HOLIDAY CHEER LOVEBUGS ;)

Mercedes Jones wore a lot of caps, she was the partner at her firm Jones & Abrams, she was the best friend to Quinn and Santana Lopez, and she was also the godmother to their daughter Cicily. Mercedes did a lot of things for a lot of people and seldom did anyone see her do something for herself. Quinn, Santana, and their other friend Tina try as they might, but they can't get her to operate on levels of fun. Instead, all she did was work, talk to them, and watch her goddaughter when she needed or wanted to. She hadn't gone out on a date since college, and she hadn't experienced a relationship since she finished grad school five years ago. However, they all knew why, her ex, Matt Rutherford, had done a number on her, but she wouldn't tell them what exactly happened. All they wanted was for their friend's best friend to find love and to be happy because they refused to let her be single and alone for the rest of her life.

Sam Evans was the owner and head bartender of his small bar, Clueless. He didn't name but instead, his grandfather did, and he inherited the business after his father retired and it was a prized possession. He loved working there, serving the patrons, and learning new stories, also the one-night stands he had on frequent nights didn't hurt either. He was a solid player, and he hadn't met a woman who could make him change his ways, and quite frankly he didn't want to meet one. However, his mother constantly pestered him about finding love, and when it came to the holidays it only grew worse. His mother would always ask him if there was absolutely anyone he could spend his life with but he assured her that one day on his own terms he would do it. However, it just hadn't happened yet.

"Objection, relevance your honor. Attorney Berry does not have the right to constantly pester around dates that happened five years before the said murder occurred if it isn't going to draw us to the main conclusion of her point." Mercedes spoke up. She was in court, and she loved court, she was currently defending her client Shane Tinsely who was currently on trial for killing some man, but he was innocent he was nowhere near the crime, and he had multiple people to vouch for him. However, Rachel Berry just wanted to go to trial, just to prove she could be just as good as Mercedes, but she couldn't even hold a candle to her.

"Your honor, I was just trying to prove that Mr. Tinsely has had a violent past," Rachel sighed.

"I wouldn't call being the defensive party in a fight after Tinsely tried to walk away violent, Berry. If you want to send my client to jail, you are going to have to try a hell of a lot harder than what you are doing," Mercedes smirked.

"Ok you two, listen. Berry you will have the next five hours to give me some sort of legitimate evidence to prove Tinsely's guilt or I will throw this case out based on the facts presented by Jones." The honorable Judge Sylvester interrupted.

"But Judge-," Rachel started.

"Court adjourned," Sue finalized as she banged the gavel and everyone started to gather their things.

"Is she going to try to put me in jail?" Shane asked.

Mercedes chuckled, "No she has limited to no evidence, her presentation is shaky, and besides even if she finds a sliver of evidence I actually have the footage of that night being transferred to the judge. Consider yourself a free man, Mr. Tinsely." Mercedes shook her hands and grabbed her bags before leaving the courtroom and heading out.

Rachel came out of nowhere, "You could have at least thrown me a damn bone in there Jones,"

"And Berry, I would rather lose my license in law than do something pathetic as that. Look just face it, you are dying to beat me in a case because your life is falling apart, and the only thing that would bring you some sort of joy is if I let you beat me. Trust me Berry you should give it up." Mercedes spoke as she left the girl. After court, Mercedes headed to lunch with Tina, Quinn, and Santana. She walked them and found them at their regular table in the back.

"Hi ladies," She greeted as she walked over to them.

"Oh shit, well look at you looking like a tall glass of milk," Santana greeted back as she acknowledged Mercedes's all-white ensemble, she wore a knee-length white dress, with a white peacoat over it and when she took it off the dress was revealed to be an off the shoulder strapped dress.

"I'm assuming you had court against one Rachel Berry today," Tina added.

"And you beat her," Quinn stated.

"Well I didn't beat her exactly yet but she doesn't have reasonable evidence, and she won't be able to get any. Anyways, how are yall?"

"Your goddaughter is going to drive me to drink. I swear Merce she likes you more than she likes her own mothers." Santana pointed out.

"Awe, we just have a special bond, she loves both of you."

"My lovely wife is just being dramatic, she is upset because Cicily didn't automatically cry when she told her that we were going on our annual holiday couples trip," Quinn explained.

Santana dramatically said, "She cried every year for six years."

