Sorry I haven't been writing or working on any of my stories. I have been busy with moving and just trying to get settled in. As well I have just been tired. Moving is hell and my body is still getting used to a new time zone as well as going to bed at 2 or 3am.

I have been in my new home for a week now and I'm just getting into the groove of things and also have to learn that I can't be up all night writing and I will have to figure out better times.

Chapter 3

Three months have gone by. Naruto, Ino, Shikamaru all thrived under both Ibiki and Asuma's training. The first month Asuma was a little sad and annoyed that Shikamaru hadn't wanted to waste time during training to play shogi with him. That he wanted to train and become stronger. He knew that the sogi games were more for developing his mind and developing his strategy skills. But, at this moment his skills were above his own father and he couldn't allow that to slip so soon. He did still play along with the I.Q. test he had been given. Even Naruto and Ino joined in on it. They had also passed it with flying colors. Giving the two Jonin teachers something to think about and to look into at the academy.

Naruto flops onto his back with his arms spread wide open. "I am tired. I want to see some real actions." He whines out a little breathlessly.

Ino giggles at his antics as Shikamaru just rolls his eyes. They both agree with their best friend that it was time for them to enter the shinobi world. For it was time for their names to strike fear once more into the hearts of their enemies.

Ibiki looks up from a file he is holding as Asuma stands straight from his spot against a tree. "Well you three have done well these past few months. I do believe it is time for your first C-Rank mission." Asuma tells them as his gray eyes watch their every movement.

Naruto shots up. His blue eyes sparkling with hope and joy. "Can we go now to the Hokage's office for our C-Rank?" He questions with hope, lacing his voice.

Ibiki stands up from the stomp he had been sitting on. "Fine brats. Let's go." He said as he looked over at Asuma who just shrugs his shoulders. To him it didn't matter if they went now or later.

Hokage's Office

Team 10 along with their two sensei's stand before the old Hokage. Sarutobi smiles at the young Genin standing before him. "What may I do for you today Team 10?" He questions them.

Ino and Shikamaru look towards Naruto. Who in return nods his head. "Hokage we are ready for our first C-Rank mission." He answers for everyone as Ibiki and Asuma watch on with what their brats have planned.

"Oh, you are?" Questions Sarutobi as amusement plays in his old eyes.

"Yes, Sir. We have been training hard for the past three months and we feel it is time for us to put our still to the test. A test we wouldn't have been able to do if we had only been able to do D-Rank chore missions around the village. Don't get me wrong. I understand the D-Rank missions that have the Genin aiding the farms and ranches around the village. For they are always in need of extra aid. But, for the lazy people within the village walls. Our stills would have gone to waste." Naruto answers him truthfully. Allowing the elderly man know his feelings about the villagers and their "D-Rank" missions.

Sarutobi bridges his fingers across his face. Hiding the frown that is currently being displayed as his eyes hide his sorrow from the young blonde standing before him. "We had just received a C-Rank mission to the Land of Waves." He tells Team 10.

"Then we will take it." Ino speaks up for everyone in the room. Not even giving her two sensei's a second thought or glance as she steps forth for the scroll.

"My, my young Ino. I see the faith you have within yourself and teammates. Do you share this same faith with your two Jonin Senseis?" Sarutobi questions her as he is now smiling at her with a slightly dangerous glint held in his old war ridden eyes.

She matches his own smile. Her own eyes hardened as if she had fought alongside him in the last Shinobi War. Catching him off guard slightly. "Yes, I have faith in myself as well as in Naruto and Shikamaru. As well as in Asuma and Ibiki. For if they didn't have faith within us. We wouldn't be here right now standing before you requesting this mission." She answers him. With her smile never leaving her lips nor the dangerous glint in her own eyes never fading. It's to the point the two boys flank each side of her and hold their own dangerous glint in their own eyes.

He nods his head. "Very well. Your client shall be waiting for you at the east gate in one hour." The old Hokage tells them. "Just make sure you understand your mission before leaving the village." He warns them as they bow to leave his office.

As Team 10 turns to leave the Hokage's office. Team 7 comes walking in. With Sasuke openly glaring at Naruto and Shikamaru as Sakura glares at Ino.

Kiba comes walking up to Team 10. "Hey guys." He greets grinning at them.

"Hey Kiba." Naruto greets back as Shikamaru nods his head and Ino waves at him giving him a bright smile.

"Are you guys picking up some D-Rank missions as well?" Kiba questions them. As he notices the different colored scroll in Ino's right hand.

"No, we just picked up our very first mission." Naruto answers without giving too much away.

Sasuke snorts. "What type of mission would losers like you get?" He questions them.

Shikamaru narrows his eyes on the bastard standing before him. "Troublesome. If you must know. We are taking our very first mission as a Genin Team and it is a C-Rank mission." He tells him with boredom lacing his voice.

"That's awesome. I have seen you guys training hard." Kiba speaks up as he pushes past his two entitled teammates. "I have gone by your training grounds to see if you guys want to hang out to see you three hard at work." He tells them with a sheepish smile on his face.

Naruto smiles at him. "Well you should have come to talk with us. We would have taken a break to chat." He tells the feral looking boy.

"I'll do that next time." Kiba answers Naruto with his own smile as Ino grabs both Naruto and Shikamaru arms. "We need to go." She tells them she wasn't in the mood for what was about to happen and knew they needed to leave now or they wouldn't be meeting their client in time.

"Alright. See you later." Kiba tells them as he waves at them ignoring his two raging teammates.
