Chapter Four: The Serpent Of Doom.

Screaming Amongst the Streets Of Newyork Could Be Heard as the Asgardian Creature That Looked Like an Orgre Called Ulik Caused Mayham With his Enchanted Axe.
"Ulik, You are not Welcome Here." Thor Stated, "Where Did a Troll Like you get Such an Asgardian Weapon?" Thor Wondered Aloud.
"I think you've Got More Pressing Concerns, Odinson." Ulik Said, Ignoring Thor's Question as they Battled.
He Had Caused more Destruction with The Weapon, "Hmph." Ulik Grunted Out, Thor Only Serving him a Pointed Look.
"What Damage Have you Done?" Thor Asked, Obviously Not wanting the Humans Below to Get Hurt at all, "You'll Find Out Soon Enough." Ulik Replied Before Raising the Axe Once again.
"Not Again." Thor Groaned, "Prepare for your Demise." Ulik Warned, Then a Pleased Smile Came upon the Ugly Creature's Face, "Long have I waited for this Day!" He Gleefully Said.
Then a Repulser Ray fired Right into Ulik, Knocking Him and his Axe Away From.Thor.
"Mind if I Crash The Party?" Tony Asked in his Iron man Suit, "Running a Scan On your Playmate Thor." He Quipped.
"One Second and i'll know Exactly Who we're looking at." Tony Muttered While Scanning Ulik, Thor Sighed, "He is Not Of Earth." Thor Said and added, "Even worse for you Magic is Involved."
"Call it What you want." Tony Replied, "To me it's Just Science I Haven't figured Out Yet."
More Growls Came From Ulik as he Still Tried to Attack Thor, In Which Both Him and Iron Man Dodged. "Have at thee, Prince of Asgard." Ulik Said But was Knocked away by Them Both.
"Home Run!" Tony Cheered as Thor actually Seriously Looked Around the Damage of the Town, "He is Down, There is a Much More Pressing Concern." Thor Said.
"I know, I know, Lost Asgardian Battle axe." Tony Said, "is this bad?" He asked.
Thor Only Said, "Very" In Return. "Ulik's arrival from the Underground is One thing." Thor Said, "His Use of that Weapon Reveals a Terrible Truth." Thor Added, "An Ancient Legend that Does not Bode well for me." Thor Finished.
Now Tony Was Skeptical, "Which Legend are you Referring to?" Tony Asked, Obviously Raising an Eyebrow behind his Mask.
Thor Sighed Again, "The Only One That has Ever Mattered to me, My Friend." Thor Said, "For On this Day, I Might be Destined to Perish." Thor Said Ominously.

Now they Were Flying Through new York City Desperately Trying to Find the Missing Weapon Ulik had Brought to Earth for this Legend about Thor.
"Where is it? we Must find Ulik's Weapon!" Thor Yelled, Stressed About this Whole Situation.
Tony Sighed, "Unfortunately it Stinks Of your Brand Of Science, Which is Keeping my Onbards from finding a Fix on it." Tony Said, "Tell me more about this Legend, Why is the Axe So Important?" Tony Asked.
"It cannot Remain Lost. if that Weapon Falls into the Wrong Hands, it Could Mean the End Of the World." Was the Only Thing Thor Said.
Tony Gave Up, "Okay. Fine, Let's Head back to the Tower." Tony Said, "I can rig Something that Will search better then us."
unbeknownst to them, Hydra Agents Somehow had Gotten Ahold of the Weapon, "Hydra Agents to Base." One Said, "Inform the Skull That We've Secured the Object."
the Hydra Agents Were then attacked by the Latevarian Hostiles, "Engaging Latevarian Hostiles." a Robotic Voice Said.

Now they were back at the Tower Awaiting for Tony's Scans To find the Weapon, Alisha Stood to the Side, if this Legend was important to her Friend Thor Then She Would help him find It.
While they were Waiting They Were Questioning Their Prisoner, Ulik.
"How's The Prisoner?" Steve asked Coming In, Tony Shrugged, "So Far the Ideal House Guest." He Replied, "Ulik is it? to What do we Owe the Pleasure." Tony Asked.
"Ask the Odinson." Ulik Said, "My Hatred to you Shows No bounds." He added, "So I came to See if the legend is True." He Said Scoring Another Point for the Legend.
Alisha Shook her head, "and Score another Point for this So–Called Legend." She Said, Her Blue Eyes Searching For Thor's Eyes Hoping he Would Tell her the Truth.
"Fortuanately, I'm the kind Of Guy Who Dosen't let his Friends Go so Easily. Let's Hit the Datacrux." Tony Said.

