OH. Why hello there. Been quite a while since I've updated this story. I apologize in advance since I started the Knights at War story, and got caught up in all of the action and I haven't returned to this since. I'm also gonna take the week off since I've been going through some personal problems as of late so that would explain my minor inactivity on DeviantArt... I also wanna mention that there'll be another story coming out after my break so keep an eye out for that! Without further ado, enjoy this chapter!
The two were just walking out of slausens, hand-in-hand, as they shared a strawberry milkshake together.
"How'd you know to get me a strawberry milkshake, anyhow?"
Arnold smirked at her. "I guess you can call it a hunch? Or maybe my heart knew what your heart wanted."
"Awww. You're such a charmer!" Rhonda then giggled. "So, how's your head feeling, Arnold?"
"Eh, it still feels a little shaken but I feel a lot better around you." Arnold leaned in for a quick kiss on her cheek. Rhonda blushed. "Why uh- Gee I didn't know…" She then tried to find the words to describe how sweet he was.
Arnold only smiled as he looked up at the nighttime sky. "How about I walk you home now?"
"Lead the way… doll." Rhonda playfully put a finger on his cheek. Arnold only blushed as he linked his arm with hers.
"Tomorrow's Friday you know, any plans for tomorrow?" Arnold soon asked. "Aren't you gonna choose?" Rhonda smirked. "Oh wait, you're right." Arnold nervously laughed as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"I uh… I would ask if you'd like to play football, just you and me, but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to."
"Well, since it'll just be you and me, I suppose it wouldn't hurt, no?" Rhonda gave a cute smile. Arnold smiled back. "Great! And how about after, we go for a little pizza date?"
"You always think of the most perfect ideas, y'know?" Rhonda hugged Arnold. "I won't be thinking of anything else if you cut off my circulation!" Arnold laughed. "Is that so?" Rhonda smirked as she hugged Arnold very tightly.
Arnold only laughed as he hugged her back.
A Few Minutes Later
"Thanks for walking me home." Rhonda then hugged Arnold as she got on one leg. "My handsome buddy." She giggled. Arnold blushed as he hugged her.
"I'll see you tomorrow at school?"
"Like always." Arnold then smiled. "Great! Goodnight, Rhonda."
"Goodnight, buddy." She gave a quick kiss on his cheek before she headed inside. Arnold only touched the spot of the kiss as he had a goofy smile.
"Goodnight, my princess." Arnold whispered to himself before he started walking home.
"Goodnight, my football-head love." Rhonda whispered to herself before she even headed up to her room.
The Next Morning
It was morning time, and as the bright sun shined in Arnold's room, he only tossed and turned as he didn't want to wake up.
He soon woke up. Arnold sat up as he stretched. "If only I could get an extra hour of sleep." Arnold was thinking about the romantic dream he had about his raven-haired crush.
Arnold then looked at the sunny sky. He only smiled as he was ready to spend another day with his crush. Arnold got out of bed and he soon went to get dressed.
Over at The Lloyd's
Rhonda was already awake as she laid in bed, thinking of how adorable Arnold can be.
She lovingly sighed as she kept daydreaming of Arnold.
"The sooner I get up, the sooner I can go and see him!" Rhonda told herself as she got out of bed.
Arnold was soon outside, he met up with Gerald. "What's goin' on, man?"
"Hey, Gerald." They did their usual handshake.
"So, what's going on between you and Rhonda now?"
"Is that the first question you ask me in the morning?" Arnold asked, rather unamused. "I was only wondering. It's not often we see her spending time with anyone other than Nadine."
"Guess you're right."
As the two kept conversing with each other, Rhonda soon snuck up behind Arnold and hugged him from behind. "Morning, buddy!"
"Well If it isn't the most beautiful girl of all of P.S.188. Morning, Princess!"
"I think I'll leave you two alone." Gerald smirked as he walked away.
Arnold blushed as Rhonda was giving a flirty look. "Uh, why are you looking at me like that?"
Rhonda turned Arnold's head into facing her. "Oh, nothing… Maybe I just want a little smooch."
"A little wh-" Rhonda silenced Arnold with a passionate kiss as the two soon fell to the sidewalk.
The two separated shortly after. Rhonda yelped as she noticed what happened. Arnold was blushing furiously. "Uh, I… I… I'm extremely sorry, Arnold. I don't know what came over my head." Rhonda's blush grew more and more.
Rhonda immediately got up and helped Arnold to his feet. Rhonda looked away from him as she felt embarrassed by what she did.
"You ok, Rhonda?" She shook her head. "How do you think I feel? All I wanted was a little kiss and I- I said that out loud didn't I?" Arnold merely nodded. "UGH. I can't even find the right words to describe how embarrassed I feel! I-"
Arnold put an arm over her as he caressed her cheek. "Hey, don't be upset about it. If it helps, I didn't mind that kiss." Arnold gave a comforting smile. Rhonda looked over at him. She shedded a small smile. "Thanks, Arnold. You always know how to cheer me up." She hugged Arnold.
"C'mon. Let's get to school or we'll be late." She nodded.
Later
The two were outside of Mr. Simmons classroom when they saw a little piece of paper outside the room.
"Special announcement today. What could this be?" Arnold looked over at Rhonda. She only shrugged as the two entered the classroom.
Shortly after, Mr. Simmons came in.
"Good Morning, class!"
"Morning, Mr. Simmons." Most of the class replied.
"I know most of you must've seen the little paper outside of the classroom. Am I correct?" Some of the class nodded and answered. "Good. So, the special announcement is… the school will be hosting a spring dance in two weeks! It'll be on a Friday. Isn't that exciting?"
*Crickets*
The class didn't reply. Mr. Simmons cleared his throat. "Oh-kayyy. So, Principal Wartz has also elected to hold a little contest for the best dancers on the floor!"
"I wonder how good Arnold can dance?" Rhonda thought.
"The school has decided to set everything up so we don't have to add any additional responsibility to our students."
"I wonder whether Rhonda would like to be my date to the dance." Arnold asked himself.
"Even if you don't like to dance, it's also a great opportunity to socialize with other students there!" That finally caught the attention of the class.
"We'll talk more about it later. Right now, I want you guys to pull out your history books because I want you guys to work on something a little different today. You can either work with partners or work alone, however you choose."
Arnold soon smiled as he looked over at his raven-haired crush. Rhonda looked at Arnold as she played with her hair as she slightly stuck her tongue out.
"Alright, I'll be giving you guys a minute to choose your partners. Go!"
As the class chose their selected partners, Arnold already knew who he wanted as his partner. Arnold sat down next to Rhonda as she gave a flirty look at him. "Why, hey there, handsome." She winked afterward. Arnold only blushed as he smiled.
"Are we all settled down now? Good! Now, I want you guys to…" Mr. Simmons continued to explain what he wanted the class to work on.
A Few Hours Later
It was near the bell for recess, and as the class chatted away, Arnold and Rhonda were working together on their assignments while also sharing laughs with one another. One specific question that lingered in their minds was, would they go out with one another to the spring dance as a couple?
That does for this chapter! I'll see y'all soon!
