Rabi liked books. He liked learning, liked gaining information, retaining it. Books were comforting, always there, always full of entertainment and history and intrigue.
Rabi also liked books when they were piled up. He sat cross-legged in a fort of literature, an open volume on his lap, books leaning against other books stacked on top of more books to form walls and bridges and towers. In this little sanctuary, he felt happy.
"What did I tell you about making castles in the library!"
And down came Rabi's sacred fortress as the tiny stomping villain crashed through the walls, shrieking, sending a boot flying into the red-haired boy's backside.
Oh, well. The path to becoming a bookman wasn't always going to be plain sailing.
