matter where in the world he was, or whatever he was doing, he would always be cheering me on. So, in a way, I've used this figurine as a way to feel like he was still here."

Kanade smirked at this explanation. "Sounds like you and this Goku guy were really close. I mean, yeah, he's your cousin, but you know what I mean."

Tsubasa returned Kanade's smirk with one of her own. "Goku was more like an older brother to me than he was a cousin." Tsubasa says. "There isn't a day that goes by where I don't miss him..."

Suddenly, Tsubasa's communicator goes off. Genjuro was calling her. "This is Tsubasa." She says. "Kanade is with me."

"Tsubasa, I need you two to come to HQ ASAP." Genjuro says. "I'll explain more once you're here."

"Roger. We'll be there shortly." Tsubasa says. "We need to go to HQ."

"Ugh... More Noise?" Kanade groans.

"The Commander didn't say what the issue was, just that we needed to get there soon." Tsubasa says, which confused Kanade as much as Tsubasa was already. Regardless, the duo hurried to HQ.

Section Two HQ

With Genjuro's order, the Zwei Wing duo quickly head for Section Two's HQ. Once they arrive, they hurried to the command center, where Genjuro was waiting for them outside of the room in question. "We came as soon as we could." Tsubasa reports.

"What seems to be the problem, boss?" Kanade asks. "Another Noise sighting?"

"Nothing like that this time, Kanade." Genjuro says. "In fact, I called you here because there's someone who would like to see you, Tsubasa."

Tsubasa wondered who Genjuro could be referring to, until a shocking realization came to her. "You don't mean..."

Genjuro smirked. "Go ahead and see for yourself."

Curious, Tsubasa walked into the command center to see who was waiting for her. When she stepped inside, she noticed a man in an orange and blue martial artist's gi talking with Ryoko. "I gotta admit, this invention you've been working on with my dad sounds really exciting, Ryoko!" The man says enthusiastically. "I'd really like to try it out once it's finished."

"Rest assured, once it's finished, you'll be the first person I ask to test it out." Ryoko replies, which excited the man further. Just then, Ryoko noticed Tsubasa and Kanade entering the command center out of the corner of her eye. "Oh? Looks like she's finally here, Goku-san."

Tsubasa's heart skipped a beat when she heard that name. "Goku?"

The man turned around to face Tsubasa, a smile appearing on his face as he made eye contact with her. "It's been quite some time, Tsubasa." He says. "How've ya been?"

Tsubasa didn't say anything at first, which worried Goku. But suddenly, without hesitation, she ran over to Goku and gave him a hug. "You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you again, Goku." She finally says. "There's so much that I want to tell you."

Goku chuckled. "I've got quite a lot to share with you myself. Hehehe." He says, before he notices Kanade, who was just speechless in his presence. "Who's your friend, Tsubasa?"

"This is my partner, Kanade Amou." Tsubasa says before turning to face Kanade. "Kanade, this is my cousin, Goku."

"I can see that." Kanade says, still in shock.

"Is everything okay, Kanade." Tsubasa asks.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." Kanade replies. "It's just that, when you said your cousin's name was Goku, I didn't think you meant THAT Goku!"

"Wait, we've met before?" Goku asks.

"'Met'? You saved my life a few years ago!" Kanade exclaims, which Goku tilted his head in confusion towards. "Don't you remember? After you saved my life, I gave you and your blue-haired friend that ball those Red Ribbon soldiers were after."

"I remember you." A voice calls out from behind Kanade as someone else enters the room. "The girl from the cave, right?"

"Ah, there you are, Bulma-kun!" Genjuro says, greeting the person who entered the room. "Girls, I also want to introduce you to Dr. Brief's daughter and Ryoko-kun's new assistant, Bulma Brief. I know Tsubasa was there when she recruited Goku for the 9-year journey they were on, but it seems that you've already met her as well, Kanade."

"It seems so..." Kanade says.

"I'm sure there's a story behind that." Tsubasa says.

Kanade chuckled nervously. "Well, it looks like I have some stuff to share as well now. Hehe..."

Next time on Sympho-Ball...

Hey! It's me, Goku!

Man, it sure feels nice to be able to talk with Tsubasa again after so long! Hearing about what she and her friend have been up to is truly something else.

But now it makes me wonder just how much stronger they've gotten!

Next time on "Sympho-Ball":

The long-awaited promise fulfilled. Goku vs. Zwei Wing!

Don't miss it!

A/N: And with that, we conclude the first chapter of Sympho-Ball!

Now, I want to get this out of the way before everyone asks: "Why did I skip Dragon Ball?"

Well, aside from a few parts I plan to show as the fic goes through the Symphogear arcs, Dragon Ball would relatively be the same, except for Goku being a bit stronger from his canonical Dragon Ball self, which would make up to before General Blue much easier for him than the original.

That being said, I'm not going to go straight into the first arc of the story just yet. As the next chapter's title teases, there's one more thing I need to cover before we bring in the rest of the cast :)

Anyways, thank you for reading this chapter. I shall see you all in the next one!
