Weiss Schnee, wife of King Cardin and Queen Consort of Vytal, has been stolen away by her sister, Princess Winter Schnee, back to their home, the Kingdom of Atlas.
After the defiant oathtaking of her sister Winter into the service of Dictator James the Ironwood, Weiss was left as the sole Atlesian princess available and thus became the 'White Beauty of Atlas'. Her looks and her rich country made her the most desired woman on Remnant, so much so that a tournament for her hand in marriage was organized. Kings, princes, knights, local heroes and many more flocked for the tournament. Many came to win the hand Weiss Schnee, but many also came to be a part of such a grand tournament. In the end, it was Cardin, King of Vytal, that triumphed over all and won Weiss as his wife.
Now, with the 'White Beauty of Atlas' seemingly escaping from him, Cardin felt only fury and war in his blood. Worse still, when he demanded Jacques to return his wife, the arrogant King of Atlas instead betrothed Weiss to the adopted whelp of King Leonardo of Mistral, Prince Oscar. This was a grave insult in its most humiliating form. People will whisper about Cardin, the man who could not keep the most beautiful and desired woman to be his wife. People will speak about Cardin, the king that you did not need to honor as even his own wife did not honor the most sacred of pacts. There was only one answer for Cardin, and it was war.
Cardin summoned all the suitors of Weiss, invoking the Oath of Suitors that all took to protect the union between him and Weiss against those who would seek to undermine it. However, Cardin was known by the moniker of 'the Brute', and many were hesitant to support such a man. Almost all those from Mistral and Mantle ignored the call to arms, instead flocking to Atlas and following the example of King Leonardo. However, those from Sanus, no matter how personally conflicted they were on the matter, felt they had no choice but to answer the call. More than an insult to Cardin, Weiss's flight was an insult to Sanusian honor and pride.
Sanusian monarchs, warriors, and living legends all mustered at Vytal: King Peter 'the Insatiable' of the Great Port, King Nicholas 'the Indomitable' and the Seven Sister-Queens of the Arcadian Coalition, Ser Jaune 'the Ideal' of the Golden Banners, Queen Glynda 'the Goodwitch' and General Bartholomew 'the Oobleck' of Vale, King Taiyang 'the Great Dragon' and his daughters, Princess Yang 'the Young Dragon' and Princess Ruby 'the Red Rose' of Patch, and many more. Even King Ghira 'the Dreadnought', Princess Blake 'the Belladonna' and General Adam 'the Bull' of Menagerie made common cause with the Sanusians because of their deep animosity with Atlas. And with them, tens of thousands of souls march closer to battle.
Across the sea, Jacques hosted his own coalition in Atlas: Dictator James 'the Ironwood' of Mantle, Princess Winter 'the Sword of Atlas', Queen Nora 'the Valkyrie' of Valhalla, Princess Penny 'the Iron Lady' of Aegis, Queen Pyrrha 'Goddess of Victory' of Hellas, King Lie 'the Grandmaster' of Kuroyori, King Leonardo 'the Lionheart' and Lord Ozpin 'the Wizard' of Mistral, and other minor lords of Mantle and Mistral.
War of unprecedented proportions is coming. Blood will become the rivers. Corpses will become the very ground of Remnant. Screams will form the wind and tears shall salt the earth.
Thousands will march. Thousands will die.
The drums beat on.
