Holt: Listen up, we are one man down due to Officer Ruzek getting shot.

Lansing: We wish him our best.

Terry: Burgess and Halstead are giving us updates throughout the day.

Holt: Dismissed.

3 months later

Adam: 3 months since I got hurt, now I'm fully recovered.

Erin: Jake fell for a lawyer, but I am suspicious about Brett that she has feelings for him.

Antonio: Thank god Amy broke up with Teddy, he was really boring.

Amy: Sad that Casey and Gabby broke up, because she fell for another man almost immediately.

Terry: Briefing room, now.

Briefing room

Holt: Peralta just told us about how he and Mills intend to host a Christmas party at their apartment.

Lansing: This is mandatory, we expect you all to attend.

Everyone agrees.

Holt: Dismissed.

Lansing: Thompson, Halstead, can I have a word with you.

Thompson and Jay follow Lansing.

Lansing: Halstead, I know that you might be developing feelings for Lindsay, but that could jeopardize your working relationship.

Jay: Erin's for work only.

Lansing: Boyle can spot the spark between you two, so it's possible. Thompson, I'm impressed by the man you've become, dedicated to the job, respecting the badge, working well, focusing on paperwork and listening to your superiors.

Thompson: Voight has an eye on me so I know what to do.

Lansing: Dang right Voight has an eye on you so do Holt, Terry and myself.

Thompson: Anything else?

Lansing: Actually yes. I need you to turn Hitchcock and Scully from lazy people to job working, dedicated, respecting, focused, listening people, can you do that?

Thompson: I can.

Lansing: Good work. Thank you. You can leave now.

Thompson leaves.

Later

Sophia: Baby, I have to be quick, Erin doesn't like me.

Jake: Doesn't matter what she thinks, I think you're beautiful.

Tony comes up.

Lansing: Tony, what are you doing up here?

Holt: I asked him up here.

Tony and Lansing go into Holt's office.

Holt: Listen up, we are one less because Erin Lindsay is on break outside of the precinct.

Lansing: Erin will be back shortly.

Holt: What I need you for, is until Lindsay comes back, keep an eye out for anyone on your working floor.

Tony: Got it, Captain.

Tony heads back on to the elevator.

Amy: Something going on?

Lansing: Detective Lindsay's on break for a few minutes. Sophia, don't you have to get back to work?

Sophia: Thanks for reminding me, Captain. Goodbye, Jake.

Jake: Bye, baby.

Jake pecks Sophia on the lips.

Charles: Jake, will you be worried that Erin will find out that your relationship is strong.

Jake: Some time, I'm more worried about Gabby and Antonio however.

Charles: Especially Gabby.

Antonio: You should be, Gabby gets crazy jealous whenever you're with Sophia.

Jake: I've seen that.

Charles: Same here.

Jake: I'll stay with Sophia.

Charles: And then go to Amy.

Jake: No.

Erin: Or break up with Sophia, begin dating Amy.

Antonio: Erin, Gabby also has feelings for him.

Erin: That would be easier.

The alarm goes off.

Radio: Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Battalion 25, structure fire.

Jake: That's Sophia's firm.

Lansing: Let's move!

All units arrive.

Jake: Sophia! Sophia!

Severide: Newhouse, let's go, Tony, Capp, go with Sloan.

Casey: Dawson, stick by Herrmann, Cruz, position the aerial, Mouch, with Sloan, Otis, with me.

Sloan: OK, Santiago, go to Severide and Newhouse, don't forget to mask up, Capp, Tony, Jeffords, Holt, Diaz, stand by me, Boyle, Mouch, get some ladders, Peralta, mask up, go with Casey and Otis, Diaz, help out Ambo. OK, move it!

Everyone goes to their assignments.

Boden: 51, let's get a line in there.

Jake: This better not be similar to Jeff.

Casey: Fire department, call out. Let's split up, Peralta, go with Otis.

Jake: Got it, Lieutenant.

Cuts to Squad's search.

Severide: Fire department, call out.

Amy: Fire department!

Cuts to Jake and Otis.

Otis: That your girl?

Jake: Yep, that's her.

Otis: Sophia, this is the 99th unit, police and fire are here.

