It was a beautiful warm evening and the sun was just setting. The sky was enchanted with purple, red, orange and yellow swirls of color. The breeze blew gently, whispering faint songs to the sky. The leaves from the trees fell silently to the ground as the others swayed to the slow steady rythm of the wind.
This was October.
This was the month that Draco Malfoy adored. He couldn't explain it. It was like an addiction. He could never get enough of it. If possible, he would love for everyday to be October. The soft breezes, warm days, and of course, the age old tradition of Halloween.
Draco loved Halloween almost as much as he loved Christmas. He was always fascinated by many creatures and places created in fantasy worlds. His favorite creature of all though, were wizards. He always wished he could be a wizard, growing up. Every Halloween he would buy a pointy hat and a robe and make a wand from a stick he found outside. However, he was much to old for all of that now.
Draco Malfoy was 17 years of birth and he was a handsome young man. Inheriting many wonderful traits from both his parents. He had his fathers shimmering silver eyes and both his mother and fathers hair. His hair was so fair, it was almost white. He had milkwhite skin and aristocratic features. Many people said he was the spitting image of his father.
Looking at his house from afar, Draco realized that he really was going to miss this old house. It still looked fairly new, even though more than 3 generations of Malfoys had lived in it. Draco had spent his whole life living in this house and he had alot of good memories. Although, with good memories comes bad ones too. His father, Lucius Malfoy, had died in that house. He was shot when his boss had found out that Lucius had betrayed him. His boss had threatened to kill Draco, his mother Narcissa, and his sister Penelope, but the police had stopped him before he could do anything.
His mother and sister looked nearly identical. Though his mother was 36 years old, she was still as beautiful as she was when she had given birth to Draco. It was amazing how she had managed to retain her beauty for 17 long years. Penelope was only 13 but she was equally as beautiful. She had the same long flowing hair as her mothers, but she had sparkling sea green eyes.
"Draco, we have to leave now sweetie." He heard the familiar voice of his mother call out to him. He sighed and looked over to his car where his mother was standing with Penelope. They both had a look of sadness on their face.
"Just a second mother."
As he turned his head to look back at the house, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. Someone was running towards him. He turned his head in the opposite direction of his mother only to see that it was Pansy Parkinson. Draco smiled as he watched her stop in front of him. She wrapped her arms around his waist and sobbed into his shoulder.
Draco didn't really know how to comfort someone who was crying. He put his arms around her and stroked her back in what he hoped was a soothing manner. Finally her crying decreased and she pulled her head away from Draco's shoulder to look up at him. She smiled softly at him as she sniffled a few times.
Pansy was like another sister to Draco. She had always stuck with him through thick and thin as he had done for her. They had known eachother since they were children, seeing as their parents used to be friends also. Draco had wiped away a few tears that fell from her eyes.
"Pansy dear, don't cry." Draco told her as his hands fell to his side. Pansy looked at him confused.
"Aren't you sad? You're leaving the only home you've ever known and I'm not going with you! We might never see eachother again!"
"Of course I'm sad, but I need to be strong for Penelope right now. She looks up to me, you know." He smirked. "Besides, we'll keep in touch. I'll call you as soon as we get to our new house, okay?" Pansy nodded and looked over Draco's shoulder to see Penelope sticking her head out of the window.
"DRACO! WE NEED TO LEAVE!" She yelled, flapping her arms around.
Draco waved his hand dismissively. He looked down at Pansy and smiled. He was going to miss this girl. He was going to miss her enthusiastic and guile ways. He was also gonna miss having someone to talk to. He had confided in only Pansy and trusted her with his life.
Slowly, Draco put his arms around Pansy to embrace her once more before his departure. She sniffled again, and Draco knew she had started crying again. He rubbed her back softly and started to pull away. Before he turned around to leave, he heard Pansy whisper something.
"Find a guy who will treat you right."
Draco had only told Pansy about his sexuality. She was ecstatic when he told her, saying "This is so cool! We can go guy hunting together!" and "I knew it! I can tell these thing right away!" He didn't doubt her though. She always could tell if someone was gay or not. Draco nodded at her and made his way over to his car, opening the passenger's side door. He sat down in the seat and closed the door. As he strapped himself in, his mother started the engine. He looked at the rear-view mirror and saw Pansy crying again.
Smiling sadly, he watched her as they drove away until she was completely out of sight. He sighed and placed his hands in his lap as he looked out the window. In the back, he heard his sister start up her CD player and started singing. Penelope had a beautiful voice, but hearing too much of it tended to get quite annoying.
'This is going to be one long ride.'

AN: Well, there's the first chapter! I know it sucked, but I had to write this story, no matter how bad it is, or else I would have exploded! I know we haven't seen any Harry yet, but he will probably be in the next chapter. I'm going to make Pansy nice in this story, unless someone tries to hurt Draco. Then she shall be mean to that person!
Please review! Flame if you want, I don't care, it doesn't affect me.
