We begin at Fu's massage shop, where Master Fu is meditating with Wayzz beside him.
"Master, are you okay?" Asked Wayzz. "She's here" Said Master Fu.
Marinette knocks on the door and Wayzz flies off and hides inside the phonograph.
"Hello, Ladybug" Said Master Fu.
The door closes behind Marinette on its own.
"I know you never wanted me to bring her here again but... you must see what she's discovered. Show him, Marinette" Said Tikki. "I've been here; I've met you before. You're the healer that cured Tikki when she was sick!" Said Marinette.
Marinette has flashbacks of her meeting Master Fu.
"Soo... I'm guessing you're not really a vet?" Said Marinette. "Not really. That was your first day of school, that wasn't a chance meeting either" Said Master Fu.
Master Fu has flashbacks of Marinette helping him.
"Marinette, you're always ready to help others. I knew that day, that very moment, that you'd make a fantastic Ladybug!" Declared Master Fu. "But, who are you?" Asked Marinette.
Master Fu stands up and guides Marinette to the phonograph and uses the code which unlocks access to the Miracle Box.
"Master Fu is the last known member of the Order of the Guardians!" Declared Tikki.
Wayzz gets out of the phonograph and starts talking to Marinette.
"Guardians of the Miraculous! I'm Wayzz, Master Fu's kwami. It's a pleasure to meet you, Marinette" Said Wayzz. "Uhh, you too" Said Marinette. "We guardians are responsible for protecting and distributing the Miraculous, for the good of all humanity. We are chosen in childhood and trained for many years, specially for this mission. When we were much, much younger, we... I made a mistake. The guardians' temple was destroyed, all because of me! Two of the Miraculous were lost that day. The Butterfly and the Peacock. Also gone forever was the ancient spellbook!" Said Master Fu. "But all it has are drawings of old superheroes and a bunch of strange symbols" Said Marinette. "Not strange to a Guardian. Back in the days, I was never given the opportunity to even have a look at it, but I've been taught enough to be able to partially decipher the code" Said Master Fu.
Marinette looks at Tikki, then hands the Miraculous book to Master Fu.
"These pages contain various spells capable of giving Ladybug and Cat Noir special abilities we haven't known about, until now! Obviously, this book is invaluable" Said Master Fu.
Meanwhile, in Adrien's room. Nathalie shows CCTV images of Adrien stealing the Miraculous book from Gabriel's safe.
"Why did you take the book?" Asked Gabriel. "I... I just wanted to know what you were hiding behind that portrait that was so important. You.. you never told me about those things. I was intending to give it back to you, I swear! But then... I lost it" Said Adrien. "How can I possibly trust you again, Adrien?" Asked Gabriel. "Sorry... I'll get you another copy" Said Adrien. "It's one of a kind! The book's the source of my inspiration" Said Gabriel. "I didn't know that. I hardly know anything about you, Father" Said Adrien. "Perhaps you are right… You won't be returning to school. You'll be home-schooled again...with Nathalie" Said Gabriel.
Adrien is disappointed. Nathalie looks at Adrien and Gabriel leaves the room. Meanwhile, in the Display room of Hope's home, Emily and Hope are discussing what they know.
"So Hawk Moth might just be Gabriel Agreste, father of our friend and popular model for his own, self named brand, Gabriel. Hey, do you know if Gabriel Agreste pays Adrien for his work or is he a bit of a bad dad and not pay Adrien?" Asked Hope. "Uh… yeah. Gabriel pays Adrien. If Adrien gets paid as much as I do, then it's probably a good idea that he has two models" Said Emily. "Something wrong?" Asked Hope. "I guess I just didn't expect this" Said Emily. "Should anyone have to live in a world where they should expect their boss to be a manipulative power seeking villain?" Asked Hope. "No…" Said Emily. "Hey. Don't worry. It's just as likely that it's all a coincidence. Innocent until proven guilty" Said Hope. "Right. But, is there a way we can determine it?" Asked Emily. "Perhaps… we can" Said Hope.
Hope puts a USB Stick into a port in the screen, before he copies the data from the book onto the USB Stick.
"I'm guessing that I give the data to Gabriel" Said Emily. "Yes. And then you tell him exactly how we got this. Logically, if he then gets Akumatized, then there is president to the theory that Hawk Moth and Gabriel Agreste are the same person" Said Hope. "Because he'd only be doing it so we don't suspect that he is Hawk Moth. And if he doesn't, then what happens?" Asked Emily. "Then… I don't know. Even then, what I'm asking you to do doesn't definitively prove anything… I'm gonna try making something that can track Akumatizations. You deliver this to Gabriel" Said Hope, as he gave Emily the USB Stick. "Ok" Said Emily, taking the USB Stick. "I'm not going to help if a Akumatized Victim shows up, but if Gabriel is Hawk Moth and transforms you call me. I'll be there" Said Hope. "Alright. Happy Building" Said Emily, as she went to leave. "Wait. Take the Stand Driver with you" Said Hope. "Are you sure?" Asked Emily. "It will be a bigger help with you then sitting here" Said Hope. "Ok" Said Emily, as she took the Stand Driver and left.