"This Waiting is Intolerable." Thor Groaned, Alisha Laid a Soft Hand on Thor's Shoulder to Calm Him, "Listen, I'm Sure Tony's Using Everything he's Got to find that Weapon." She Said.
"Thor, Your Life is Up to you, Not Some Legend." Steve Said, Thor Shook his head Once Again Not Listening.
"Each of us has a path Fated to us." Thor Said, "This is Mine. I Don't Expect you to believe." Thor Said.
"Sorry, I Don't Do well With Cryptic." Tony Said, Quite Sarcastically May I Add, "In the Meantime, I Think I've Localized the Specific Frequency that was causing so much interference When I tried to Scan Ulik." Tony Said.
Alisha Looked Up, "Tony? you Found it?" Alisha Asked, "You betcha." Tony Replied, "Now, Let's See Which Beach we're Storming today. Uh–Oh."
Steve and Alisha Both Looked at the Location, "That's The Latevarian Embassy." Steve Said, "So that Means.." Alisha was about to Say something before Thor Threw his Hammer at Tony's Computer Screen, Affectively Breaking it.
"Latveria. So Doom Possesses this Weapon?" Thor asked Furious, Tony Didn't Look Impressed With The God's Temper Tantrum. "I'm gonna Bill you for That." Tony Said Sarcastically as Thor Called his Hammer To him.
"Why do I think there's Something about this Legend Thor isn't Telling us?" Alisha Said, She Wasn't the Type to Judge On Legends Or Destiny's Considering She Still held onto a Secret that Could Possibly Harm the World As well.

"Von Doom, you have usurped an Artifact that is Rightfully mine." Red Skull Said through Communications to Doctor Doom, "It Would Seem you are Mistaken, "Iron Skull"." Doom Said Back, His Voice Obviously Showing Distaste for his New Name the Skull had Donned.
"The Axe–Hammer is Mine." Doom Said, "I Sent a Squadron of Agents to Retrieve it." Red Skull Replied Back, "They Became Victims of your accursed Doom Dogs."
"Yes a Tragedy." Doom Said Rolling his Eyes at red Skull for Him being Dramatic. "But the war For world Supremacy demands Casualties." Doom Said So Simply.
"This Weapon serves a Purpose that Only I can properly Utilize." Doom Said So Simply Once Again, Though There was Doubt he Could Do it Without the Avengers Interfering.
"And So I Shall." Doom Finished Off, Awaiting Red Skull's Reply, "We have both Heard the Legend of it's Purpose, But you are Tampering with forces you cannot Possibly Control." Red Skull Said, "Only Together Could We.."
red Skull was Cut Off Fiercely By Doom, "I am through Hearing your Pathetic Sales Pitch for this So–called Cabal, Skull. This Conversation.." Doom Paused to Break Off the Communication With Force, "...Is over." He Finished.
"And My Own Ascension has Begun." Doom Muttered looking at the Weapon.

And Now the Team was on the Avengejet, Planning to Enter the Latevarian Embassy With Carefulness.
"Time to Call the Play." Tony Stated, "I've Got Everyone's Task assigned." He Said.
"Please tell me It's Me Detonating an Explosive arrow right Under Doom's Throne." Hawkeye Said, "There is No time to Waste Archer." Thor Said Still Antsy to go and Retrieve the Weapon From Doom. "We Must Retrieve this Weapon before More Damage is Done."
"I'm Already Bored Here." Hulk Complained, Most Likely Ready to Go Out and Smash Doom.
"Don't Drag your Knuckles Yet Hulk. We Can't just Busy in." Tony Warned, Alisha Agreed With Him, "Iron Man's Right. Any Move on the Latevarian Embassy Has to be handled With a Sizeable degree of Delicacy." Alisha Said, Steve Agreed The Same.
"Falcon, Hawkeye, you're are Recon Team. Above and Below." Tony Said, "We need to get as much boots on the Ground Intel as Possi.." Tony Tried to Explain Before A Flash Of Blonde Hair and Green Rushed Him, Spinning Him Around too Much.
"Our Two Big Guns Just Flew the Coop." Falcon Said, Alisha Internally Groaned, this Just Made things Worse.

