Alright, this is another of those infamous Albert/Yuber pairing fics. I admit it. It was written on a whim one day while writing drabbles, and this drabble went well over 100 words. So I stopped caring and just wrote a little ficcage instead. Nothing bad, seriously.

Disclaimer: Konami owns these freaks, and Shimizu Aki – san draws them awesomely in his/her manga, so if you don't like my written garbage, don't ignore the awesomeness of the source material… If you like it, please leave a review! I like reviews.

Albert wanted to sink deep into the floor and disappear.

Staring into Yuber's dual-colored eyes would do that. Silver and red, inhuman.

That Cheshire grin didn't help.

"What do you want?" is how Albert always began when Yuber appeared out of nowhere. It was a logical question, albeit a bit rude. But Albert never felt the need to humanize a demon.

"I want blood, human," Yuber narrowed his eyes, but continued to stare. "After all, that's what I came for. Chaos. Destruction. Blood."

A pit opened in Albert's stomach. No matter how much he wanted to pretend he was in control, certain that his plans would go right, in the presence of Yuber he always felt insecure.

"Then what are you standing around here for?" Albert waved a hand, looking annoyed, trying to mask his nervousness. "Go out there, in some back alley, and… and do what you want to."

He turned around, returning to his desk. He had work to do.

He hoped that it would end the conversation, and Yuber would disappear to wherever and leave him alone. But he could feel the demon's presence looming behind him.

A long arm reached over his shoulder, a hand pressing down on the book Albert was trying to open. A body leaned against his back, and hot breath in his ear.

"You don't understand me, human," Yuber said menacingly, lowering his voice to a whisper. "Petty kills mean nothing to me. I want war. I want destruction, real chaos, you understand? And…"

The other arm snaked around Albert's shoulders, gloved fingers stretching wide, covering the redhead's neck with enough pressure to send his heart reeling.

He felt lips grin against his ear.

"Fear. You're good at being afraid," Yuber lifted Albert's chin with that outstretched hand, keeping his thumb and finger directly on the pulsing arteries. "Your mortal heart reeks of it. It's beautiful."

Arms wrapped around Albert's shoulders from behind, a cheek resting against the crook of his neck. If it had been anyone else, the strategist would have thought it was pleasant, calming…

Yuber just liked to hear the blood rushing to his head.

"…Then go scare some other unsuspecting mortal instead," Albert regained his semblance of control. "I've got work to do."

Yuber chuckled. "…You always do…"

The demon left a kiss on Albert's cheek, like a mark of territory.

Or prey.

"I'll be back later, then. Don't wait up for me."

Was that a joke?

Albert felt the demon's presence disappear, and he slumped forward onto his books. His heart was still beating fast.

Regaining his defenses, he sat up straight and leaned over his books again, thinking of the next plan of action for Luc's plans, whether or not a cup of tea would be nice, and when Yuber would be coming back.

He would be awake all night long, making sure he was not caught off guard.
