And here is my new chapter…sorry that it had take this long

CHAPTER 4

More than three month had passed since the mission on PQ73X.

Jack and Sam are together, living in Jacks house when on downtime. A secret just between the two of them. They haven't told anyone. Not Daniel nor Teal'c nor Janet.

Not that they didn't trust them, but they tried to prevent that their friends get into trouble because knowing of the relationship. Besides they feared their reaction to their relationship a little bit.

Both of them were on their way to the commissary when Daniel turned the corner very excited and nearly ran into them.

"Wohoo…Where do you want to go so frantically?" Jack asked.

"I finished the translations."

"Which translations?"

"The writings from PQ73X."

"PQ7…what?" Jack asked lightly confused.

"The planet with this mix of mayan and chinese culture."

"Ah yes. And in conclusion to your excitement I guess we will pay it another visit!"

"I hope so." with that he left them alone in the corridor and sprinted further in the direction of Hammonds office.

"So do we still go to the commissary or better immediately to Hammond?"

Sam looked questioning at Jack and shortly thought about it.

"Commissary. If Hammond agrees with Daniel we'll be called anyway. So why should we pass our rare spare time in front of Hammonds office?"

"So…" Jack made an inviting gesture in the direction of the commissary and added "After you Major."

Sam smiled at him and both walked in the direction Jack showed.

When Daniel reached Hammonds office he had to stop shortly and take a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"Come in."

"Good morning General. You told me to come to you when I finished the translations."

"Did you find anything interesting?"

"Yes absolutely. It's incredible. These people simply disappeared, one after another."

"Kidnapped from goa'ulds?"

"No. The writings say that Mao Li uttered a 'blessing' over the whole planet, which should keep every evil away from the planet. Apparently did this blessing change into a curse, because since that every 'bad' action had been punished."

"And what happened to this people?"

"They say that they were banished to an eternal life in darkness. I first thought they landed in a cave or something like that, like Jack and Teal'c did when we found Thors Hammer, but that's not the case."

"What is it then?"

"It's also written that the protector of love and good, how Mao Li named himself, will wait on the planet until mankind learns to love again."

"That's a very nice story, but I can't send a team there to hunt after a fairy tale."

"It's not a hunt after a fairy tale. I think that what is written there could be technology to help defeating the goa'ulds. And the part with the waiting Mao Li could indicate that this device even existed after the inhabitants vanished."

"That sounds very nice, but your theory has some gaps:

When this is a goa'uld trap, why did all these people disappear? Who had recorded everything? And why didn't Teal'c disappear as well?"

Daniel looked at Hammond lightly confused, but answered after a short break "So first perhaps were the inhabitants Jaffa or Tok'ra or something like this. And second the one who recorded everything could be the architect of this trap and could have left the planet through the stargate or on a spaceship. And about Teal'c…he doesn't carry a symbiote anymore."

Hammond seemed to consider the whole thing.

"Okay I will send SG-1 to the planet. You will find out if there's any truth in your 'goa'uld-trap-theory'. I will call the rest of the team for a briefing, so wait for us in the briefing room."

"Thank you sir!"

"SG-1 to the briefing room, I repeat, SG-1 immediately to the briefing room." sounded a voice through the speaker of the SGC.

Ten minutes later the whole team was gathered. After the General and Daniel explained the aim of the next mission back on PQ73X SG-1 left the office in the direction of the infirmary, because their annual check up was due.

"It seems your whole team is in good health. I will tell the General that you can start your mission in one hour."

"Hey doc, why waiting one hour? We could start immediately."

"Colonel do you question my skills as a physician?"

"I would never dare something like this. So guys what do you think about a visit to the commissary?"

The four of them were ready to leave the infirmary when Janet caught Sams arm.

"You'll stay Sam. I have to talk to you briefly."

On this four astonished looks clung to her, but she wasn't impressed and continued: "You three can go. I just want to talk to Sam about something."

The three guys left the infirmary and Jack threw a concerned look to Sam, which she acknowledged with a small smile.

Sam looked at her friend questioning when she answered: "I wanted to talk to you about your examination results…" she didn't come any further because Sam interrupted her.

"Why my examination results? You said we're all at good health."

"That's right, so please let me finish."

After that Carter gave her waiting and at the same time impatient look whereupon Janet continued.

"Did you use contraceptives lately?"
