I do not own Lizzie McGuire

Chapter 2 – Emotions run high

Miranda had not noticed Gordo's presence until his last comment. Seeing him standing there was not what she wanted see right now.

"What are you doing here?" She inquired when she him standing in front of her.

"Where else would I be at a time like this? He shot back his emotions still speaking for him.

"I don't know, I just don't want to have to deal with you right now," She said, not caring if she was being nice or not.

"What did I do?" He asked, confused, as he didn't want to be having an issue with someone else right now.

"This is all your fault!" She spewed before she could stop herself. She was taking things meant for Gordo's father out on Gordo. Gordo knew this and it set him off.

"My fault? How can this be my fault Miranda? What do you think I did huh? Do you think I just went up to my dad and told him that he should start seeing your mom?" He pleaded, hurt that she would even imply that he had been somehow involved with this mess.

"Like father like son!!" Miranda yelled, although she didn't mean any of this. At this point she was just venting at the person who was closest to being involved in this horror.

"Miranda that doesn't even make sense," Lizzie suddenly spoke trying to keep her two friends from being at each other's throats. Upon hearing all the yelling Sam and Matt had come in from outside. While Miranda and Gordo argued Jo filled Sam in on what was going on.

"Lizzie, I can handle this. That doesn't even make sense Miranda! By that logic, its your fault for your mom wanting my dad," Gordo preached wanting to fight his own battle.

"Gordo that doesn't make any sense either!" Lizzie replied still trying to keep her friends from saying other hurtful things that they didn't mean.

"Lizzie stay out of this!" Miranda barked. She too wanted to fight her own battles. Lizzie was about to get mad herself when Jo heard enough and stepped in.

"Hey kids! Stop it! Now!" Jo began in an ultra serious tone. Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo all stopped and turned to face Jo.

"Gordo, you and I are going to your house so you can get your books and things and I can talk to your mom. Miranda, you and Sam are going to her house so you can get your things and Sam can talk to your dad. Lizzie, you need to fill Matt in on what's going on." Jo stated taking charge.

Miranda, Gordo, Sam and Jo made their way towards the door. Before leaving Jo told her children, "We fill figure something out about food whenever I get back," with that Jo shut the door and Lizzie and Matt were alone. It was the first time the house had been quiet in several minutes.

"Lizzie what's going on?" Matt asked wanting to break the eerie silence. Lizzie told him all the information she knew about the day's events.

"Well that explains why they were both upset. I feel sorry for both of them. I mean, that has to suck so badly. I can't even imagine what it would be like it that was you and I. I mean Gordo and Miranda are like family. They really need us right now don't they?" Matt declared as he soaked in what was happening.

"Yeah Matt they do. We should probably start getting things ready since it looks like we are going to have house guests tonight." She said still trying to recover from all the emotion that she been surrounded by minutes earlier.

"Hey Lizzie, do you think I should tell Gordo and Miranda that they can talk to me or whatever if they need to?" Matt suggested upon getting the idea in his head.

"Yeah Matt, I think they would both really appreciate that." She answered honestly. With that they started looking for pillows and blankets.