Meanwhile, in Fu's massage shop. Master Fu is seen reading the Miraculous book. Tikki is chasing Wayzz through the air in circles around the room.
"I've always believed that whoever possessed this spellbook must also have the Peacock and the Butterfly Miraculous" Said Master Fu. "Wait a sec, you mean whoever owned the spellbook could be Hawk Moth?" Asked Marinette. "How did you discover this book, Marinette?" Asked Master Fu.
Marinette has a flashback of Adrien with the Miraculous book.
"I... uh... I found it, lying on a bench in a park close to... close to the school" Said Marinette. "You didn't see who it belonged to, then?" Asked Master Fu. "No. No, I...didn't" Said Marinette, as Tikki looks at Marinette in a bewildered manner. "What a shame. For a moment, I thought we were about to discover the identity of Hawk Moth. We would've had a chance to defeat him" Said Master Fu. "Uh... I could investigate if you want" Said Marinette.
Master Fu closes the book.
"But you must be very careful, Marinette. If you succeed, you may well find yourself face to face with Hawk Moth" Said Master Fu. "I'll be very careful, I promise" Said Marinette.
Marinette stands up and leaves the shop along with Tikki, before she runs frantically through the streets with Tikki consulting her.
"Why did you lie to Master Fu?!" Asked Tikki. "I couldn't tell him that Adrien was the one who had the book. Adrien can't be Hawk Moth! But what if he is?" Asked Marinette.
Marinette runs to a nearby Gabriel advertisement pole, right next to the school. She then imagines that Adrien is Hawk Moth.
"Th-That would mean that I'm crazy in love with a supervillain! I can't be crazy in love with a supervillain... I... I'd have to fight him and..." Said Marinette. "Calm down Marinette, I'm sure there's an explanation" Said Tikki. "I need to get to the bottom of this" Said Marinette. "Do you know where to find Adrien?" Asked Tikki. "I know that boy's schedule by heart" Said Marinette. "Let's go" Said Tikki.
Marinette runs towards the school and enters the Locker room, with several fencing students present
"I don't see him. Something's up. Adrien never misses his fencing lessons" Said Marinette.
In the Hallway. Marinette tries to search for Adrien.
"Oh no!" Exclaimed Chloé.
Marinette runs over to the sound of Chloé's voice, arriving at the classroom, only to see her classmates crowded around Chloé, who's holding her phone and crying while Sabrina attempts to comfort her.
"This is a terrible tragedy!" Declared Chloé. "What's up with her?" Asked Marinette. "Adrien's never coming back to school! Ever! Oh…" Said Chloé. "His dad grounded him!" Declared Kim. "For life" Said Max. "What? Why?" Asked Marinette. "Something about losing this major important book that belongs to his dad" Said Nino. "His dad? Ha! Phew…" Said Marinette.
Everyone stares at Marinette.
"Phew?!" Asked Chloe, irately. "Phew. Cause I... I was scared it was super serious. I mean, yeah, sure, it really is serious but it's not like he's sick or anything, you know. Surely we can fix this, right? We won't just stand by and let this happen! Ha!" Declared Marinette, initially sheepish.
Marinette then runs off and leaves the classroom, heading to the Girls' bathroom. Marinette enters into a stall and lets Tikki out of her purse.
"So it wasn't Adrien's book. It was his father's! Adrien isn't Hawk Moth! I knew it! Adrien doesn't have an evil bone in his body" Said Marinette, sighing in relief. "Except, according to Nino, Adrien did take the book without his father's permission" Said Tikki. "Well, he must've had a good reason to do it" Said Marinette. "You realize, based on Master Fu's theory, Adrien's father could be Hawk Moth" Said Tikki. "No way! It couldn't be! Hmm... An eccentric artist who never leaves his home. Mysterious, very intelligent, but cold, even with his own son. This is a very strong lead, Tikki!" Declared Marinette. "Please be careful, Marinette!" Declared Tikki. "I will. Tikki, spots on! Ha!" Declared Marinette.
Marinette transforms into Ladybug, before she flings her yo-yo and flies above the school roof until she reaches a certain spot, where she attempts to call Cat Noir.
