Prologue
It was a quiet Monday morning in New Orleans, and everybody was enjoying all the freedoms that they had missed when the Covid-19 pandemic had started. Due to the vaccine, people eventually developed herd immunity, which caused the virus to become far less deadly than it had previously been; though some still died from it.
Navy Commander Jake Booth was a short middle-aged man with jet black hair. Jake worked with Navy Intelligence and lived with his wife Iris and their two children: Joe, who was seven and Lindsey, who was eight. Jake was quickly heading home after forgetting his wallet.
Jake arrived home and was just walking up the driveway of his house when he suddenly noticed something amiss. The front door was wide open. Feeling a strong sense of unease, Jake raced into his house and began calling out for his wife and kids.
"Iris, are you here, babe?" cried Booth in alarm as he continued to race through the house and saw that it was ransacked, "Joe, Lindsey?"
Jake finally entered his and Iris's bedroom and saw that it too was ransacked.
Jake's phone then rang. He took it out and answered. "Hello?" he said in a nervous tone of voice.
"Hello, Commander Booth," answered a distorted voice on the other end of the line, "You are speaking to the leader of Freedom For All. We have your wife and children."
"Please, I'll do whatever you want, just let them go." pleaded Jake in a terrified manner.
"Then you're going to listen to me very carefully and do exactly as I say," replied the distorted voice, "Try anything stupid, and they die. We have hacked into your work computer and know that you have a hard drive containing sensitive Navy intel. We will give you further instructions later on.
The voice suddenly hung up. Jake just stood in the middle of his bedroom, feeling helpless.
(AN) And that was the prologue to Freedom For All. I hope you all enjoyed.
The title of this story is named after the sensitive Navy intel, which we'll learn the full details of in the next chapter.
Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
