Author's Notes - This will be the story of Naruto having received the rinnegan from Tobi. The idea is, Tobi saw that Nagato's body was too worn down from the constant use of the Rinnegan. Naruto, being an Uzumaki along with Senju DNA, also, the reincarnation of Asura, his body can handle it. Plus, having Kyuubi inside of him, it allows for Naruto's body to deal with the constant strain and slow down the weakening of his body.

Naruto Uzumaki, a twelve year old boy that only desires one thing in this entire world. It's to be accepted by the people of Konohagakure. Ever since he was born, people have glared at him with both anger and disgust. Up until his eighth birthday, Naruto received many beatings that were beyond life threatening. Had he not been the Jinchuriki of Kyuubi, Naruto's life would have ended.

On the blond's eighth birthday, he was met by a particular man in a mask. He was introduced as Tobi and explained that he's been watching Naruto. As a gift to prevent anyone from ever hurting him again, Tobi implanted both Rinnegan eyes into Naruto. At first, Tobi was concerned if Naruto would be able to handle such power. It was then realized that like his former servent, Naruto also had both Uzumaki and Senju DNA. Though he was unaware of it, Tobi knew that the Kyuubi would make sure Naruto's body could adjust to it.

Many villagers and shinobi had decided to play their favorite game on Naruto's birthday, hunt the demon. The blond was chased around Konoha and when he found himself at a dead end, Naruto was scared and didn't know what to do. As the ninja stepped closer, something awoken in Naruto's mind and he suddenly sent all the shinobi flying away.

For days and weeks, many declared that Kyuubi has returned. Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third hokage was greatly concerned with the blond. Having learned that Naruto awoken the rinnegan, this brought both joy and fear to the hokage. Joy, because Naruto would become much stronger and would be the perfect weapon for Konoha. Fear because the boy he considered a grandson would have a massive target on his back. In the end, Hiruzen decided to let things play out for the young blond.

Ninja Academy : Team Selection

Today was the day that all thirty graduating students would receiving their genin teams. With thirty students passing, ten genin teams were set to be formed. Each student had their own opinion with some being determined, arrogant, and even scared.

Young Naruto Uzumaki, the boy showed no interest if he graduated or not. In fact, since his eighth birthday, Naruto has stopped caring about many of things. For some reason, his ability to feel the emotions others had towards him, it influenced him to shut everyone off. Even his instructor, Iruka Umino, he had grown worried for the boy.

Before the blond's transformation, Naruto wore an ugly orange jumpsuit. He kept a pair of goggles on his forehead and pretended it was an official shinobi headband. Naruto was also known for pulling multiple pranks on the villagers. Ever since his transformation, everything about the blond changed.

Naruto wore a black jacket over a black, sleevless shirt. He wore a pair of black shinobi pants and sandals. Having no need for weapons, Naruto didn't bother in getting a holder for his ninja tools. His once, bright yellow hair, it faded into a tanish color that could sometimes appear white.

The thin whiskers that once sat on his cheeks, they were replaced with thick rectangular marks that were black. Naruto's once Cerulean eyes full of life, were replaced with a purple eye that contained six rings on the inside. The rings had three tomo, just like the Uchiha clan's powerful bloodline, the sharingan. Each ring had a set of tomo,

Naruto had spent his remaining years, studying and learning as many jutsu as he could. One of the benefits of having the rinnegan, it gave him an affinity for all five chakra natures. The hokage played a small part by giving Naruto a scroll that contained jutsu from C rank Jutsu, each element, and their was an offensive, defensive, and supplimentary jutsu.

In six months, Naruto mastered all fifteen jutsu, and even managed to master one of the six paths, the Deva path. It was no secret that Naruto was a secret prodigy. However, he continued doing the bare minimum to avoid suspicion

"Good morning class." said the voice of the class's instructor, Iruka Umino. Like many of Konoha's higher ups, Iruka wore the standard blue shirt and pants, along with a green vest. On the back of the vest, and shoulders of the shirts, a red swirl was placed on the back. This was to represent Konoha's alliance with the Land of Whirlpool that got destroyed many years ago.