"Has the cat got your tongue? Leave a message!" Declared Cat Noir's Voicemail. "Cat Noir, I think I know who Hawk Moth is! Get your whiskers over here fast!" Declared Ladybug, before she sent the voicemail and called Hope, who answered. "Ladybug. I'm sorry but I'm not going to be able to help if it's an Akumatized Victim" Said Hope. "No, it's not an Akumatized Victim. I think I might know who Hawk Moth is!" Declared Ladybug. "Then I think we're on the same page. I also have an idea on who Hawk Moth is. Can you please hold off on going there? I have a plan that could help determine if who we have arrived at is Hawk Moth, and you or Cat Noir crashing through their front door won't help, sorry to say" Said Hope. "Oh, ah! Certainly" Said Ladybug. "Thank you, Ladybug" Said Hope, as he and Ladybug hung up their phones.
Meanwhile, in Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel is looking at the Klimt style painting of his wife with Nathalie talking to him.
"What will you do without the book?" Asked Nathalie.
Gabriel opens a blank notebook then closes it before handing it to Nathalie.
"You know where this goes" Said Gabriel.
Gabriel storms around while Nathalie walks toward the painting. Gabriel grabs a picture of Adrien off the wall and almost throws it on the floor, but suddenly an image from the front gate appears on the monitor next to Gabriel, showing Emily at the front gate.
"Gabriel! Please open up! I've got a copy of your book on this USB Stick!" Declared Emily, holding up the USB Drive. "Curious… Nathalie, let her inside. I want to see if she's telling the truth" Said Gabriel.
The front gate opens up, and Emily entered the Agreste Mansion's grounds before she walked up to the front door, witch was opened by Adrien's Bodyguard.
"Merci beaucoup, monsieur" Said Emily, as she entered the foyer of the Agreste Mansion, before entering Gabriel's Atelier. "Emily. You said that you had a copy of the book from my safe on that USB Stick" Said Gabriel. "Yes, I did. And I do. You should know how I got this" Said Emily, handing Gabriel the USB Stick. "Did you steal it from my safe?" Asked Gabriel. "No. I found the book in a bin in the Place des Vosges, dumped there by Lila Rossi, who I believe stole it from Adrien. I then gave the book to my friend Hope…" Said Emily. "So why don't you have the original!?" Asked Gabriel. "Because, the book was then given to Ladybug by my friend Hope because it had imagery of ancient versions of herself and Cat Noir as well as other heroes" Said Emily. "Yes, very well. I suppose that this digital copy will do… admittedly, I would have preferred the original, but it is for the good of Paris that Ladybug has it" Said Gabriel. "Well, I guess I will be seeing you tomorrow" Said Emily. "Actually, you will be seeing me later today. You and Adrien have a duel photoshoot later today" Said Gabriel. "Later today? After Adrien gets out of school?" Asked Emily. "No, I've pulled him out of school on the account of him losing my book in the first place" Said Gabriel. "Hum. Fair cop" Said Emily, as she left.
Gabriel's expression changes from one of relief to one of stoicism, as he turns around and presses some buttons hidden on his painting, and the painting slides across on the wall, revealing a hidden passage behind the painting. Gabriel walks through the passage, with the painting closing behind him.
The window in Hawk Moth's lair opens, as Hawk Moth walks into frame.
"I feel...the wrath of a father betrayed by his son. And walls closing in around his secrets. What perfect prey for my akuma!" Declared Hawk Moth.
A butterfly flies into his open palm and he then transforms it into an akuma.
"Stay close, my little akuma!" Declared Hawk Moth.
The akuma flies towards the window, but then stops and hovers at the opening.
"Dark wings, fall!" Declared Hawk Moth.
Hawk Moth detransforms, and Nooroo comes out of the Miraculous, facing his master.
"Uh, why is the akuma still here?" Asked Nooroo.
The view faces the man, who takes off his tie, revealing the Butterfly Miraculous under it, and showing that Hawk Moth is Gabriel Agreste.
"I must become someone else to lead them astray" Said Gabriel. "I don't understand, Master" Said Nooroo. "Nooroo, I renounce you ...temporarily" Said Gabriel, as he takes off the Butterfly Miraculous, causing Nooroo to get sucked into it; then puts the Miraculous into a small box.
A spotlight shines on his empty replacement notebook. Gabriel walks over and grabs it before he then opens it
"Come to me, my little akuma, and evilize me!" Declared Gabriel.
The akuma flies into Gabriel's notebook, transforming him.
"I am now...the Collector! My book of inspiration has been taken from me, so I shall build a new one! And perhaps pick up a Miraculous or two while I'm at it!" Said The Collector, before he laughs evilly.
Meanwhile, in Adrien's room. Adrien uses a remote to open his window, planning to evacuate his room.
"My father's angry because of me. He won't forgive me until I find that book" Said Adrien. "May I remind you that you're actually grounded?" Asked Plagg. "Adrien is, but Cat Noir isn't. Plagg, claws out!" Declared Adrien. "Oh my!" Declared Plagg.
Adrien transforms into Cat Noir, before he receives a notification from his staff and opens up a message he's received from Ladybug.
