Sofia : A Magical Camping Misadventure

Summary: Calista wants to go camping with her uncle, mother and Sofia before they have to go back home, they all reluctantly agreed and so they were now stuck in a cabin in the middle of the woods, in a sever thunderstorm. How will they cope?

After the whole Looking Back Glass event, Cedric and Cordelia's relationship has changed for the better, they no longer argued as much and Calista was just happy to be with her Uncle and Sofia more.

When their castle's remodeling were almost done, Cordelia told Calista that they were going to be going back home next week, and while Calista was excited to be back home, she couldn't help but feel a little sad, when she and Sofia were play checkers together the older girl notice her somber expression and decided to ask.

"What is the matter, Calista?" Sofia asked.

"Mummy and I are going to be going home soon and I am a little sad because I will miss my Uncle and you." Calista explained.

Sofia smiles sadly, "I will miss you too, I really had with Mr. Cedric teaching us those spells, especially the ones that can be used for things like camping."

Calista went silent for a moment, before saying out of the blue, "I want to go camping." catching Sofia off guard for a moment before saying.

"What?"

Calista then looks Sofia more directionally in the eyes and said "I want to go camping with you, Uncle Ceddy and Mummy."

Sofia thought about and then said, "Let's go ask your Mum and Uncle."

Calista smiles widely as she takes Sofia's hand and all but drags her to the Tower.

Both Cedric and Cordelia stare at the youngest girl who had just asked them that she wanted to go camping a bit surprised.

"Uncle Ceddy? Mummy?" Calista asked concern by the lack of responds.

Blinking and clearing his throat Cedric was the first to speak, "Calista I am not sure that camping is a good idea, I mean there is..." He started to say but trailed off when he saw the sad look in his niece's eyes.

He looks for his sister's help, she nods, clearing her throat ready to reject the idea, but then she made the mistake of looking into her daughters eyes and just like that she melts.

"A camping trip it is then, but I am booking a cabin, no way am I sleeping on the ground." Cordelia mutters, ignoring Cedric groaning but he soon stops when his niece and Sofia hug him.

"I am going to ask Mom and Day if I can go, I mean school will ending next week anyways and I already took my end of the year exams." Sofia said mostly to herself as she left the tower to go find her parents, leaving an anxious Cedric, chatty Cordelia writing in her small red book, while Calista was still snuggling into her Uncle's arms happy and excited to be going on an adventure with her family.

The day of their camping trip had Cedric and Cordelia bantering about how to load the bags, while Calista and Sofia just sat in the carriage waiting a bit until Calista stood up and turned to the back and said.

"Mummy, Uncle Ceddy, we are waiting!" she said.

"Of course Calista dear." Cordelia said, finally they got the bags loaded and soon enough both adults got in and gestured for the coachman to go.

The trip was a bit long and boring as Calista and Sofia slept for most of it, until Cedric woke them up.

"We are here." Cedric said smiling kindly, watching as both girls ran out of the carriage and were soon exploring the cabin which was a magical cabin that looked small on the outside, but was huge on the inside, it had 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a full kitchen and living room area and small deck that lead to a rather large lake.

Cedric smiles when he spots the girls playing a round of cards in the living room.

"Girls, I want you put those down for a moment and go unpack your bags please." Cedric said kindly with firm undertone.

"Yes Mr. Cedric, come Calista." Sofia said as she drags the whining girl away from the small pail that was magically cleaning itself up.

As he walks down the hall to one of the many bedroom, he spots Cordelia standing in front the mirror playing with her newly restored hair, waving her wand and manipulated the strands into various twist and buns, some of which had Cedric nearly in stitches as he tried to resist the urge to laugh.

"Using magic on your hair sister dear?" Cedric said a small smile on his face.

Cordelia jumped a bit startle as she was turns around half her hair up in a sort of bee hive style.

"Cedric! I was, I mean, I..." Cordelia stutters.

Cedric put a hand up for silence, as he said, "Just be careful, don't want to repeat history again do we?"

