Barely conscious, Percy wearily gazed around the battlefield. Thousands dead, and even more to come. Demigods, monsters and giants alike all fell, just known as the casualties of war. His faithful dog, Mrs.O'Leary had been skewered by Polybyotes as soon as Gaia revived him.
In the Underworld, the situation wasn't any better. The Doors Of Death had been smashed to bits, no chance of it ever being closed again. Monsters swarmed out in mass as they began to overwhelm the City Of The Dead. Thousands were killed, but they just came back again instantly. Eventually they were overwhelmed. Persephone herself died when her daughter, Melinoe, backstabbed her, quite literally. When they reached the throne room, Hades was ready. He struck down thousands of them but when the Chimera, Echidna, Medusa and the Sphinx started coming out, he knew he would be overwhelmed. So in a surprisingly selfless act by the Lord Of The Dead, he used his remaining power to temporarily chain them to the Underworld. The amount of power he used was too little to allow him to reform, so he faded, sentenced to the void eternally.
As we return to the surface, Percy was dueling Polybyotes, assisted by his dad. (AN: This is my first time writing a fight scene so please give comments on how I can get better. Thx) As Percy was sombrely watching his friends die, he was too distracted to dodge a hit from Polybyotes which would have skewered his brain. Luckily his Dad assisted him, just barely blocking Polybyotes strike with the tip of his trident. "FOCUS PERCY!" yelled his Dad. "THIS IS LIFE OR DEA-". His rant was cut short as he had to pull his attention back to Polybyotes, dodging a well aimed strike to his crotch. Whilst Polybyotes was focusing on my dad, I managed to strike his leg, severing his Achilles' tendon. He let out an ungodly shriek as he fell to the ground. He glared at me all with all his might until my Father stabbed his trident into his head. Killing Polybotes for the third time. Percy allowed himself a small life as he remembered how many times he had killed this particular giant. As his father began to congratulate him, he was cut short (again) by an earth spear slicing through the air and piercing his arm. Before he could react, more spears started pouring into him until he turned into gold dust. I whipped my head around to see who killed my father and lo and behold,it was Gaia
Primordial Of The Earth.
The primordial started laughing " Well done, Perseus Jackson," she cruelly said. "All of my children are dead, thanks to you." "Even the Titans that just escaped and Typhon!" "You have outdone yourself."
Percy POV:
"Before the despicable primordial could say another comment, I said with my signature snarky attitude quickly "Wow Mud Face, I didn't know you liked getting beaten." " So, came back from your slumber to get your butt kicked again eh?" Well I'd love to oblige, but can we speed this up a bit, I've got a picnic to get to." As soon as I finished that sentence, she started to shriek with laughter.
"Oh poor, poor Percy," "Haven't you looked around?" She condescendingly asked. As I slowly turned around, afraid of what I would see, I suddenly found my heart pierced by a spear. " Oh, did you expect me to fight you fairly and wait for you to gain your energy and have a chance to beat me?" "Well you were wrong there," "But you should really look around." Using the remainder of his quickly fading energy, he gazed around the battlefield. His eyes widened at what they saw.
His friends. Dead.
Their bodies lay around in a messy pile each having some sort of earth touching them. Only one was alive.
Annabeth.
As he slowly crawled to her, he heard her say, " Don't bother Seaweed-Brain, I'll die." "But if you survive, please Percy, for me, move on." she begged, even as the light faded from her stormy-grey eyes. With everything I had left, I forced out my last words. "R-rot in Tar-Tartarus Gaia..."
As darkness slowly began to overtake me, she replied, "Maybe I will, but not today." As I breathed my last, anger filled my soul