"Not a Bad Plan. this is No Game, Brute." Thor Said, "The Weapon is Our Primary Objective."
"Who Cares about that?" Hulk Replied, "I just Wanna Smash." and then Proceeded to Smash.

"Falcon, You're air Cover." Tony Advised a New Plan, "Got it." Falcon Replied Flying Off Fast, "What are the odds Doom's on Vacation?" Falcon Said into the Comms.
"Have We Ever Been That Lucky?" Steve asked, Alisha Shook her Head as She used her Blood Manipulation to create Wings to Carry her Instead Of Walking, "Nope." She Replied.
"This is Barton. I'm Under the Embassy." Hawkeye Reported, Sounds of Whirring From Doom's Machines Sounded, Seemingly Knowing Hawkeye was there Trespassing.
"Uh–Oh."

"I think That's the Last Of them." Thor Said, "So What's next? do we Just Go inside?" He Asked.
Hulk Shrugged, "Yeah. Find Me Something Else to hit. hm?" Some More Rumbling Sounded and then Doom's Voice Sounded as He Appeared.
"you dare Trespass on Latevarian Soil?" Doom asked, "Is That it?" Hulk Motioned to the Weapon Doom Wielded in his Hands.
Thor Nodded, "Yes." He Said, "It's Power Rivals That Of Mijolnir." He Said Then Confronted Doom.
"So you do Possess it. How Dare you Carry a Weapon of Asgard!" Thor Shouted at Doom, "You want it back? Come and Get it." Doom Taunted them.
Luckily Tony, Steve, Falcon, and Alisha Showed Up, "New Battle Plan Avengers." Tony Said Scanning Doom, "Doom's Power Levels are Suddenly off the Charts." Tony Said as he Tried to Catch the Flying Weapon but Missed Of Course.
"Missed, Falcon?" Tony Prompted, Alisha Flew Close to Steve and Tony, Luckily along With having Blood Manipulation as a Power She Also Knew Very Difficult and top Grade Martial Arts Skills so She Could Protect herself.
"I'm on it." Falcon Said and Raced To Catch the Weapon, but Doom had called the Weapon back to Him Catching it.
"How'd He do that? That's a Thor Trick." Falcon was Baffled Stopping and Turning around.
Thor Gasped, "What Enchantment Could this mortal despot Possess." Thor Accused, Alisha Shook her Head Pulling Over her Own Mask to Scan Over Doom and the Weapon.
"It's Not Enchantment, Thor. He's Modified it With Doomtech." Alisha Replied, "Modified Or not, It's True Purpose Remains." Thor Said.
Doom Only Smirked, "Indeed it Does." Doom then Raised the Axe Over his Head Slamming into the Ground Causing Major Damage to The Ground Of New York.
"you Dare not Tamper With Legends older then Human History." Thor Said, Doom Shrugged, "Too Late. that Which you fear Most is On it's Way." Doom Replied.
"Falcon, Recon." Tony Called Out, Falcon Flew Over to See What was up, "I Really Don't wanna Know What Thor Fears." He Muttered.
an Explosion Sounded as Civilians Screamed, as a Large Serpent Like Beast Was Summoned from the Ground Where Doom had Striked.
"Uh..." Alisha Muttered Kind Of Lost as She Looked at it, "That Would Be..." Tony Said Looking to Thor For an Answer.
"The Midgard Serpent. the End Of all things." Thor Said.