Cordelia nods, before putting her wand down carefully and manually fixing her hair only to wince a bit when it started to knot up, Cedric quickly steps in and with a quick and nimble fingers he had the knots gone and was helping smooth the hair out in long straight waves.

"Thank you." Cordelia said as she practically leans back onto her brother as he gently, but firmly brushes her hair.

"Don't mention it." Cedric mutters giving back the hairbrush to her, before leaving to go his room.

For the first 2 days everything was calm and they all had a lot of fun, going for hikes, fishing, making smores, telling scary stories and playing all sort of games.

But then on 3th day of the trip it start to rain heavily and which carried on to next day, for the most part everyone was handling all pretty well but then by day 5 the heavy rain turned into thunder and lighting and it didn't help that both Cedric and Cordelia started to get on each others nerves and would complain to each other about something the other did or didn't do, which Sofia and Calista didn't mind at first, but then evening Calista was starting to get really upset, as they tried to play a calm game of magical monopoly, but it ended up with Cordelia accusing Cedric of cheating, then they just started to scream at each other completely forgetting the girls that were sitting there watching them.

Sofia was concerned, but she was busy trying to calm an upset Calista, as the younger girl was trying very hard not to cry, but when the heated argument soon turned from yelling to wands, Calista had enough, got up and ran out of the cabin and into the sever thunderstorm.

"CALISTA! COME BACK!" Sofia shouted as she ran after the girl, the heavy rain making near impossible for her to see where they were as she continued to run after the distraught girl, only slip on to the muddy ground twisting her ankle badly, she let's out a scream of pain before knocking her head against a rock that had been hidden by the thick mud knocking her unconscious.

"SOFIA!" Calista shouted as she had heard the older girl cry out and went to help, she quickly finds the princess out cold a small puddle of blood pool around the nasty looking gash on her forehead.

Calista tried to wake the girl but didn't get any respond and then she looks around hoping to see the cabin near by only to have that hope dashed as she barely see anything in front of her the darken night sky only lighting up when a loud clash of thunder boomed overhead and followed by lighting.

Just then out of no where two bright lights were coming towards them, fearing the worst, Calista throws her body over Sofia's in hopes of protecting her, she waited for unimageable pain, but nothing happened and all she could here was the sounds of tires screeching on the ground as bright lights came to a stop in front of her, she stares in shock as doors open and two teenagers, a boy and a girl came out.

The two teens ran right over to them the girl kneeling before them gently check Sofia's pulse only for the girl to sigh in relief before shouting over her shoulder, "George call for a doctor or healer now!" the one called George grumbles, but goes back to the car to call for help, while the girl quickly rips off a piece of her skirt and started to press it onto the gash on Sofia's forehead to help stop the bleeding.

The girl then turn her attention back to Calista who was still laying protectively over Sofia's unconscious form, asking, "Are you already, kid? Are you hurt?"

Calista could only shake her head numbly as she just held on tighter.

"My name is Riley, what's yours?" The girl asked smiling kindly.

"Calista..." she whispers softly, only to tense up when she sees the boy coming back.

"I can't see to get through, let's get them in the car and bring them to Dad, he can get more information then we can." George said.

Riley nods and turns to Calista, "Kid, we need to get your sister looked at, she has a nasty looking cut on her head, may my brother pick her up please?"

Calista was hesitant, but then she looks at Sofia and decided to take a chance, she carefully removes herself, watching as George carefully picks Sofia and quickly walks over the car.

Riley reaches out a hand to help Calista up off the ground, again the girl was hesitant, but she could sense that these people were only trying to help so she takes the teen's hand and is guided to the car where she was put in the backseat, sitting next to George who was holding Sofia's head on his lap, her hip and arms buckled down with the seat belt, she was still unconscious.

Riley gets into the driver seat and soon enough they were off to the Hospital.

Meanwhile Cedric and Cordelia had finally calmed down enough to notice the lack of noise coming the girls so they looked and notice that the back door was wide open, a puddle of rain coming in, fearing the worse they both took off in different directions, Cedric was outside, while Cordelia was checking the house.