"Cat Noir, I think I know who Hawk Moth is. Get your whiskers over here, fast!" Declared Ladybug's message. "Wow! I guess the Spellbook will have to wait a bit longer" Said Cat Noir.
Cat Noir extends his staff and vaults off, leaving his room. Meanwhile, at the Agreste Mansion. Nathalie is guarding the atelier door only to be knocked down by the Collector when he kicks open the door.
"Nathalie! You'll be the first of my many inspirations to come" Said The Collector. "Mr. Agreste?" Asked Nathalie. "You will call me...the Collector" Said The Collector.
The Collector swings his book at Nathalie and traps her inside his notebook; then does the same to Adrien's bodyguard a moment later, before going up to Adrien's room and knocking on the door.
"Adrien...I have a great collection I want to show you" Said The Collector.
The Collector kicks open the door to Adrien's room and enters. When he sees that the piano music he heard had been coming from a CD player perched on the piano, he angrily swipes up the CD player, and growls. At The Louvre. Pedestrians are taking photos until the Collector suddenly approaches and traps famous monuments and objects.
"Cheese!" Declared a woman taking a photo.
As the Louvre pyramid gets trapped inside the Collector's notebook, people start screaming and run away with fear. Inside the Louvre, the Collector traps the portrait of the Mona Lisa, and, outside again, Jagged Stone along with Fang. At TVi studio, Nadja Chamack is about to make a news report, until the Collector approaches her.
"Don't be bemused, it's just the news. I'm Nadja Chama…" Said Nadja.
The Collector swipes Nadja into his notebook
"Since the book that used to fill my life is gone, I'm going to use your life to fill up this new one!" Declared The Collector.
At the Hôtel de Ville, Mayor Bourgeois is about to deliver a speech.
"People of Paris…" Said Mayor Bourgeois.
Lieutenant Roger and the other pedestrians gasp after the mayor gets trapped inside the villain's notebook. Rooftops, near the Eiffel Tower. The Collector throws his notebook across the Eiffel Tower, trapping it inside his notebook book with the notebook returning to him like a boomerang.
"Nothing can inspire me more than imprisoning Ladybug and Cat Noir in these pages forever" Said The Collector.
Meanwhile, at the Collège Françoise Dupont rooftop. Ladybug is starting to get impatient waiting for Cat Noir. Ladybug grunts and slides open her yo-yo to contact Cat Noir.
"Cat Noir, what did you do?" Asked Ladybug.
Ladybug's yo-yo rings, and she checks it to see Emily is calling her, so Ladybug answers.
"Emily? Hope told me about the plan, are you ok?" Asked Ladybug. "Oh? I'm fine. I've done my part so now we should see what happens next" Said Emily. "Do you need me and Cat Noir to do anything?" Asked Ladybug. "Be prepared to face an Akumatized Villain. If everything goes right, he'll…" Said Emily, as the call drops.
Meanwhile, at the Arc de Triomphe. The Collector has just used his notebook to swipe Emily's phone.
"Gabriel?" Asked Emily. "I am not Gabriel, I am The Collector!" Declared The Collector.
The Collector throws his notebook at Emily, but Emily rolls under the notebook and slashes at The Collector with her bladed staff, witch he ducked underneath but Emily kicks him with a back kick knocking him off balance. Emily then goes to stab The Collector but the notebook suddenly flies back into his hand, witch he uses to block and swipe Emily's bladed staff. The Collector then goes to swipe Emily but she kicks his wrist upward, sending the book flying into the air before she hits The Collector in the face with a strong right cross, sending him stumbling backwards. Emily then runs towards The Collector and hit him with a flying knee, knocking him down onto his back, before his book landed next to him.
"Let me keep it straight with you, Collector. Whatever misguided attempt at an attack you can come up with, I will see through" Said Emily, as she teleported away. "Damm it!" Declared The Collector.
Meanwhile, back at the Collège Françoise Dupont rooftop, Ladybug suddenly sees Cat Noir arriving, as Emily teleports in beside Ladybug.
"Cat Noir, did you get my messages?" Asked Ladybug. "Yeah, and I can't wait to know more, M'Lady-tective. So, who's the suspect?" Asked Cat Noir. "Our suspect, Cat Noir, is Gabriel Agreste, the fashion designer" Said Emily.
