Predator: The Hunted.
Prologue: Shark Games.
It had been yet another of many boiling summer days, as the sweat poured from his body onto the sun-lounger where he lay, trying to relax in the shade of the pools umbrella's. As the sun glared down at him, still hidden in the shade, it did not help to be in the shadows by the pool, he could not escape the heat, it stabbed through the umbrella. Knowing the villa was not any better, hotter than hell, he thought that maybe all he should do is take the shade into the cool pool, so he stood up and walked with the sunshade and jumped into the pool.
Heaven, purely heaven as his sweat became a cloud fading into the pools cool water. The shade with the almost cold water, keeping him sane from all the heat attacking at his burning body, it could not get any better than this. Without a warning it happened, his heart jumping out of his chest, a loud scream and the water splashing from the pool, oh god, heaven became a sudden hell and the motion in the water moved towards him.
He had nowhere to run to, he had been seen and nothing could save him now and he knew what was coming, it was not only the sun that stabbed into him, now as he turned to look into the shallow end of the pool he felt them, on his neck him, his eyes opened wider.
"Daddy!" cried the hysterical little child, a girl, only upto his shoulder, but as he lay in the pool, she was at his height. All he wanted was peace, but at that moment, the short yet cute daughter of his had already jumped and was hanging from him, dragging him under the water. "Lets play shark attack, please, pleeeease..!" Almost hysterical, but she had her mothers beautiful emerald eyes, so how could he say no. As he reached to take hold of her, she dipped under the water, her brunette locks dancing in the water.
"Little devil child, you wanna play shark attack do you?" And with a smile he followed her under the shimmering water. Gargles, cute under water laughter...
Screams echoed. Quickly he dived into the air leaving the pool, looking into the direction of the screams, it was his daughter, at the steps of the pool, but he could not understand why she was screaming, now even more hysterical than only moment before. His beautiful daughter looked past him, pointing, and as he turned he felt the water convulse, pumping like a living being, and splashed as if something had crashed into the shallow waves of the small pool.
Was it the heat, rising from the pool, steam from the water in the heat of the sun, was he going crazy, there was something there, but not. He saw that the movement in the water, and then he saw the blue sparks from the wavering heat that was before him, and his beautiful Cherry, her screams as the shadow before became a dark figure in the bright suns light.
"Cherry, run, get out..." but before he could finish his warning he felt the sharp pain in his stomach, and all of a sudden the pool now glistened in the light, with a red shimmering glow that would span an eternity of forever, and then the screams faded, as did the suns glare. Now only the dim feeling of pain, then darkness, lost in darkness.. Nothing.