"CALISTA! SOFIA!" was shouted for the next few minutes, when they came back to together they were panicked, but then Cedric remembers a locator spell and with a quick wave of his wand, a path of light started to form so they quickly follow it, coming to a road where to their horror there was small puddle of blood, but no girls, the light continued onward, realizing that the girls were either kidnapped or picked up, they quickly teleported only for the light to have them land in front of a hospital.

Without any thought, they burst in, with Cedric and Cordelia shouting at the same time, "Where is my nieces and daughter!"

A nurse came out and asked them, "May I help you?"

"Did two girls come in here recently, a girl named Calista with similar looking hair like me and wearing a red cloak and a another girl named, Sofia wears a purple dress and amulet." Cedric said.

The nurse looks at them for a moment longer and then said, "I will get the doctor working at them, for now here is the paperwork that you need to fill out." She gives them a clipboard with a few piece of paper.

Cordelia takes the paperwork and quickly starts to fill out for her daughter, while Cedric just stares at his own set blankly before groaning, causing his sister to look at him curiously.

"What is the matter?" She asked.

"King Roland is going to have my head, once he finds out about this, he is going to throw me in the dungeon and throw away the key." Cedric said freaking out.

Cordelia puts the clipboard down and takes Cedric hands in her own as she said, "Look at me." causing Cedric to stare straight in her eyes.

"Good, now I want you to calm down and then once you have done that, I want you to get a hold of King and Queen, I will speak with them, while you wait and find out more about the girls."

Cedric took a few deep calming breaths, before reaching into his pocket and pulling a his two way mirror to his sister watching as Cordelia said King Roland's name and soon enough she was talking with the king about what had happened so far.

Meanwhile Cedric met with the doctor working on his niece and honorary niece and much his relief Calista was perfectly fine, just a bit shaken up, but the same couldn't be said for Sofia, she had a badly twisted ankle and cut to her head that required stitches, she had thankfully regained consciousness when she came in, but for now she was resting in shared room with Calista.

"May I see them." Cedric asked, just as Cordelia had hanged up with the King and Queen, whispering in his ear that they were on their way.

The doctor nods and leads the way for Cedric, Cordelia was going to meet with the King and Queen first, before coming to see her daughter.

When Cedric walked through the door, he was instantly smothered by a upset Calista who was sobbing and apologizing, while the man just sat down and comforted the distraught child.

Sofia watched all this through half lidded eyes, the pains med they gave her were a bit strong as she tried to fight off sleep, when she blinked, Cedric was standing at her bedside and Calista somehow ended up snuggling beside her.

"Mr. Cccedriccc." Sofia slurred tiredly, the man just smiles tiredly as he puts a hand on her forehead and said "Rest child, all will be clearer when you wake again.

The next time Sofia woke up she was greeted by her parents who happy to see that she was already, aside from having stitches and twisted ankle she wasn't any worse for ware, Cedric was thankfully reassured by Roland that what happened was an accident and that he forgave him, Cordelia just smiles knowingly at her brother, as she held her daughter close.

They had thanked George and Riley for helping their children and when offered a reward they declined and just said that they were just doing their duty.

Once Sofia was discharge from the hospital and back home, she was put to bed with her ankle propped on a pillow, Calista came with a bunch stuff followed by her Uncle and mother.

"What's all this?" Sofia asked curious.

"Well since we had to cut our camping trip short, we decide to have the rest of it here with you and we brought movies to watch and yummy food." Calista explained.

With that all the adults and kids spend the rest of the afternoon watching movies, eating yummy treats until they fell asleep.

The next day found Sofia in a wheelchair hugging Calista goodbye as Cedric did the same with Cordelia as they bide the farewell.

"Maybe next time I want to go camping we should just do it here." Calista suggested cheekily causing Sofia to chuckle as Cedric wince a bit hearing that, Cordelia just shakes her head amused, "I think we had enough talk about camping for one day." she said ushering her child into the carriage and waving goodbye for the final time.
