WAITING (1)
Inside Mt. Mihara
It had been twenty long years since he had been trapped in this prison of magma and molten rock. The fire did not burn, it was not uncomfortable to him in any way, but still, no one likes being put somewhere they don't want to be, especially inside a volcano.
Although he did not like being cut off from the rest of the world he'd grown to tolerate the warmth and isolation of his fiery prison. It was easier to rest within. He'd rested for many years, millions, tens of millions, perhaps even hundreds of millions. He was not sure. Time was lost to him, and the world he'd reawakened to was different. There were none of his kind who he could see. No enemies to fight. Perhaps they were all dead. He did not know.
Inside, the unique heat the volcano emitted satiated his new apatite. It was strange. He did not eat it, but it filled him just to breath it in, and it made him stronger. He too had changed. He was curious of these changes not just with the world, but also the changes within himself. Although he was not the most patient of beings, he'd been a sleep for millions of years, what was a couple hundred more. He would learn of these changes in time. In truth it did not matter whether he discovered them or not, so long as he knew what he needed to in order to survive, and he did.
Within the hollow interior of this hellish pit he rested, and rested well he did. Even in the Long Rest, he had not rested so peacefully as he did now. Memories were but a blur to him, but since his reawakening he remembered a few things, memories, dreams, thoughts he had not comprehended in many years. Thoughts about the world and how it had changed; about how he had changed, and whether there were others like him out there, and what those strange small creatures were he'd encountered. It made him all the more curious, which made him all the more eager to leave. But that time would come soon enough, he was sure of it.
There had been indications of that. Indications of others who were like him, but not. If there were others like him, his time would be short. But there was no reason to get overexcited about it. That would make the wait longer. No, he would continue to rest, dream, think about the world outside the boundaries of his prison. And of what other creatures there were out there as well.
(Godzilla and all monsters associated with him are owned by Toho, and I do not own any thing. Same as Gamera and the other monsters and characters in his series. They ,mostly, all belong to Kadokawa Corp.)
Also this is the timeline of the story, and if you haven't seen these movies before hand you won't understand anything that's going on in this series, so I recommend you check them out before you do. Here they are.
