NCIS...
Tony carefully walked through the old barn, ready to fire at their suspect. The suspect, Gerard Hines, was suspected in the murder of three petty officers. Jason MacCormick, Kevin Yardley and Francis Bellune were found in the exact barn Tony was in. Tony turned the corner and a loud shot rang out and Tony ducked behind the hay bale. Hines missed Tony by inches. "Hines! Drop your weapon!" Tony stood up again and Hines shot towards him again.
"I can't go back to jail!" Hines shouted. Tony bit his lip and sighed quietly. He heard rustling that was coming closer to him. He turned to the left to look out for Hines but he had disappeared. A soft click made Tony close his eyes in defeat. The cold metal of a gun barrel was pressed against his back. Hines had him. "I'm going to count to three. You had better drop your gun," he warned. Tony carefully dropped his nine mil to the dusty barn floor. Hines kicked it away as Tony raised his hands up behind his head. "Now, we are going to walk out of here, and your boss is going to let me run. Got it?" Tony scoffed.
"Yeah, ok. My boss will shoot you faster than you can-" Hines shot Tony's thigh. Tony screamed in pain. "What the hell!" he shouted. Hines pressed the gun to Tony's back again and pushed Tony out of the barn. Tony winced and gasped in pain as his thigh bled down his leg. "Hines, I am telling you, you will not make it out of here alive," Tony warned. Hines pushed him outside of the barn in front of multiple NCIS vehicles. Tony fell to the ground on his stomach and winced at his leg pain once more. Hines pointed his shotgun at Tony's back.
"If anyone tries to shoot me, he dies!" Hines yelled out. Tony looked up to see Gibbs staring at him. Gibbs eyes were sad as he studied the pain in Tony's face.
"Hines, drop your weapon!" Gibbs shouted. Hines shook his head no. He pressed the gun to Tony's back hard. Tony gasped. "If you shoot him, I'll shoot you! Drop your weapon now, Hines!"
"I am not going back to jail! Those men deserved what they got! They should've never pranked me, poked fun, or do anything that they did to me!" Hines shouted. Tony closed his eyes and held his head as it spun. He lost quite a bit of blood from his thigh. Tony tried to get back up but failed miserably. His dizziness and blood loss almost made him pass out. "I can't do this damn it!" Hines cried out. He pressed the shotgun to his chin and closed his eyes.
"NO!" Gibbs shouted as Hines pulled the trigger. His blood and body spread all over the place and onto the ground. Gibbs sighed in defeat. He ran over to Tony and shook him a little. "Tony, c'mon, Tony wake up." Gibbs called the paramedics in on his radio and heard them pulling up the long dirt driveway to the barn. Tony groaned softly and opened his eyes a little. "Tony c'mon, the paramedics are going to take you to the hospital," Gibbs mumbled.
"Okay," Tony whispered. Gibbs saw the paramedics coming and carefully moved out of the way.
"He's lost a lot of blood. He was shot in the leg from our suspect," Gibbs explained. The paramedic nodded.
"We are going to get him to the hospital as fast as we can. Are you riding with us to Bethesda?" Gibbs shook his head no slowly.
"Gotta wait for my team to get here. Otherwise I would," Gibbs sighed. He watched as the paramedics took Tony away as the siren screamed down the driveway. Soon after Ducky, Palmer, McGee and Kate showed up to process the scene.
"Sorry, Jethro. We would've been up here sooner had the driveway been slightly wider. Unfortunately, it is only one vehicle width," Ducky explained. Gibbs nodded. "So what happened here, Jethro?" Gibbs sighed and ran a hand through his silver hair. He pointed to Hines and his shotgun lying on the ground. Kate and McGee were taking pictures and gathering evidence.
"Well, he said he couldn't take it anymore." Ducky hummed in acknowledgement. "I don't get these cases, Duck. I really don't," Gibbs said.
"Well, Jethro. Sometimes in their minds, this is the only way out of life and unfortunately, nothing can change their minds. Some people however are able to pull themselves out of this mindset but others are not so lucky," Ducky mentioned. Gibbs breathed out a long sigh and rubbed his face as he studied the gorey scene before him. Palmer and Ducky began to put the body onto the stretcher and get it loaded into the truck. McGee and Kate came up to Gibbs as they finished cleaning up their evidence and loading it into the truck.
"Is Tony going to be okay boss?" McGee asked. Gibbs shrugged slightly.
"I'm going to head up there now to see him. I want you two to get this stuff labeled and sorted and finish up our case paperwork. We are off call this weekend so finish up what you can today by six o'clock." McGee and Kate nodded and went to their vehicle as Gibbs hopped into his. He started his Charger with a sigh. "Damn it, Tony," he muttered. He peeled out of the driveway and headed for the hospital to Tony. Tony you are going to be the death of me. Between accidents like this and just you in general, Gibbs thought. Your bright, green eyes and smile that just lights up the room. Gibbs sighed contently as he began to relax. His heart thumped harder in his chest thinking of the younger man. His feelings for Tony have only gotten deeper since his bout of the plague. He almost lost him then and doesn't want to feel that again. If only he could feel the same way, he thought. He knew Tony could never feel the same way...