Cat Noir gasps and almost trips after hearing the suspect's name
"I'm sorry for cutting our call short, Ladybug. I was attacked by The Collector" Said Emily. "You got proof?" Asked Cat Noir. "I do. My missing staff for the attack, and as for the suspect… There was a book that belonged to him found by myself after some shenanigans, depicting heroes like yourselves. He uses those motifs in his brand, and me and Hope's best guesses are that he knows more then we know and is some kind of… Guardian of the Miraculous. Or he is Hawk Moth…" Said Emily. "So, I'm supposed to just... accept one of these two options?" Asked Cat Noir. "Well, have either of you two searched the internet for the term Miraculous? How widespread is the knowledge of the Miraculous? If these symbols, or any information, doesn't show up on what is the biggest information hub known to man, true or not, then it's logical to assume that Gabriel is a major player in our game" Said Emily. "I've already searched up Miraculous and Kwamis before. The closest thing to accurate on anything I know about Kwamis is stuff on fairies and spirits, and some legends on historical jewellery like the Iron Ring of Prometheus and the earring from Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring" Said Ladybug. "Right. So, I think we should probably go to Gabriel Agreste's Home and talk to him" Said Emily. "Hum… ok. We should check for ourselves if he is an ally or an enemy" Said Cat Noir. "Thank you, Cat Noir" Said Emily, as she put her hand on his shoulder and nodded to him.
Ladybug and Cat Noir, carrying Emily, leave the school to go and investigate as The Collector watches them from behind a statue
"My plan is working perfectly!" Declared The Collector.
Some time later, at Gabriel's atelier. Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir find many broken pieces of furniture as they come to investigate.
"Whoa, what happened here? Looks like somebody had a little tantrum" Said Ladybug. "This isn't the state it was in when I got here…" Said Emily. "Well, he could have threw everything around after you left" Said Ladybug. "If anything, that proves that he's hiding something" Said Emily.
Cat Noir sees his painting of him and his family on his Father's desk. Cat Noir sighs with heartache.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Asked Ladybug. "Yeah. Yeah, let's keep going" Said Cat Noir. "… hey, if you have other leads on who Hawk Moth, it's ok if you want to follow them you know" Said Emily. "Oh. No, no. It's ok" Said Cat Noir. "He's got a son! Let's go check his room. Make sure nothing's happened to him" Said Ladybug. "Great idea!" Declared Cat Noir.
Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir run towards the front hall until they see the Collector at the top of the main stairs.
"Where's Gabriel Agreste?" Asked Cat Noir. "There is no more Gabriel Agreste. There is only...the Collector!" Declared the Collector. "Watch out. His Notebook can trap objects inside of itself" Said Emily, pulling the Stand Player out of her pocket.
Emily placed the Stand Driver on her waist, before it formed a belt around her waist. Emily held up the Aerosmith Stand Tape before she inserted the Aerosmith Stand Tape into the Stand Player, making it announce "Kono Bīto! Kuruu!", before Emily pressed a button on the front of the Stand Player, making it announce "Kuruoshī! Yasei! Hijōshiki! YEAH! YEAH! Vento Aureo, Aerosmith!", as she transformed into Kamen Rider Stand Aerosmith Form.
"Kamen Rider Stand. The golden wind is behind us!" Declared Emily. "A simple wind isn't enough to stop me!" Declared The Collector.
The Collector throws his notebook towards Emily, trying to trap her inside of it but twin Gatling Guns flip out onto her shoulders as she unloads into the book witch the book traps inside itself before she manages to dodge the hit by flying up, which leads the notebook to trap the Mansion entrance door instead. The notebook heads back the way it came, towards Ladybug and Cat Noir. Ladybug knocks Cat Noir to the floor before the notebook manages to touch them.
"You won't be able to escape!" Declared The Collector. "Neither will you!" Declared Emily.
Emily kicks both of her legs at The Collector, shooting a pair of bombs at him witch explode before hitting him. Emily lands next to Ladybug and Cat Noir.
"Hopefully those explosions will have been enough to knock him out…" Said Emily.
Suddenly, through the smoke came The Collector's notebook, witch chases Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir around the room as they run away from it. They then come to the large dining room.
Cat Noir throws his staff towards the now approaching Collector, only to have it trapped inside his notebook, which causes the superheroes to gasp.
"Nice piece, wouldn't you agree?" Asked The Collector. "I heard it comes with about a kilogram of lead!" Declared Emily.
Emily summoned the Stand Enforcer in rifle mode, before firing the Stand Enforcer at the Collector, witch he effortlessly blocked with his notebook. The two Gatling Guns on her shoulders began to fire at The Collector, witch he blocked with his notebook once again, however also driving The Collector back with her rate of fire.
"You two, when you are ready!" Declared Emily.
Cat Noir throws a chair at the Collector, which gets trapped inside his notebook as well before Emily stops firing at The Collector. Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir continue running away back into the main hall. The Collector erases the trapped chair inside his notebook, before looking at the heroes.
"The akuma's gotta be in that book!" Declared Ladybug. "Correct" Said Emily. "Yeah, but if we touch it, we'll disappear!" Declared Cat Noir. "It seems he can remove objects from his book as well. There's also finite pages…" Said Emily.
Suddenly, The Collector pointed the book at Emily and fired two shots from the book towards Emily, causing small explosions on impact witch forcing her down to her knee.
