Hello all!
Just a short (maybe 5 chapters?) Little romance fic heavily inspired by the song "Green Eyes" by JOSEPH. Excited to dive back into my fantasy land of Raven, Beast Boy and their undying love for each other. If there are any errors or typos please let me know so I can adjust as again, I'm avoiding homework and it's late as all heck.
Songs I was listening to while writing this:
The Hype – Twenty One Pilots
Drive it like you Stole it – Sing Street
Ooh – Jon Bellion
DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of the songs, or Teen Titans.

Hidden in a little corner of Jump City, "Curious and Curiouser" Books and Collectibles was safely housing a grey skinned witch from the burning hot California sun. The soft, orange walls provided the necessary structure for her to hollow out a small corner of endless contentment as she raked her hands over the various covers lining the shelves. All the potential to find an engaging piece of fiction, a fascinating analysis of theory, a sharp new take on the human condition…most likely 3 or 5 would be leaving the store with her.
Her hand landed on an impressive tomb with a rich, hunter green cover. Gold embossed lettering let her know "The Terrible Knights of the Hype: Doing it for the Money" was the first book in a new fantasy series about a rag-tag group of rapscallions traveling around the new…
"RAVEN I STOLE THE T-CAR"
Whipped back into reality, Raven was dumbfounded to see Beast Boy standing in front of her, lit up like a cheap neon sign. All bright colors and hot energy, it was hard to imagine him more excited than when she let him drag her to the fair last week yet… here he was.
"I NEED MY PARTNER IN CRIME"
"What are you talking about now?"
Bending over slightly, he took two deep breaths, resting his hands on his thighs, before answering. Beast Boy finally clarified the situation for the now irked sorceress.
"He left the keys on the table, and I took them. It's a gorgeous day today, perfect for a drive. You need to come with me, NOW"
"Hey! I wanted to buy that book!"
Volume one of "The Terrible Knights" lay forgotten on the floor, a bemused store owner walking over to retrieve it as he watched his favourite customer get pulled unceremoniously out of the store into the gleaming sunshine.
Arms crossed; she sat in the passenger seat glaring at the snickering changeling. In the back seat she caught a glance of an excessive collection of snacks and soda, a huge blanket and the sharp tip of an umbrella.
"I don't want to go on a picnic"
"It's not a picnic!"
She scoffed. "Really? "Do you really need me for this? There's no one else you could drag out today?"
"Raven… you're my best friend."
And there it was, one sentence loaded like a potato skin. There was no way to measure the level of cocky mischievousness plastered all over this face. She could see it in his eyes, he had her.
(Some Time Ago)
The sun was setting, and two Titans sat with their backs against the rocks at the bottom of the daunting T shaped tower behind them. The sun's last bit of warmth left a soft kiss goodbye, the chilled wind now dancing into the scene, exuberantly whipping capes and tousling hair.
Despite the wind's excitement, and the sun's affection, Beast Boy sat utterly despondent in the sand, his head barely lifting enough to make his words audible.
"I'm sorry Raven, I really am."
She wasn't crying, but the sadness and resentment rolled off of her in crushing waves. Despite her ability to keep it all together, the pain he caused her was a screaming red flashing in his face like a siren.
"I don't know what to say to make this better."
"You left us Beast Boy, you left me. And I had to hear all of those things from her, all those things I was afraid were true. I know you liked her better than me… and I know you're heartbroken right now but you keep asking me if I'm alright and you know honestly I'm not."
"Raven I didn't like her…"
"No you did and there's no point lying about it. You picked her over me, because you were the best friend she ever had right?" Her words were acerbic, and as much as it stung to be brought back to that moment of sacrifice, all he could really focus on was how much he had actually hurt the girl in front of him now. How had he not realized? How did he let this happen to her?
"But you know what Beast Boy, you were…no are my best friend too." She buried her head in her arms, hoping that she hid the single tear running down her cheek. What could he possibly say to that, how could he ever make this better. All because he was chasing some dream he now wasn't sure he ever really wanted. Definitely not as much as he wanted to see her smile right now.
"You're right…I made a huge mistake."
The silence hung between them, rocking back and forth, heavy like a pendulum.
"And one I won't ever make again…"
Hearing him shift around, she looked up to find him pulling a lira out of his pocket.
"I, Beast Boy, solemnly swear on this, my most prized coin, to never choose anyone over you, Raven, my best friend. I promise I never will again." He smiled his dopey smile, making a real show of this vow with as much pageantry that his broken heart could muster.
Seeing him like that made her heart flutter, and she was hit with a sense of relief. It was like a crack she wasn't aware of suddenly being filled by his warmth, his strength and his adoration. She hated to admit to herself how much she desired it.
(Present)
It was one of their most precious moments, and one she held so dearly. It was a rock to run to when she was feeling scared or lonely, unloved or abandoned. And it also was often used as an arsenal by its creator.
He winked at her.
She sighed, rolled her eyes and rested her head against the window.
"So where are we going".
(Later on that night)
Beast Boy smiled to himself, humming a song while he plowed through the mountain of dishes he had been instructed to clean. He had been smiling like this the whole day. The entire time he was driving up and around the winding mountain roads, laughing and bantering with his favorite partner in crime. The entire time they were stretched out on the blanket, picking at random food while watching ducks float and dunk into the clear water of a stream. It didn't leave when he drove her downtown, so they could cruise on the main strip taking in all the bright lights and billboards. He smiled while they drank milkshakes as they watched one of her favorite art films that they discovered was playing at the drive in. He couldn't even "wipe it off his smug face" while Cyborg was laying into him about running off with his baby "and not even a note!"
A similar smile found its way to Raven's features two days later when she opened the door to head into the kitchen and was greeted by a familiar green cover. The gold lettering hidden by a single delicate card. It had one obnoxious sticker, and two simple handwritten words.
"Thank You".