NCIS...
Tony slowly started to wake up in a room with no one around him. It smelled like cleaner and the room was white. He carefully sat up and winced at the pain in his leg. He looked around and realized he was in the hospital. He leg had a bloody bandage around it, but it looked old. He pressed the call button on his bed and waited for a nurse. A beautiful women with brown eyes and blonde hair came in with a smile. Tony smiled at her. "Well, hello beautiful," Tony complimented. The nurse shook her head with a smile.
"What can I help you with Mr. Dinozzo? How are feeling?" She asked. She looked at his vitals and took his temperature. Tony smiled.
"I feel better now," he said with a wink. She rolled her eyes. "Honestly, my leg is kinda hurting. How did my surgery go?" He asked. A man with a white coat came in with a clipboard in hand.
"Mr. Dinozzo, good to see you're awake. I'm Dr. Harty and I did your surgery. So everything went pretty well. The slug missed your femoral artery and bone, so that's a plus. We sewed and repaired everything and you should be good to go home in a day or so," he explained. Tony nodded and shifted again in his bed. He winced at the pain in his leg. "Nurse, could you give Mr. Dinozzo a dose of pain meds please," he asked. She nodded and upped his morphine drip slightly. "Do you have any questions for me?"
"Yes, actually. I was wondering when my friends could visit me," Tony asked. He longed to see Abby, McGee and Kate, but he really wanted to see Gibbs. The look in Gibbs' eyes when he was slowly passing out made him rethink about how he feels for Gibbs. Tony knew there was some attraction there and it wasn't a secret that he liked men and women. He just wished Gibbs could feel the same way.
"Well, you already have a crew waiting for you out in the waiting room. Would you like to see everyone?"
"Oh yes," Tony said with a smile. The doctor smiled and left the room to get his guests. The nurse checked everything once more and smiled as she was leaving.
"Bye, Mr. Dinozzo," she flirted. Tony shot her that million watt smile that got all the ladies going crazy. McGee, Abby, and Kate filed into the room with smile.
"Tony! I'm so glad you're okay! Are you in any pain? Do you need some tea? Can I get you anything?" Abby bounced on her heels as she talked. Tony chuckled and pulled her in for a tight hug. She squeezed him.
"Really, I'm okay," Tony reassured.
"I'm glad to see you're okay, Tony," McGee said.
"Me too and we have the weekend off," Kate said with a smile. Tony sighed happily and leaned back onto his pillow. Tony looked around the room and furrowed his brow.
"Where's Gibbs?" Tony asked.
"He'll be right up. He was grabbing some coffee. He's been here since you were in surgery," Kate explained. Tony nodded. "Well, I hate to be the first to leave, but I have a date tonight." Abby 'ooooo'ed' her with a smirk. She rolled her eyes and waved goodbye to Tony.
"Why don't you get some rest, Tony. We will see you on Monday," McGee said. Tony nodded and he took Abby's hand. Abby pulled away and blew Tony a kiss as they left. Tony sighed and closed his eyes as he tried to relax. His leg was feeling numb from the pain medicine and he felt really tired. It had been a long day. Moments later there was a soft knock on his door. He opened his eyes and smiled. Gibbs stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame.
"You okay for another visitor?" Gibbs asked. Tony nodded and sat up a little in his bed. Gibbs sat on the bed with Tony and patted his uninjured leg. "How ya feeling?"
"Numb. The medicine is doing it's job," Tony said with a smirk. Gibbs smiled and Tony sighed softly. God I love that smile. The way his eyes light up... Gibbs cleared his throat and brought Tony back from his train of thought.
"I uh, wanted to make sure you were okay," Gibbs said. He didn't really know what else to say. Tony nodded and suddenly found interest in his lap. Gibbs studied the younger man as he twirled his thumbs in circles.
"Gibbs, I-"
"Tony, I-" both men spoke at the same time. Tony chuckled and Gibbs smiled. "Go ahead," Gibbs nudged. Tony bit his lip. God I would love to feel those lips, Gibbs thought. Tony cleared his throat.
"Gibbs. I was wondering about something." Gibbs nodded. Tony paused for a moment to gather his thoughts. Gibbs squeezed his good leg gently. Tony bit his lip again to supress a moan. "Nevermind it's stupid," Tony back tracked. He couldn't do this. There is no way Gibbs could like him back.
"Are you sure?" Gibbs asked. Tony nodded. Gibbs sighed and stood from the bed. "I'll see you tomorrow, Tone," Gibbs mumbled. Tony nodded and watched as Gibbs left the room. Tony groaned and hid his face with a pillow.
"Why must he call me Tone? God!" Tony exclaimed softly. He felt a deep stir in his gut and sighed. He shook it off and flipped over, trying to get some sleep for the night.