"Getting a Scan on Our New Playmate." Tony Said, "is it Just Me Or is this Thing Getting Bigger?" Alisha Asked, Flying Besides Tony.
Her Veins Her getting Redder, The Veins Leading up to her Eyes were Showing, "Alisha, You Can't Hold this Form For long." Hawkeye Said Through the Comms, "Not Before you Pass Out From Blood Loss." He Added.
She Shook him Off, "I'll be Fine, I've Learned to Prolong It." She Said Turning her Attention back to the Creature.
"Once Unleashed, the Serpent Will Increase in Size and Mass, Until it is Large Enough to Feast on the Earth itself." Thor Informed Them.
"Wait a Minute. He's Gonna Swallow the Entire Planet?" Falcon Said Shocked, "Isn't that what I Just said?" Thor Said Annoyed.
"This was Ulik's Plan all along, Wasn't it?" Steve Said, "How Does it Involve you?" Steve asked.
"I am the Only One Who can Defeat the Midgard Serpent." Thor Said, "At the Cost Of my Own life." he added.
"Come On Thor. it's Just another Big Lizard." Tony Said, "We've Got more Than Enough muscle to send it back to the Swamps." He added.
Hulk Decided to Join in, "Yeah we Do." He Said, "No Snake is gonna swallow Goldilocks While I'm around." He added Before Charging at the Serpent To Smash it.
"Hulk No!" Thor Called as the Serpent Roared and Flung Out Out of the way Into a Building, "Okay. I'd Like to Amend my Earlier Statement." Tony Said as the Serpent Hissed.
"You are mine, Serpent." Doom Said, Trying to Control the Serpent, it Roared at Him, "Doom is Your Master!" He Commanded.
The Serpent Only Roared and Knocked Doom Out Of it's Way.
"Did I miss anything?" Hawkeye asked as He Appeared, Seeing the Crowd Being Hectic and Filled With Scared Civilians.
"I'll take that as a Yes." Hawkeye Muttered.
"Out For a Few Minutes, and Things turn into a Disaster Movie." Hawkeye Said Sarcastically to Himself.
"Hawkeye, We need to get these Civilians to Safety." Falcon Said, Hawkeye Gave Falcon as Really? look.
"Falcon, Obviously we're Short A Big Gun. a Big Green one." Hawkeye Said Exasperated, "Go find Him. Bring Him Back ASAP." Tony Told Falcon.
"I'm on it." Falcon Then Flew Off to find Hulk.
"You Have Fought Well. If all that I am is to be Ended on this Day." Thor Said, Alisha Shook her Head, She Knew Fate's Could Be Changed.
"That's Not Exactly a Win by Avenger Standards, Is It?" She asked, her Tone may have Sounded Bored but Inside She was Worried for Thor.
"If I Must fall so the Serpent Falls, Then So Be it." Thor Said Before Taking Off, "Thor!" Tony Shouted.
"Soon you will be My Weapon, Beast." Doom Said Still Trying to Control the Serpent, "The Rest of the of the World will Bow Before Me!" Doom Shouted as Thor Finally Came Towards the Serpent.
"No Force On Earth can Contain the Serpent, Doom!" Thor Shouted Out Desperate, "We Shall See." Was Doom's Reply.
Yells, Another Explosion Sounded As Thor Strained Against the Serpent's Strength.
"Pretty Easy to Map Hulk's Trajectory." Falcon Said, Sirens Sounded in the Distance, "Up and At Em', Greenie, Come on, Big Guy." Falcon Tried to Rouse him.
Nothing, "Man, I am Not Giving you mouth to Mouth, Got it?" Falcon Said, Still Nothing, Hulk was Knocked Out Like a Light.
People Were Laughing as Falcon Sighed, "Okay Falc, Time to Prove it." Falcon Gave Himself a Little Pep Talk before Using his Falcon Technology to Lift the Hulk and Toss him into the Water behind them.
"You'd better Have a Really Good Reason For Doing That." Hulk Said as he Came up out Of the Water.