The students were sitting around as they waited for their teams to be called. Teams one through six were considered to be full of students with no particular skills and they were often sent to the reserves. As Iruka was calling the names out, Naruto was lost in his own thoughts.

The blond was thinking about how life as a shinobi. Many of the kids in the class have the false ideals that being a ninja will have them rescue princesses along with becoming famous and loved by everyone. The teachers and adults are often to blame for not explaining the real truth and horrors of the shinobi world.

"Okay, teams seven through ten will be specialized squads. Team seven. This team will be known as a frontal assault squad. In many cases, squads will be deployed to engage an enemy whose strengths and weaknesses are unknown. The members on this team will consist of Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki, and Suki Uchiha. Your jonin sensei will be Kakashi Hatake." Iruka said with a nod.

Sakura was happily cheering that she was placed on a team with her best friend. While Suki hung out with Sakura and Ino, ever since the Uchiha massacre, she found herself more closed off along with having a glaring attitude. Naruto remained passive and showed no interest about who his teammates were or who his sensei would be.

"Team eight. This team will be known as a tracking and recovery squad. In many cases, you'll need to locate a target along with keeping a trail on them in order to allow other teams to engage. The members on this team will consist of Hinata Hyuga, Shino Aburame, and Kiba Inuzuka. Your jonin sensei will be Kurenai Yuhi" Iruka said.

Kiba seemed to fired up at hearing his team while Hinata gave a soft smile. Shino, similarly to Naruto, he didn't show any emotions at hearing his new team.

"Since Team nine is current in rotation, we'll move to team ten. This team will be known as a recon and information gather. Remember, information is what decides, life or death. Bad information is more dangerous than not having any information. Remember that well. The members of this team will be Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi. Your jonin sensei will be Asuma Sarutobi." Iruka said.

Many of the students were talking among themselves while being given a break to grab lunch. Since Naruto was anti-social, he packed his own lunch and remained in his seat. While the teachers didn't like to leave the students unattended, Naruto has shown that he remains in his seat and eats silently while reading a book or scroll. Iruka often blamed himself for not being their for the boy but knew it was too late. Naruto's jonin sensei could deal with it.

When the students returned, eight of the nine jonin sensei's appeared. Each of them called for their team and when they left, only Naruto, Suki, and Sakura remained. Sakura kept talking with Suki about boys and looking cute while Suki simply remained silent. Her focus was on her other teammate. The number one knucklehead and prankster of Konoha. She noticed a big change in his appearance and attitude. One of the biggest questions she had was what happened to his eyes.

Two hours passed and Sakura was nearly on the verge of shouting. To say that Suki wasn't annoyed, it would be an understatement. Naruto, however, kept reading his scroll as he waited. Feeling the presence of a strong chakra signature, Naruto put his scroll away and looked up. Entering the classroom, a man with silver hair that appeared to defy gravity, along with a blue face mask. His headband was tilted to the side which gave his right eye the only visable spot on his body.

"Hello, my name is Kakashi Hatake. Please meet me on the roof." the jonin said as he vanished in a shunshin. Naruto followed suit as he also vanished. Suki and Sakura were shocked on how the deadlast could do such a jutsu. They quickly made their way up to the roof.

Sitting on a chair across from the students. Sakura sat on the left while Suki took the middle, and Naruto was on the far right. Kakashi was studying each of the students through his single eye, though he was pretending to read his favorite orange book. "So, Sakura Haruno. Typical girl that's only focused on looking pretty and impressing boys. Suki Uchiha, last loyal Uchiha survivor. No doubt she's got a darker personaliy, but it seems that being friends with Sakura and Ino has helped her greatly. Finally, Naruto Uzumaki. The number one knucklehead and prankster of Konoha, untill four years ago. So, those are the rinnegan. I always thought it was a mith. I wonder how much of his eyes he's mastered." Kakashi silently thought.