"What was that?" Asked Ladybug. "How did you do that!?" Asked Cat Noir. "Well, I realised something. Why erase what's in my book when I can use them as my own projectiles? Isn't it creative?" Asked The Collector. "It would have been a lot more creative if you didn't tell us about it" Said Emily. "Ok. I think it's now time for my Lucky Charm!" Declared Ladybug.
A set of pedals appears
"A pedal?" Asked Ladybug. "Yeah, maybe that could do something" Said Emily.
Ladybug tries her Lucky Vision to figure out what to do with the pedal, but sees nothing.
"I have no idea what to do with this. We need to stall him" Said Ladybug. "Upstairs, quickly!" Declared Emily.
Emily, Ladybug and Cat Noir attempt to run upstairs but The Collector uses his notebook to make the staircase disappear.
"Ok… we may be boned" Said Emily. "You three shall be the masterpieces in my new book of inspiration" Said the Collector.
The fight continues with The Collector firing out a plethora of bullets at the three heroes witch Emily blocked, taking some damage before The Collector vigorously tries to touch Cat Noir with his book but fails. Ladybug then attaches her yo-yo onto his arm, making his notebook released from his hand, which gives him the opportunity to touch Ladybug but that doesn't work either. Cat Noir kicks the notebook away from his hand, but the Collector kicks Cat Noir and tries to reach for his notebook, but Emily fires at his hand from above, making him hesitate for a moment where Ladybug uses her yo-yo and attaches it to the Collector's leg, pinning him on to the floor. However, the Collector manages to grab his notebook and traps Ladybug's yo-yo inside. Ladybug shrieks as the loss of the yo-yo string throws her off-balance.
My collection's growing!" Declared The Collector. "No!" Declared Ladybug.
Ladybug, Cat Noir, Emily and the Collector are grunting as they are fighting. As the Collector continues chasing Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir, they jump up to the second floor.
"So that must mean...Gabriel Agreste can't possibly be Hawk Moth, since he's been akumatized!" Declared Cat Noir. "Uh, yeah! Already learned that" Said Emily. "You call Agreste turning into the Collector good news?!" Asked Ladybug. "Not right now!" Declared Emily.
The superheroes return to running away from the Collector, arriving at Adrien's room. Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir arrive there after the Collector chases them up there. The superheroes barricade the door entrance using the furniture in Adrien's room to prevent the Collector from entering.
"Gabriel Agreste's son isn't at home?" Asked Ladybug. "Maybe the Collector's already captured him" Said Cat Noir. "You think he'd take it out on his own son?" Asked Ladybug, gasping in shock. "Uh..." Said Cat Noir. "Unlikely. Gabriel has had nothing but praise of his son, to me anyway" Said Emily. "Oh…" Said Cat Noir. "You cannot escape from me" Said The Collector, who laughs after making the objects blocking his way disappear. "What if he has no pages left in his book?" Asked Ladybug. "Perfect! I've got an idea" Said Emily, as she ejects the Aerosmith Stand Tape from the Stand Player. "So do I!" Declared Ladybug, as she uses her Lucky Vision again, witch highlights Adrien's Game Collection, a Foosball Table, Cat Noir's Belt, and the Stand Tape in Emily's hand, labeled Golden Experience.
Emily placed the Golden Experience Stand Tape into the Stand Player, making it announce "Kono Bīto! Kuruu!", before Emily pressed a button on the front of the Stand Player, making it announce "Kuruoshī! Yasei! Hijōshiki! Lights, camera, make a scene! Golden Experience! I… have a dream", as she transformed into Kamen Rider Stand Golden Experience Form. After the Collector manages to free himself from the barricaded entrance, he chases Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir around the room. Ladybug hides behind the TV out of the Collector's sight, as Emily disappears from sight in a ripple of light.
"Looks like your friend has abandoned you! Now before I immortalize what remains, allow me to seize your Miraculous for Hawk Moth!" Declared The Collector. "Cat Noir, I need ammunition!" Declared Ladybug.
The Collector traps the TV and chases Ladybug.
"You need what?" Asked Cat Noir. "We're gonna complete his collection!" Declared Ladybug. "Very smart M'Lady, quite ingenious" Said Cat Noir. "Less talking, more doing" Said Ladybug.
Ladybug detaches Cat Noir's tail from his suit and leaps next to the Foosball table while Cat Noir continues fighting the Collector by his library, until the Collector is thrown onto the rock-climbing wall.
"Cataclysm!" Declared Cat Noir.
Cat Noir uses the cataclysm on the bookshelf, with CDs dropping down. Ladybug then attaches the pedal along with Cat Noir's tail to the Foosball table to create a makeshift device
"Ready, Cat Noir?" Asked Ladybug. "I'm always ready for you, M'Lady!" Declared Cat Noir.