"I Know the Legend, and I'm the only one Who Can Turn it to my Advantage." Doom Argued, Thor Disagreed Doom's Point Though.
"No your the Only One Foolish Enough to think you can Control a Force you Don't Understand." Thor Said.
Alisha and Iron Man Stopped Their Bickering about The Legend Behind the Serpent, "You Two Can Argue Mythology Later." Alisha Started Out as Tony Finished Her Sentence.
"Right Now, There's The Issue Of an Enormous Lizard doing his Own Renovations on the Manhattan Skyline." Tony Said.
"Only I have the Power to tame The Serpent and Make it my Slave." Doom Said Not Listening to what they Just Said.
"Well That's a Great Plan." Alisha Said Sarcastically.
"And Impossible. No Mere Mortal Can Control." Thor Added.
More Screams as The Serpent Roared and Terrorized the Citizens Of New York.
"Thor, There's Gotta Be a Better Way here!" Tony Tried to Convince Thor But Once again He Didn't Listen.
"Only By Sacrificing myself to the Serpent Will the Earth be Saved." Thor Said, Tony Only Denied It Once More.
"No I Don't Accept That." Tony Said, "The Legend Cannot Be Denied." Thor Replied.
"This is No time For.." Tony Tried to Say Before Doom Attacked the Three Of them again.
"It is Doom's Destiny That Shall be Fulfilled Today." He Declared, Alisha Rolled Her Eyes, "Talk about power Hungry and Egotistical." She Said Sarcastically.
"Neat Trick." Tony Commented, "No Trick, Stark." Doom Replied, Waving the Axe Around.
"I Command This Weapon Now. and in Doing So, I will Fulfill my Promise to the World, To Rule With an Iron Hand." Doom Said, Alisha Had Stood Up Going Into What She Called Her Shadow Form, Glowing White Eyes And She Moved Fast Like a Shadow.
"You want an Iron Hand? I got Two." Tony Snarkily Retorted.
"You Cannot Possibly Fathom my Capacity To Rule." Doom Said, Attacking them Once More.
"From This Day Forward, There will Only Be One True..." Doom Was Thrown away by The Serpent Once More.
"Yikes." Shadow Muttered, Grinding Her Teeth Looking Over to Iron Man, Her Glowing White Eyes Showed No Emotions.
"Only One Way Out" Tony Said. "Re–Route Power For an Electroshock exo–Charge." Tony Said into his Suit.
after Getting Thrown into a Stray Cat Tony Groaned, "This is Humiliating." He Complained.
"It's Just you and i." Thor Said to The Creature but Was Picked up and Thrown into a Building, Glass Shattering.
"Consume Me and Spare Earth." Thor Offered his Life Weakly To the Serpent.
it Picked Thor Up Throwing him into the Air Opening his Mouth as Thor Started to Fall Down, Thor Closed his Eyes.
"I Enter Valhalla Proudly." He Said, Luckily Tony Flew and Caught him Before the Serpent Could Consume Thor.
Shadow Was Close by And Let Out a Sigh of Relief.
"How Dare you Interfere, The Legend Must be Fulfilled." Thor Said Angrily, "It's The Only way to Save This Planet." Thor Added.
"Sorry, Thor, I Don't Believe Anybody's Destiny is Automatically Chosen For them. Besides, These Age–Old Legends Never Mentioned the Avengers, Did They?" Tony Asked, Still Carrying Thor Throughout the Sky.
"No." Thor Replied.
"Then it's Time to Write a New One." Tony Said, Shadow Then Left To The Latevarian Embassy to Control What the Heck Ever Doom Caused.
"Listen, You going Another 10 Rounds With The Serpent Isn't Gonna Help." Tony Told Thor.
"We Just Need to get it Out of here." He Added, "What do you Say?" Tony Tried, Thor Thought For a Minute Before Answering.
"Whatever it Takes."
"Iron Man, are you Reading Me?" Steve Called Through the Comms, "Yeah, Cap, Where are you?" Tony Asked.
"We're at What's Left Of the Embassy." Steve Replied, "Doom's Back, and You Won't Believe What We're Seeing." Steve Said.
Doom Stood Atop of the Embassy Still Trying to Control the Serpent.
"This is the New World Order, Monster!" He Called Out, Another Roar, "Get Him Off Of There, Whatever it Takes." Tony Said.
"After What he Did to me, It'll be My Pleasure." Hulk Responded, "Your Interference is Most Unwelcome." Doom Said.
"Watch it!" Shadow Yelped.
"This is Madness." Thor Said, Tony Spoke Up, "I've Got an Idea." He Said, "How did Ulik Get here? Same as you, I'm Assuming?" Tony Asked.
"Not At All. Trolls Possess Knowledge of Hidden rifts That Connect Earth and The Asgardian Underworld." Thor Explained.
"Then The First thing we have to do is Find the Rift." Tony Stated, "I've Still Got Ulik's weird Energy Signal on File."
There were Sounds Of Tony's Technology Beeping, "And There it is! I think." Tony Exclaimed, "That's The Spot Right There, It's Like a Pinhole in the Fabric of Space–Time. it Needs a bigger Jolt of Power to Blow it Wide Open. Any Ideas?"
"Aye. Only One." Thor Replied, Thunder Rumbled Through the Sky as Thor's Thunder was that Jolt Of Power they Needed. "There it is. Ulik's Passage back to the Underworld." Thor Stated.
"Then Let's Make Good Use of it." Tony Said.

