"There is no Earth."
They all looked up at their Commander. What was he saying?
"There," Adama said, bitterly. "I've said it. I've admitted it. I've let you down, and I'm sorry. Spread the word." He turned to leave.
"Sir, there's a ship that's just appeared-"
"Cylon, Lieutenant Gaeta?" Tigh was there at once.
"No, sir." Gaeta's hand went to his earpiece. "Sir, we're receiving a message…"
"Play it."
The speakers crackled, and a voice –obviously delivered by inferior or damaged technology on the newcomer's end- rang out in on the deck.
"This is Admiral Smith of the U.S.S. Prometheus of Earth. We are peaceful explorers…"

I've had this lil scene in mind since the first time Adama said he really didn't believe Earth existed… hee hee.