Ladybug uses the makeshift device to fire numerous CDs dropped down by Cat Noir towards the Collector as he approaches Ladybug, who decided to fire out the bullets at the CDs fired by Ladybug, shattering the CDs fired at him.
"Come on! Come on!" Declared Ladybug. "No more ammo!" Declared Cat Noir.
As the Collector closes in on Ladybug, he traps the Foosball table itself inside his notebook, and then attempts to touch Ladybug but is distracted by a loud buzzing sound.
"What's that noise?" Asked The Collector. "This noise? It's the hum of death, Collector" Said Emily, as she appeared behind the Collector.
The Collector turned around, to see Emily standing in front of a swarm of Wasps.
"But… how!?" Declared The Collector. "Golden Experience! New life, spring forth!" Declared Emily.
The bullets and CD Shards around them began to morph and evolve into new wasps, joining the army of the surrounding wasps. The wasps then started to fly into the book, filling its pages. The Collector quickly closed the book but Emily punched the Collector in his hand, knocking the book out of his hands and towards Ladybug.
"My book! No!" Declared The Collector, as Ladybug picked up the book.
Ladybug grabs the book and rips the book into two pieces, making the akuma flies out.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" Declared Ladybug.
Ladybug throws the Lucky Charm into the air and turns everything back to normal, including returning Cat Noir's baton Ladybug's yo-yo to them, as well as returning the objects in the Notebook to their place before finally returning the state of Adrien's CDs back to being CDs on his shelves.
"Ok. No more evildoing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize! Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly" Said Ladybug, as she catches the akuma with her yo-yo and releases the akuma, turning it back into a normal butterfly.
The Collector turns back to Gabriel.
"Pound...Uh" Said Ladybug.
Ladybug sees Cat Noir heading towards Gabriel.
"Pound it!" Declared Emily, giving Ladybug a fist bump. "Are you okay, Faaa...sir?" Asked Cat Noir. "Cat Noir, Ladybug, Hope… what happened to me?" Asked Gabriel. "Emily, but that's not here or there. Most importantly, you were akumatized by Hawk Moth. But don't worry… it's over now" Said Emily. "Oh, Thank you, thank you, all of you! Adrien...where is my son?" Asked Gabriel, gasping upon realizing that his son is nowhere to be seen. "He...must be hiding" Said Cat Noir. "Cat Noir is right, otherwise your son would have reappeared right here" Said Ladybug. "Nothing must happen to him. He's too precious to me" Said Gabriel.
Gabriel puts his hands on the shoulders of Cat Noir, who gazes at him, smiling as Ladybug notices the spots on her earring are about to wear off and warns Cat Noir.
"We're about to transform back. Goodbye, Mr. Agreste" Said Ladybug. "Don't worry yourself, sir. I'm sure your son is safe and sound" Said Cat Noir. "Yeah. It'll all be ok, Gabriel" Said Emily.
Ladybug, Emily and Cat Noir vault off, assured that everything is fine with Gabriel. Gabriel smiles evilly to himself.
"See you very soon!" Declared Gabriel, sinisterly.
Some time later, at Fu's massage shop. Tikki and Wayzz are playing with the phonograph while Marinette is being consulted by Master Fu.
"So, since Gabriel Agreste was akumatized, he can't possibly be Hawk Moth, right?" Asked Marinette. "That's very probable, but...how did you find out that Gabriel Agreste was the owner of the Spellbook?" Asked Master Fu. "At first, I was thinking the book belonged to Gabriel Agreste's son, Adrien, 'cause I saw him with it at school, well before it was stolen by a girl and before Emily stole it and Hope gave it to me, and I'd only just met you so I… I didn't know if I could tell you that, so yeah…" Said Marinette. "You were afraid in case the one you love turned out to be Hawk Moth" Said Master Fu. "Wha... Uh, no, uh, how did you know that? I mean, I don't love him at all" Said Marinette.
Marinette chuckles nervously as Master Fu giggles
"Oh, all right, yes, Adrien is amazing. I couldn't stand the thought of him being a supervillain" Said Marinette. "You know, Marinette, if we want to be stronger than Hawk Moth, we have to trust each other" Said Master Fu. "I know… but now, Adrien will never be able to come back to school because I can never give him that book back. I'll never ever see him again!" Declared Marinette, as she falls over on the floor, whimpering. "There isn't a single problem that can't be solved, Marinette" Said Master Fu.
Master Fu starts taking pictures of the contents of the Miraculous Spellbook using his phone
"These modern inventions really are quite incredible. Hmm" Said Master Fu.
Later, at Agreste Mansion. Marinette talks to Gabriel about the "incident" of her stealing the spellbook, as Emily, Adrien and Nathalie watch on.