Sophia is unconscious.

Jake: Let's bring her out.

Otis: Obviously, we gotta save lives.

Jake and Otis bring Sophia out and Severide, Newhouse and Casey follow with other victims.

Mills: Severe burns and not conscious.

Brett: Let's get her to Methodist.

Mills: Jake, let's go.

Jake: Copy that.

Jake gets into the back of the ambulance.

Jake: Come on, Sophia. Hang on for me.

Mills: Still not getting a pulse.

Jake: Sophia, come on!

Later they arrive at Brooklyn Methodist.

Mills: Latino woman, boyfriend's right here with us, she is not conscious.

Doctor: Try my best to get her up and running again.

Jake: Thank you.

At the 99th

Charles: Jake's at the hospital, waiting for news on Sophia, Squad 3 will be going for a ride soon.

Amy: Severide's gonna keep us posted.

Erin: I'm worried about Sophia, I may hate her but Jake hasn't been happy outside of her since he was with (tears up) me.

Amy: Erin, focus, Sophia could be fine, she could die, anything could happen.

Antonio: This could also be good news for Gabby.

Charles: She's staying with Sylvie for a while, but she and Mills could get back together.

Antonio: She does have feelings for Jake. But you do have a point, she and Mills were together in the past.

Jay: Or she and I could patch things up.

Charles: Another good point. Or he and Amy can finally get together.

Erin: Nope, I'm going there with Squad, giving him my hand.

At the hospital

Squad 3 arrives.

Severide: Hey, we heard.

Capp: We're sorry, man.

Jake: Thanks, guys.

Newhouse: Someone was following us.

Sloan: Yeah, and me.

Severide: Jake, something bad could happen if she dies, Dawson's been having her eye on you.

Jake: I get it, Gabby has the hots for me. I think that, if I wasn't with Sophia, I would be with her.

Tony: Doctor's coming.

Doctor: Family of Sophia Perez?

Jake: I'm the boyfriend, Jake Peralta, these are some co-workers of mine.

Doctor: Mr. Peralta, I'm sorry to say that your girlfriend didn't make it.

Severide: I'm sorry, man.

Jake: Get Gabby and Antonio here, now.

Erin arrives.

Erin: Jake, any updates.

Jake: She died in the fire.

Erin: I'm sorry.

Newhouse: I'll call Boden.

Sloan: I'll call Holt and Voight.

Capp: Makes sense, you need a lot of support.

The 99 arrives.

Holt: We were on our way here anyways.

Voight: I'm sorry, Jake.

Lansing: Hard to believe.

Mills: Just warning you, it isn't good.

Boden: He learned that from losing his father.

Casey: Someone lost a loved one.

Holt: I called Kevin.

Terry: And I called Sharon.

Antonio: I'm sorry, man.

Casey: Some advice, take some time off.

Holt: That's exactly what you need.

Lansing: I felt this way after I lost my wife and Casey felt this way after losing Hallie.

Gabby: Well, while I'm sorry Sophia died, I'm also very sad myself, outside of Antonio, Rosa and Amy, she was the last Latino person I could talk to.

Jake: That count is now down to 3.

Gabby: Sadly.

Holt: Peralta, I approve you to take some time off.

Boden: Same with you, Dawson.

Lansing: Both of you need to mourn. We'll get OFI on the case.

Jake: Thanks.

That night at Shaw's

Charles: Jake is going in a downward spiral since Sophia died.

Antonio: I can't even count how much Gabby refused to go anywhere.

Mills: Sophia's death hit them the hardest. What do you expect?

Charles: This did not happen with Shay. Why would it happen with Sophia?

Antonio: Sophia's a fellow Latino like Gabby and me.

Mills: And she was good with Jake.

Amy: Well, taking a shot with Jake will not be good for me right now.

Erin: Jake's in love with another woman, and I think we know who.

Amy: He and Gabby aren't here, it could be her.

Erin: Gabby just had relationships with Casey and Mills, adding a third to her list, won't be good for her.

Amy: Well, anything could happen.

Erin: That's true.

Terry: While sad news struck two of our own today, it to a lesser extent struck all of us as well, so Sophia is gone, but none of us are not. Nine-Nine!
