A/N: These are just some Lipsky Family things from random tumblr tales I've posted.
Summary: Set in the future. Shego reflects on the life she almost had and the domestic life she now has...
Christmas Peace
The snow came down heavy outside, thick enough to make the roads scarce but not enough to be considered a blizzard. By all accounts it was Christmas morning, but the still dim sky hadn't let enough sunlight through to justify getting out of bed. Shego's hand ran through Drakken's hair as he slept next to her, her book lay forgotten on her lap. Shego watched the snow fall in the dark silence, remembering the cave lairs they'd once inhabited in their villain past. The large grand window of their home was a different story. The no longer hid and schemed for world domination. No. They had gotten their world domination instead by being saviors rather than conquerors.
She didn't muse much on it over the years, at least anymore. But every so often, in peaceful moments like this… they came back. This had not been the future she'd imagined for herself. She doubted it was Drakken's either. She'd imagined people running in fear at her presence, not her social neighbor Summer chatting over a hedge about things she wished she didn't care about… but she did. The image of her once clawed gloves a glow as she laughed in the chaos she had caused… not unlike the scene that had played out Christmas shopping last weekend… if she didn't spend so much at that shop, they would have banned her. So that was somewhat her vision.
She definitely didn't imagine living in a good neighborhood in the suburbs… her one time evil genius employer turned megalomaniac partner in crime… now wearing a golden band on his finger that mirrored her wedding band.
No she would expect to travel the world and be in warm climates that had sandy beaches for the holidays. It wasn't like that hadn't been there plan this holiday, but with all her traveling with Global Justice as of late, she'd been the one who wanted to stay home. She knew in a few hours if not less the sounds of little footsteps running to their room would signal the start of the morning. Her head fell against the headboard as she watched the snow before looking at Drakken. Yes, this had not been where she'd seen her life ending up.
"What are you thinking?" she heard Drakken mumble into the pillow as his eyes half opened.
"About how this isn't the life I thought I would have," she responded as he sat up and looked around the room and then to her.
"Me neither," he learned on his arm and looked at her, "Should I be worried?"
"Always," she smirked and nudged him. She looked at his raised brow and questioning eyes, "Do you regret who we became?"
"… when someone cuts me off in traffic and I can't blast them with a laser cannon," he nodded, "I mean I could but it's not worth it… I'd take the hovercar, but my wife tends to take that now that it's been fixed up."
"I don't like car pool," said Shego with a smile.
"You still car pool with it," he frowned.
"Yes… but at least this way there is a threat of me kicking someone to the ground… less drama if the other's live in fear," grinned Shego.
"Oo tell me more of your evil threatening ways," the evil grin spread on his face.
"You didn't answer my question," she responded as she slid to lay down next to him and stare at him.
"Regrets?" his evil smile melted away to a content smirk, "World recognition, all the technology I could wish for, a beautiful insane wife, three little monsters who spread terror and danger in their wake…. is it different than what I imagined… yes. Would I change it? Not a second of it."
"I love how you put beautiful before insane," she shoved him a little, "Don't think I didn't notice your little eye-roll when you said it either."
"What about you? Do you regret it?" he asked as his hand played with a strand of her hair on the pillow.
Shego watched him draw a heart with her hair as he waited for her answer. She looked over him and at the window as church bells rang in the distance. The sound of the wind making them foggy in sound. The sound of movement downstairs that signified the family pet had gotten up to get into mischief before they could wake and stop him. She didn't have world fear, nor was she a emporess of evil delegating troops of violence…. no she worked for Global Justice, lived in the suburbs, had a husband, children, and a… okay so she didn't have a dog. They had a Velociraptor … apart from that it was disgustingly sweet and domestic. She looked at Drakken as he fiddled with her hair with a soft smile at the pillow. She smiled.
"No," she said softly as she slid her arms over his shoulder and pulled him to her to kiss him.
His hand slid up her thigh and under her nightgown as her leg slid over him so she could slide over his waist. She smiled into the kiss as it became deeper and she straddled his waist. The image of sitting alone in a beach chair in a sunny paradise suddenly paled in comparison to the arms that held her close and tightly against them. The image of an army that feared her was vanquished by the sound of laughing and running down the hall. She snorted.
"Okay, I have one regret," she smiled. Drakken's eyes shot open in horror.
"The kids," he looked suddenly terrified. She glared.
"No. The fact our kids have your shitty sleep habits…" she slid off him and rolled her eyes.
"Wake up its Christmas!" the wild haired head of their ten year old popped through the doorway. Her glasses barely her nose.
"Move. Mommy. Daddy, can we open gifts yet?" came the sleepy voice of her sister. Heavy green eyes glared passed her.
"We're coming," said Drakken as he slid out of bed.
"Spike ate the tree," a smaller head peeked under his sister's arm.
"He what– Spike!" yelled Drakken as he stepped around the kids, messing their hair as he did so.
"Alright, kids, let's go get breakfast first. We have to wait for the Possible's to get here before we open gifts," sighed Shego. Another sentence she'd never imagined saying in her future.
"Merry Christmas, Lipsky's!" came the yell of Ron from downstairs.
"Ron, don't just open the door," hissed Kim, "Ava. Aaron, where are you… what happened to the tree?"
"Alright, go join your horde," sighed Shego with a smirk as she could hear the Possible kids on the stairs already.
"Spike! Not the fireplace… no!" Drakken yelled and Shego snorted as she headed towards the sound.
"Ah!" she heard Kim yell, "My shoes."
"Yup… wouldn't change it for the world," smiled Shego as she let out a content sigh as she walked into the chaos.