"So, when Ladybug was swinging away to go and fight the Collector it fell out of her Yo-Yo and I wanted to take a peek because I saw Adrien with it. You see, I thought it was a portfolio with lots of pictures of him 'cause he's so cute. Uh, but you already knew that. Anyway, um, when I found out that it wasn't I decided to immediately return it to you" Said Marinette. "I see. So, you're one of his admirers?" Asked Gabriel. "Admirers? Yeah. That's the word" Said Marinette.
Marinette gives the Miraculous book back to Gabriel, who passes it to Nathalie.
"You won't say anything to him, will you?" Asked Marinette.
Gabriel shakes his head
"Are you going to let Adrien come back to school?" Asked Marinette. "Well, considering he didn't actually lose my book as it was borrowed by you, yes I will" Said Gabriel. "Thank you" Said Marinette.
Nathalie guides Marinette out the door
"Hmm, can I ask you a question?" Asked Marinette.
Gabriel nods
"I flipped through the book and it looked really awesome. Those illustrations of legendary heroes are super...inspiring. Where did you get it?" Asked Marinette. "I found it while I was on a trip overseas with my wife. I've never seen another physical copy of it… but I received a digital copy of it earlier today from Emily" Said Gabriel. "Oh, uh. Well then, you're very lucky to own it" Said Marinette, as she waves and leaves Gabriel's Atelier before exiting his mansion. "It was really brave what you just did for Adrien" Said Tikki. "Thanks, Tikki. All that really matters is for Adrien to be allowed out of the house again" Said Marinette, as she slowly walks away from the Agreste mansion.
Meanwhile, in Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel returns the Spellbook to its shelf and talks to Adrien about the incident.
"I'm sorry I became so furious over a book" Said Gabriel. "I shouldn't have taken it without your permission" Said Adrien. "That book...was the very last gift your mother gave to me before...before she disappeared. All I have left of her is this book...and you. But I know I can't keep the book or you locked up in this house forever" Said Gabriel. "Does that mean you'll let me go back to school, then?" Said Adrien.
Gabriel nods his head.
"Thank you, Father!" Declared Adrien, as he hugs his father in gratitude.
Gabriel looks up at Emily and Nathalie, who look at him approvingly. The next day, at Collège Françoise Dupont. The students see that Adrien has returned and run up to him. Nino first shares a hug with Adrien, until Chloé pushes him aside and leaps into Adrien's arms and takes a selfie. A crowd of students, notably those whom Adrien is familiar with, also surround him. Marinette then sighs in relief with Alya by her side. Meanwhile, in Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel is looking at the pages of the Miraculous book on his monitor with small notes on it, revealing that he already owned a digital version of the Spellbook.
"So then, if you already had a copy of the book, why'd you go through all that trouble?" Asked Nathalie. "…I did what had to do to keep my secret" Said Gabriel.
Gabriel presses a code that is incorporated within the painting of Emilie Agreste, which then displays a secret floor hatch that takes Gabriel to a secret place, revealing his lair. Gabriel opens up the small white box where the Butterfly Miraculous is stored, and Nooroo pops out.
"Happy to see me again?" Asked Gabriel. "At your service, Master" Said Nooroo. "Nooroo, dark wings rise!" Declared Gabriel.
Nooroo is absorbed, and Gabriel transforms into Hawk Moth and grunts ferociously.
"Ladybug, Cat Noir — you almost managed to find out who I am; but now I am more above suspicion than I've ever been. As of today, nothing will prevent me from getting your Miraculous, and making my greatest wish come true! All I need to do now is wait for my next prey" Said Hawk Moth.
Meanwhile, at Hope's Home, Hope turns on a screen witch displays a map of the entirety of France before it zooms into a map of Paris.
"Perfect" Said Hope. "Whatcha made?" Asked Emily, as she entered the room. "Ah, there you are. I heard there was a Akumatized Villan attack yesterday. Was it our prime suspect?" Asked Hope. "Yes, it was. He did exactly what you said he would. But if I remember correctly, you also said that it isn't definitive proof" Said Emily. "Correct. Do you know where Gabriel was Akumatized?" Asked Hope. "When we got to his home, it was a mess so that must be the Akuma Point" Said Emily. "Akuma Point? Short for Akumatization Point, I guess? Ok…" Said Hope.
Hope types into a console, and a dot with one half red and one half purple appears over Gabriel's mansion.
"The map will update every time a person is Akumatized in Paris, by detecting the energy of an Akumatization. Once we can prove with this data that the Akumas are coming from Gabriel's Mansion, then we'll confront him with it" Said Hope. "Alright. Akumatizations are red, right?" Asked Emily. "Right. If another purple dot shows up on the map, then that's somewhere Hawk Moth's lair could be. We would do good at investigating those immediately" Said Hope. "So. I guess you've refound your purpose, huh?" Asked Emily. "I could only do it with your help… Now. Let's solve this Miraculous Mystery" Said Hope.