"She's growing up San." Mercedes chuckled.

"Don't remind me. Anyways you know you are coming out tonight with us tonight, we are in desperate need of hanging out sessions, and I found this perfect lowkey spot called Clueless. You are coming with us." Santana stated.

"I don't know guys, I have a bunch of notes and cases I need to do before the holiday season is up."

"Mercedes Jones, you are coming out with your girl best friends and you are going to enjoy yourself end of the discussion." Tina scolded.

"Fine, only because you all are so convincing, look I have to get back to the office but I'll be there."

"Sam come back to bed baby," The brunette groaned from the bed. Sam had finally gotten up and was going around his bedroom gathering all of his bed warmer's items. He wasn't a man that needed to be a in a relationship but he was a man who did enjoy having a woman in his bed, but this one was proving to be a mistake. He couldn't even remember her name all he knew was that she didn't anything for him at all. He could have left her at the bar where he could have kept her, but alas he did less thinking with his brain when sex was involved.

"Look, last night was ok, actually it was less than ok, but hey let's chalk it down as a night full of alcohol. Now I have got some things to do so I need you out of my bed, and out of my house. Please and thank you." Sam began.

Sugar replied, "You ass."

"I said please and thank you." Sam tried. Sugar let out a disgusted sound before grabbing her things and as she walked out of the apartment she slammed the door behind her.

"Well what a wonderful start to the day," Sam said aloud. He went about his business and hopped in the shower, before heading out. He needed to do a quick inventory and make sure his bar looked to be as festive as possible. The holiday season was upon New York City and his bar was one where numerous people would go for the warmth and the liquor and it needed to look the part. He pulled out his phone and called his good friend Artie Abrams.

"Artie have I told you how much I loved you lately." Sam began.

Artie sighed, "Sam I can't keep on filing restraining orders on girls who are after you, I told you to get a damn taser, and if that didn't work then keep little Sam in your pants."

"It isn't about that I was wondering if you had any holiday decorations from the firm that you give me for the bar, I have to do a restock and clean before opening up and I don't have the time for decoration buying."

"Yeah, we have a closet full of all that, I'll bring over two boxes full."

"What would I do without you?"

"Probably die."

Once Mercedes had made it back home she decided to take a quick shower before getting ready. Upon stepping out and heading to her closet she received a call from her firm partner Artie.

"Artie I am off the clock this better not be about work?" Mercedes answered.

"Well no, my beautiful brown goddess, this is about something completely different, have you heard about this place called Clueless?"

"Actually San, Q, and Tee, are bringing me out tonight to that place. Should I be concerned?"

"No I actually know, the guy that owns the place and he called me so I could deliver some decorations to his place, but I am swamped at the office."

"So you called me to see if I could deliver them for you, and if I know you like I know I do you already sent your assistant here, and said assistant is putting the boxes of Christmas decorations in my car as we speak," Mercedes finished for him.

"You know me so well, I owe you when this is all over with." Artie smiled.

"Mhm you do, look let me finish getting dressed, and then I'll send the decorations right over."

"You are a lifesaver, Mercedes Jones."

"Thank you, Artie." Once the two hung up Mercedes pulled out a red dress she had recently bought, it was a few inches above her knee with spaghetti straps and it clung to her perfectly. She paired it with a white cardigan that she had before placing it on her heels and heading out the door.

As suspected the two boxes of decorations were in the car, and she headed off to find Clueless, when she arrived it looked to be closed but she knocked on the door and a handsome white man came over to the door and opened it. He was downright sinful with a full muscular body that was bulging through his simple black tee. His hair was nice and cut, with a small beard that aligned with his chin.

"I'm sorry ma'am but we aren't open yet," Sam spoke.

"Oh, well lucky for you I have some decorations that need to be dropped off. My friend Artie said I needed to give them to you."

"Of course, I called him about a few hours ago, however, if I had known he was going to send a woman as pretty as you, I would have kicked his ass." Sam flirted as he leaned against the doorframe,

Mercedes chuckled, "Look, how about I pop the trunk and you get those decorations,"

"You won't stay with me, it would be just the two of us here alone, with no one to bother us."

"Listen, I am sure that line works with every other girl in the world but it won't with me, so how about you get the boxes out of the trunks, and maybe just maybe we'll cross paths again."

"Hopefully sooner than later."

"I guess you'll have to see,"
