Prologue
Mika knew full well what lay beyond the heavy iron door she stood before. She had heard tails – some pleasant, some awful. But despite all those tales, she wanted to see for herself. She pushed open the door, revealing a bright white light. She stepped into it, and when her eyes adjusted, she was amazed at what she saw: buildings stretched to the sky, pavement everywhere, few trees. She found it beautiful and frightening. She was in the Ningenkai – the Human World. And while she was scared, she wanted to explore. She hid her red cat ears and red cat tail, then stepped forward.
