Adrien's P.O.V.:
Danny didn't come home last night, and he was hurt badly. So, it didn't bother me when he didn't go to school or anyone except Lila. The news was covering a ghost attack and what do you know my cousin just flew onto the scene to help. He was still hurt from last night, but Sam and Tucker didn't seem to care. Marinette was trying to convince everyone that Lila was lying about her being in a relationship with Danny. Not this again what did Marinette have against Lila.
Plagg has been quiet today since my fight with Danny actually. Don't tell me Plagg took Danny's side and believed that he was telling the truth when he said he didn't ask Lila out. I sighed when I looked at my phone. My dad was sending me somewhere for a photo shoot. I leave tomorrow I was happy about the space it would give me from Danny. But I'm going to have to tell ladybug. That night on patrol it was just ladybug and me. I was thankful that my cousin was nowhere to be seen human or ghost. Milady met me later than normal. "Sorry I was just cheeking to see if Danny Fenton was okay. He talked to me last night said he's thinking about going back to the states." She told me and I replied with maybe he should calling him heartless and undead.
"How could you even say that about him his cousin and friends are calling him heartless as well and he heard you call him that last night while you were talking to Marinette. Did you even consider that he never actually asked her out? And leave your ring here when you leave, I'll find someone to fill in for you. I think Chat Phantom has a nice ring to it." Milady said and I sighed of course he heard me he was probably floating nearby invisible.
In the morning I sent a text to Luka he knew who ladybug was, so I told him that Ladybug wanted to have my ring until I got back from my trip. I also told him to try to talk her out of giving the ring to my cousin. I met Luka at the airport and gave him the ring.
By the next day news of my replacement was online and it was my cousin. My cousin mixed black and green with hints of white giving the ghostly appearance. He did it in such a way that no one would guess that my replacement was Danny Phantom. I watched the fight on the lady blog "Pound it!" milady said while fist bumping my cousin. That was our thing. I watched the two of them when I had time and it went from a fist bump to a secret handshake. I can't believe him he just shows up and gets the job done with friendly banter with milady. She's replacing me with my half dead cousin. Is she trying to teach me a lesson?
When I got back to Paris Danny wasn't home he was out with ladybug on patrol then I noticed the news "the day was saved yet again from a ghost attack and an akuma attack thanks to Ladybug and Chat Phantom who has been filling in for both Chat Noir and the ghost hero who Ladybug had named Danny Phantom….." the news anchor said as I walked out of the airport to get home. Danny was there when I got home doing homework we didn't say anything to each other he just started texting someone on his phone.
That night I realized he moved out of my room. I don't care about that he also was leaving early in the morning and got an afternoon job at the bakery that Marinette's parents ran. When I asked Nathalie about Danny leaving early she told me that he walks with Marinette everyday to school so he quickly makes himself something and leaves after saying good morning to her. He also asks her to remind my dad that he has work after school so don't worry about food for him he will make himself something when he gets home.
At school Danny avoid everyone except Marinette. He broke up with Lila even though he still claimed that they were never a thing in the first place. He sat with Marinette in class since no one else would sit with him. They would joke around and she would show him her sketches. "Are these outfits inspired by Danny Phantom and Chat Phantom?" he asked her
"Yeah it they are really cool do you like them? I was thinking of doing outfits based off the heroes of Paris."She started rambling but Danny smiled telling her that they were amazing and that the heroes would think so two not wanting to call attention to himself. I sent a text to Luka asking him to tell ladybug that I'm back. He responded that night telling me that she wouldn't be returning the ring to me until my cousin decides to. My cousin seriously my lady is letting my cousin make the call. Danny signed up for the talent show with Marinette. What's he gonna do walk through walls? Fly? You know what I don't want to know. I found my ring in my room the next day after a news conference with Chat Phantom saying that he and Danny Phantom are retiring from the hero game. Danny retired from being a hero I didn't believe it but I never found him to talk to him. He even made himself scarce when I'm out on patrol. I was thankful for that.
I got to school the next day before Danny and Marinette when I heard them talking about what they were doing for the school talent show. They were doing a comedy act apparently. "How about this one Mari? What do you get if you mix Chat noir with Viperion? A black Viper." Danny grinned at the joke but Marinette said it needed some work. She wasn't wrong that joke was terrible.
I didn't see Danny leave for the day but I caught Marinette. No one sees Danny leave school anymore it's as if he just disappeared. "Sorry Adrien I know you're busy today and I have to work with Danny bye." She got out before running off. She didn't stutter this time but ran into something as I got in my car. At fencing I wasn't paying attention. Kagami noticed and asked me what's wrong after. I'm surprised she didn't hear about the fight I had with Danny. I ended up telling her everything. She slapped me and I was confused.
"Your cousin has honor he would wait until he was ready to ask a girl out and would have talked to you about it first. He also would have taken the time to ask them out properly. I saw him at the bakery he is haunted by his past." She explained before walking away. I ended up in my room when I got home. There was an akuma attack and I went to deal with it. Ladybug wasn't happy to see me though.
"Let's just get this done I got plans tonight with Danny Phantom." She told me and I blurted out his real identity. She laughed at me before telling me that she knew that already and zipped off. I frowned as she left after the fight was over. Did Danny tell Ladybug his real identity while I was away? I decided to spy on Danny and Marinette.
"Remind me why I agreed to do this?" Marinette asked Danny who smiled.
"Because you need the confidence boost here try to make a joke about this." He explained before handing her a thermos. She thought about it for a while and smiled. It wasn't a good joke so they kept trying with other things before Marinette suggested that Danny headed home. He nodded his head before she walked him to the door. I watched as they did a secret handshake similar to the one Chat Phantom and Ladybug did but it was different. She watched as he transformed into his ghost from and took off into the night. I went home as well to find Danny trying to make things up with Tucker and Sam but getting nowhere he gave up, did his homework and went to his room. Heard things breaking from his room in anger and saw flashes of green light as I passed his room to get to mine. He was using his powers to break things. And since he was so angry he was a target for hawkmoth. I asked Plagg to keep an eye on Danny but I had to bribe him with cheese.