"Serpent, You Shall Become a Servant Of Doom. Now and Forever!" Doom Chanted, Steve Looked Up Exasperated.
"Think this Just Got Serious." Steve Stated, "Iron Man, The Situation has Reached a Crisis Point, What's Your Status?" Steve Said into Comms.
"Just Hang Tight." Tony Replied, "You hit him High, I'll Hit Him Low." Tony Told Thor, He Nodded, "Indeed. we Must Drive it to the Portal." He Said.
"Doom, This is Insane. Even for you." Steve Said, Shadow Dodged Another Attack, "He Ain't Gonna Listen." She warned.
"Let History be my Judge." Doom Said Completely Ignoring Shadow's Comment, "Told Ya So!" She Shouted.
Hawkeye Screamed, "It's Digging in." Steve Said, "Wherever your Wanting it to go, It's not Going." Shadow added.
"It's no Use. we need more Power." Tony Said, Falcon Came onto Comms In that Moment, "Heads up Guys, Incoming." Falcon Said.
"Falcon? Please tell me you.." Tony was Cut Off by Falcon, "I Found Him." He Said, "And He's Coming your way...Now!" Falcon Added.
"Ready for Round Two." Hulk Said, Slamming into The Serpent, It Roared Loudly Upon Contact.
"Pour it On." Shadow Said, "Doom you Need to Get Clear, Now." Steve Told Him But the Stubborn Man Refused, "Never! It's My Destiny." Doom Shouted, "No! Noo!" he Yelled as they were Sucked in the Portal as it Closed as well.
"It Worked. We've Done the Impossible." Thor Said Happily, "The Serpent's Threat Has Ended."
"Hey It's all in a Day's Work." Tony Said, "What about Doom?" Steve Asked, "I imagine He'll have his Hands Full in the Asgardian Underworld." Tony Said, "Indeed." Thor Agreed Laughing. "The Serpent Will be the Least of His Problems." Thor Added.
"Well, It Couldn't have Happened to a Nicer Dictator." Tony Retorted.
Sirens Wailed as the Damage to New York was Extensive, "Yikes. Someone had Better Call Damage Control." Hawkeye Said.
"I Mean, Unless You wanna Clean this up." Shaow Said Scaring him, "Woah!" Hawkeye Raised his Hands Up Defending Himself.
"Can I Use your Face as a Shovel?" He Asked, Shadow Shoved him as Tony Praised Falcon, "Nice Job." he Said.
"I think I'm getting the Hang Of this Whole Saving the World Thing." Falcon Replied, "That's What it's all about." Tony Said. "You're Not Just a House Guest at Avengers Tower." He Stated, "Speaking Of Which."

Back at the Tower, In the Cell, Ulik was There, "What? this Cannot be." The Troll Said Shocked, "Suprised Ulik?" Shadow Asked.
"I heard the Roar Of the Serpent. I Felt The Earth Tremble." Ulik Said, "If he is Gone, Then you Should Have Perished."
"How is this Possible?" Ulik was Shocked And Confused, "I Decided my Own Fate. and Odin Will Decided Yours in Asgard." Thor Said.
"Yeah. and Don't forget to Tell Dear Old Dad that When it Comes to an Avenger's Destiny, No One Decides it for us." Tony Stated.
Thor Couldn't agree More, "Indeed."