"Alright, as you all know, I'm your jonin sensei. We'll be doing introductions. This way, we can learn a little bit about each other. I'll begin. My name, as you know, is Kakashi Hatake. I enjoy reading and relaxing. I never really gave much thought about what I dislike. I suppose brats would be up on that list. My dreams for the future? I'm not really sure. You go first, pinky." Kakashi said.

Sakura didn't seem to like the nickname but shrugged it off. "My name is Sakura Haruno. I like hanging out with Ino and Suki. I also enjoy going downtown, shopping. I dislike perverts and those who are loud and obnouxious. My dream for the future is to fall in love with my princess charming." Sakura said with an excited tone.

Kakashi's sweat was running down the side of his head. "Okay, you're turn, miss personality." Kakashi said in a joking tone.

Suki gave an annoyed glare. "My name is Suki Uchiha. I guess you can say that I enjoy training and gardening. I dislike many things. My dream for the future isn't a dream, but will one day become a reality. I will avenge my clan by destroying a certain someone." Suki said in a dark tone.

Kakashi looked at her without any emotion. "Okay. Next is you, eyeballs." Kakashi said. Both girls were curious to see how Naruto would respond.

The boy looked up at the silver haired jonin. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki. I don't really have anything that I enjoy. I don't really dislike anything either. My dreams for the future is to create a world without hatred, pain, and war. I also plan on breaking the cycle of hatred." Naruto said.

"Interesting." Kakashi silently thought as he continued reading the genin. "Alright, you're all very different and each have something different about you. Tomorrow morning, we'll begin your final test." Kakashi said.

Sakura jumped up. "Wait, what? We already took our graduation exams! Why do we need to have another test?" asked Sakura.

Kakashi let out a small chuckle. "Hey, why are you laughing? Sakura does have a point. Why are we taking another test?" asked Suki.

"You three were among the few academy students who have shown promise of being a shinobi. However, the graduation failure rate is sixty-six percent. Which means, only one third of the graduades will actually pass. Meet me at training field number seven, at five am. Also, I advise you not to eat breakfeast. You'll most likely throw it up." Kakashi said as he vanished in a shunshin, leaving the three genin.

Suki and Sakura looked at each other. "Well, I guess we have the whole day off. Do you want to go shopping or something?" asked Sakura.

Suki looked at her friend and then back at Naruto. "Hey, Naruto was it? Do you want to come with us?" asked Suki.

Naruto looked at the girl with his purple eyes. "No thank you. However, I think the three of us should sit down and discuss where are strengths are, along with creating a game plan for tomorrow." Naruto said in an emotionless tone.

"I guess you do have a good point. Alright, I need to go to the store. I'll meet you all at the Uchiha compound." Suki said. Naruto vanished in a shunshin.

"Hey, why did you invite him? He's really weird." Sakura said.

Suki gave her teammate an annoyed expression. "It doesn't matter is he's weird or not. The three of us are a team and we need to know what we can all do. Besides, I don't think this is the same Naruto from the ninja academy." Suki pointed out.

"What do you mean?" asked Sakura.

Suki sighed. "I'm saying that I think he was holding back. I don't know, maybe I'm being weird. But I don't think any of us has seen what he can do." Suki said. Sakura nodded and the two girls went to the store before going to the Uchiha compound to meet with Naruto.

Uchiha Compound

Naruto arrived outside the gate and was greeted by Suki. "Hi, Naruto. Follow me." Suki said. Naruto gave a nod and followed his teammate inside. The house wasn't anything special. It had wooden floors, white colored walls, and a black ceiling. The three sat on blueish colored pillows around a small wooden table.

"Alright, let's talk about where are skills shine at. I'm decent at taijutsu and can produce quite a bit of fire jutsu. However, since Kakashi sensei is a jonin. It wouldn't be weird to assume he can use more than one element. I'm also skilled in kenjutsu." Suki explained.

