(an: inspired by Modest Mouse's "Float On" Man, I love that song. And no. this is in no way romantic. If you try to find something dirty in here I shall cry).

Luna Lovegood picked up Mrs. Norris off the floor. She stared at what was presumably Fred and George's newest invention.

Although, she wasn't exactly the closest friend of the Weasleys so she had no idea whether or not it was the newest.

Her father's latest gift, a bright, colorful watch, that he had sent her because it reminded him of how bright she seemed to him chimed.

It was ten o'clock.

Luna was supposed to be back at her rooms by now.

Heavy and limping footsteps slowly approached where she was standing cradling and petting Mrs. Norris.

"Bloody Hell"

Luna looked up to see Argus Filch's open mouth staring at her.

"I'm sorry I'm out late. The invistines told me a cat was in trouble on the fourth floor, so I had to go check up on it." FIlch's mouth did not close at that statement, but his eyes did get wider.

"Sweetie, there's no such thing as invistines."

"Sure there are! My father's magazine the Quibbler ran an article on them a few months back. It's really interesting. I could send you a copy about them. The trouble with many none inivistine believers is that they're never looking to hear them."

"Looking to hear?"

"Absolutely." Luna put down Mrs. Norris who curled up beside her. She began gesturing with her hands.

"You see, they're about this small." She moved her thumb and her pointer a wide fingernail's length apart. "And they're very soft feeling, like your cat." She petted Mrs. Norris. "However, they are very afraid of wizards and magic."

Filch softly grunted. While Luna kept talking he remembered the only other person to speak to him as if he wasn't a lesser person because he was a squib: Dumbledore.

He sat down cross legged and followed Luna's story closely. He never slouched. Luna found him the most attentive listener.

His ears perked up when he heard many invistine sightings had been by squibs. This was because the invistines weren't threatened by their magic as they didn't have any.

"And that is the invistine." She finished sounding truly proud.

Filch also felt proud to have heard the noble flight of the invistines from their captors, the mengicals. He had long since abandoned his feelings of disdain for what he previously thought of as nonsense.

Luna sat up and patted Mrs. Norris' head. As she started to walk away she said, "Goodnight Mr. Filch."

Picking up Mrs. Norris and heading in a different direction Filch set off to find an invistine.
