Daddy used to read me stories about princeses and princesses. He told me one day when I was grown up, my prince would arrive. He never mentioned certain princes . . . like my prince.
Daddy never mentioned that I would have bruises. At first they were hickies and then they were painful bruises inflicted when I did something wrong. Inflicted sometimes simply because I was a 'mudblood'.