"I'm really informed on genjutsu along with being able to properly throw shuriken and kunai. I'm okay at basic first aid." Sakura said.

"My skills vary. Hand to hand combat along with genjutsu are not my strong suit. However, I'm confident in my ability to produce ninjutsu. As far as the test goes, I think it will have something to do with us working as a team." Naruto said.

"Working as a team? Maybe we have to go find something or someone." Sakura suggested.

"I don't think so. We're a frontal assault team. So, we'll most likely perform a test that revolves around that." Suki pointed out.

"I think our objective will be to fight Kakashi and work as a team. Since we're genin, we can't be expected to defeat him. However, I think we'll be given an assignment that requires us to work as a team. We don't have enough information, just that their is a sixty-six percent chance we will fail. What I suggest is, you both should eat breakfast and since Kakashi was two hours late, instead of five, we get their at six forty-five. I think it's safe to assume that he plans on having us at our worst." Naruto said.

Suki nodded while Sakura was shocked to hear the logic behind Naruto's words. After he finished his explaination, Naruto left in a shunshin. "I think tomorrow is going to be interesting." Suki said.

Training Fielf #7 6:45 AM

Suki and Sakura arrived at six forty-five. Naruto was sitting on a post and reading a scroll. "Good morning, Naruto." Suki said with a smirk. Naruto gave a silent nod to his partner. The three waited for roughly fifteen minutes before Kakashi arrived.

"Good morning, how are you three doing?" asked the single eye ninja.

"Good morning, Kakashi sensei. We're ready for whatever test you give us." Sakura said.

"Great." Kakashi said with a single eye smile. He pulled two bells out of his pocket. "Your objective is simple. Get these two bells and you pass. If you fail to do so, you will fail and go back to the ninja academy." Kakashi cheerfully explained.

"Wait, their are only two bells." Sakura pointed out.

"Exactly. No matter what, one of you are going back to the academy. Now, come at me with the intent to kill. You have until lunch, begin." Kakashi said as both Suki and Sakura fled to the bushes while Naruto remained on the post.

"Um, Naruto? Aren't you going to hide? The test began." Kakashi said. Naruto remained silent as he returned his focus to the scroll. "I guess he's planning something." Kakashi said as he pulled out his make-out paradise book.

Inside the bushes, Suki was planning out how she would get the bell. "No matter what, I need to get the bell. I have to become a shinobi and get stronger. This will be the only way I can defeat him." Suki muttered as she got up and threw a barrage of kunai.

Kakashi saw this and drew a kunai to deflect the incoming projectiles. Suki then charged at the jonin by using the Uchiha Halo Dance taijutsu style. She went to deliver a punch to the masked jonin. Kakashi easily caught the fist. "Sorry, Suki. You'll need to do better than that." Kakashi said lazily.

"Hmph." Suki grunted as she swung her leg across to connect with Kakashi's rib cage. He saw this and used his free hand to catch her leg. Suki smirked and drew her other arm upwards to deliver an uppercut the Kakashi. Kakashi's eye went wide at the level of taijutsu Suki was displaying. He quickly brought his knee up to block.

"The bells are mine now!" Suki shouted as she nearly touched one of them before Kakashi gathered distance between them.

"Not bad. You certainly are different from the other students at the academy. I won't be able to read my book, now." Kakashi said.

Suki smirked before going through a series of hand seals. "Fire Release - Fireball Jutsu!" Suki shouted.

"Huh? Impossible, genin are supposed to be able to use elemental jutsu. It takes up too much chakra. There is no way." Kakashi as a massive ball of flame connected with him.

"What? Where did he go? To the left, right? Above me?" asked Suki.

"If I'm not above or on your side, it means I'm at the bottom." Kakashi said as he pulled Suki into the ground and left her head above for air. "Sorry. You can't ever let your guard down." Kakashi said with a one eye smile.

Sakura was watching. "Oh no! He got Suki!" Sakura said as she quickly charged and started throwing shuriken without any accuracy. Kakashi turned and looked unimpressed. "Why can't I hit him?" asked Sakura.

"Your emotions are cloud your judgment." Kakashi said as he appeared behind her.

"Huh? Whoa, so fast." Sakura thought as she received a slightly knock from Kakashi's punch. Sakura is silent flying towards the spot that Suki was at.

Naruto saw this and jumped off the post. The glare Naruto was giving Kakashi was enough to nearly make both Suki and Sakura pass out. "Universal Pull." Naruto muttered and two the masked ninja's surprise, his body was sent flying in Naruto's direction.

"What the hell? I can't stop myself." Kakashi though.

"Wind Release - Great Breakthrough." Naruto said as a massive gust of wind knocked the wind out of Kakashi. The jonin was on the ground and slowly began to pick himself up.

"Well, looks like the Rinnegan lives up to its name. I can't take Naruto lightly." Kakashi thought as he assumed his taijutsu stance. "Not bad. To think, the dead last of the academy was hiding such potential." Kakashi said.

Naruto looked at his sense and raised his hand once more. Kakashi saw this and immediatly prepared to be pulled in. "Almighty Push." Naruto said as Kakashi was sent flying away into the trees. Naruto looked emotionlessly as he began walking toward Suki. He transferred a bit of his chakra around the area and with Sakura's help, they pulled Suki out.

"NAruto, what the hell was that? You litterally sent sensei flying away." Suki said with a smirk.

"He isn't trying. Had he gone all out from the start, I probably wouldn't of had a chance to react. I realized the purpose of this test." Naruto said.

"What is it?" asked Sakura.

"Don't worry. You two just sit back. I'll go get the bells." Naruto said as he proceeded to head in Kakashi's direction.

"Sakura... You do know that one of us is going back to the academy, right?" Suki asked.

Sakura lowered her head in defeat. "Yeah... You will probably be given a bell since I didn't do anything." Sakura said.

Naruto stood before Kakashi. "Your jutsu are impressive. In fact, I don't think there is a single shinobi in this village who can counter your ninjutsu. However, you'll need more than a few tricks to defeat me." Kakashi said with his single eye smile.

Naruto made the hand seal of the dragon. "Lightning Release - Lightning Bind." Naruto said as a cage of lightning surronded Kakashi. "Give me the bells are else I'll pull you into the lightning." Naruto ordered.

Kakashi looked lazily. "So, you managed to capture me. What makes you think I'd throw my mission away?" asked Kakashi.

"So be it then." Naruto said as he made the Dog hand seal. "Water Release - Water Shuriken." Naruto said as multiple shuriken appeared out of the ground and charged at Kakashi. The masked ninja drew hia own kunai.

"Even if they're as tough as shuriken, I'll use my Mud wall." Kakashi thought but then realized that the shuriken aren't the problem, but the lightning that will run off the water. "Impressive. He completetly planned this out. However, I'm not known as the copycat ninja for nothing." Kakashi thought as he used the substitution jutsu to avoid the massive lightning strike.

Naruto saw that Kakashi vanished. "Fire Release - Fire Dragon Wall." Naruto said as he made the seal of the tiger. A large ring of fire appeared around the two ninja. "It's over, Kakashi sensei. Hand over your bells." Naruto said as he held his hand up.

Kakashi gave a single eye smile. "You're quite impressive for your age and level of skill. However, you'll find that I'm much harder to break." Kakashi said.

"Universal Pull." Naruto said but instead of using his hand, Naruto used his pointer and middle finger. In that moment, the two bells flew from Kakashi's pants and into the hands of Naruto. He then released his jutsu and walked over to his teammates. "Mission complete." Naruto said.

Kakashi walked over after sighing in defeat. "I need to start training again." Kakashi thought. "Well done, Naruto. Now tell me, who are you going to give the bell to? Seeing the obvious choice, are you going to give it to Suki since she was the only one to put in effort?" asked Kakashi.

Naruto looked at the man before tossing both bells to the girls. "Looks like I fail. Suki and Sakura will become genin while I go back to the academy." Naruto said.

"What?" asked both Suki and Sakura.

"Really? Your skills are impressive and you have the potential to become great. Why throw it away for your team?" asked Kakashi curiously.

"Sometimes you need to make a sacrifice for the sake of the mission. Those who follow the rules are trash, but those who abandon their teammates are worse than trash." Naruto said. Hearing this shocked Kakashi completetly.

"Well, then I guess that means you all pass. The point of this exercise was to see how well your teamwork would be. I'm very impressed. Starting tomorrow, team seven will begin taking their missions." Kakashi said as he vanished in a shunshin.

Sakura and Suki smiled and nodded. Naruto turned to the two girls. "Suki, you have great potential. Your fire jutsu will need some work, along with needing some other elements. Chakra control exercises will also help. Sakura, you were one of the smartest girls in the class. You lack the physical abilities to perform on the field. I'll help you both on increasing your levels. I'll see you tomorrow." Naruto said before he vanished in a shunshin.

Hokage's Office

"Alright, I'm glad you're all here. Please report." Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third hokage said. As he listened to the teams being reported, he was disappointed at most of the new genin teams not being able to make the cut. When it came time for Kakashi, Hiruzen nearly palced the folder in the pile of failures.

"Team seven consisting of Naruto Uzumaki, Suki Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. Pass." Kakashi said. Everyone in the room froze. To think Kakashi Hatake, the man who failed every squad before hand, passed his team.

"Excellent." Hiruzen said with a smile. Asuma and Kurenai declared their teams had also passed. "Good, it looks like we've got an interesting crop this year. Everyone but Kakashi, you're dismissed." Hiruzen said. The jonin's bowed before leaving.

Kakashi looked at the hokage lazily. "I guess you want more details?" asked Kakashi.

"Kakashi, do you know I grouped this particular squad together?" asked Hiruzen.

"Isn't it because Suki was the rookie of the year, with Sakura right behind her. Then Naruto was the dead last?" asked Kakashi in a sacrcastic tone.

Hiruzen chuckled. "Right. As you know, Suki has clearly been affected by Itachi. I'm worried that she will fall on the path of darkness if she isn't influenced. You're a user of the sharingan. It's no secret that an Uchiha usually falls victim to the curse of hatred when their legendary kekkei genkai is activated." Hiruzen said.

"So, you want me to focus on Suki?" asked the silver haired jonin.

"No, but I do want you to keep an eye on her. I've noticed she has become friends with Sakura. I'm hoping that their friendhsip will allow Suki to remain loyal to our village and not focus so much on the path of vengence." The hokage explained.

"I see. What about Naruto?" asked Kakashi as he took a more serious tone in his voice.

"It's no secret that Naruto is hated by this village. He's just like Suki, alone. While I do believe that Naruto will relate to Suki in regards to being alone, I want Naruto to have a friend. Even if it's only his team. Ever since he mysteriously received those eyes, the young obnoxious boy we all knew is gone. Please keep an eye out for him and really focus on the teamwork of the squad." Hiruzen said.

"I will. Besides, I owe that much to sensei." Kakashi said.

"Kakashi, you have two of Konoha's genin that show the most potential. Please, please don't let either of them walk down the path of darkness." Hiruzen said.

"You think Naruto would ever turn on the village?" asked Kakashi.

Hiruzen shook his head. "They say that when the Rinnegan surfaces on the earth, either the god of creation will bring peace, or the god of destruction will erase everything." Hiruzen said.

"Right." Kakashi said as he vanished in a shunshin.

Hiruzen turned around in his chair as he looked over at the village. "Minato... Kushina... I know that I let Naruto down. I promise, I'll do my best to restore the innocence of your son." Hiruzen said.
