AN: this story is dark with a female Hary as its main character. this is my first attempt at a fic like this, and luckily I have the help of my best co-writer Courtney! this fic does feature quite a few posters I made myself, and if you'd like to see them head over to AO3. unlike in the past We Three witches will not suffer from this fic being started. and I don't know if I mentioned but for any of my regular readers all other fics besides We Three Witches and this one are on hiatus, again.

I hate to keep doing that but seriously every time I feel like life is going good for me to get up a stable schedule something comes up, a pet dies, a family member dies, I get seriously ill, my mother gets seriously ill. and then I'm just not in the headspace to keep up with 4 or 5 stories and any schedule I've made falls apart what makes it worse is that I have ADHD and its really hard to get things done if I don't go by a schedule. anyway enough of my problem dumping. this is my latest project I really hope you like it! this isn't the first chapter, its the prologue and set way in the future, the actual story starts when Lilith is young and be warned there ARE mentions of child abuse SA and more. if you can't deal with that please don't read this story.

for those of you that are okay with that welcome! and get comfy. this is a roller coaster and Courtney and I determine how many times you're going to go for a loop!

The Rise of Mercy

Lilith's POV

What makes a villain evil? What makes a hero good? Why are people so determined to see the world in black and white, forsaking the numerous shades of grey between the two?

I stared down coldly at the pathetic excuse for a wizard at my feet, really, what did he hope to accomplish by doing this? What agenda was he pushing?

Sadly whose agenda was glaringly obvious, even without that hated medallion around his neck that proclaimed for all the world to see what order he belonged to. 'The Order of The Phoenix'. I thought in disgust.

"You'll never win! Dumbledore will defeat you, and then you'll pay! You'll pay for everything you did, traitor!" He shouted hatefully. I allowed a small amused smile to grace my lips as my piercing green eyes raked over his ragged form, even more dingy than he looked in school.

I let a peal of laughter pass my lips just to unnerve him, he always did hate it when I laughed. "Oh Ronald, tsk tsk, you never learn do you? Dumbledore is nothing but a miserable old fool throwing a tantrum, can't you see? My father and I have already won."

The others in the room laughed as well.

'They can be such sheep at times. Of course there's nothing I can do about that. I am the Dark Lord Voldemort's daughter to them, their Dark Princess, Lady Mercy, they believe this is the deference I desire'' Looking at the wizard at my feet I smirked. "Do with him what you will, then take him to the twins. They can decide his fate." I watched in vicious delight as Ronald paled as my words sank in. "He is their brother after all," I drawled. If anything the pathetic mass paled further, making his freckles stand out like red pock marks across his face.

"He's not your real father, you know." Ronald spat, already knowing what his fate would be, or not. 'The twins can get… creative, when they want to.' My eyes darkened as I gazed at him like a particularly nasty little bug.

~The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.~ I hissed.

With that I turned and left the dungeons, thinking back on how far I'd gotten, where I'd started still baffled me sometimes. It was astonishing to realise that had Uncle Vernon never tried to kill Hope, I would have probably turned out exactly like Ronald Weasley,

nothing more than a pathetic pawn, eagerly dancing to Dumbledore's tune. A small giggle left my lips. Vernon Dursley must be rolling in his unmarked grave knowing that the lesson he taught me all those years ago.

One he hoped would scare and demoralise me, was actually the making of me. That was the day weak little eight year old Lilith Primrose Potter had the veil removed from her naive eyes that day. From her ashes the true me, Mercy had risen.

I was just about to summon a house elf when a familiar aura wrapped itself around me. I turned, grinning "Hello daddy-cat!" I said happily.

" Must you insist on calling me that accursed nickname? Bellatrix has started to use it and when I threatened to Crucio her for it she threatened to defect to your faction!" He complained.

I snorted. " Of course I do! You're my dad now, and your Animagus is a cute kitty cat!"

"I am most certainly not a 'cute kitty cat' I am a black panther, thank you very much."

"Same difference."

" I don't know how your fiancé deals with you."

"Carefully, and with great caution." My beloved said from behind me with an amused tone, of course I had felt him walk into the room.

"Dragon, stop being so silly," I said while looking at him over my shoulder.. He smirked and looked at Tom.

"My father is looking for you, sir. The Auror's fucked up, we warned them about a High Risk weeks ago, and they didn't follow up. Luckily one of the Snatchers had put monitoring charms up, the child was just recovered and is in the healing wing of the orphanage. He's heading to check on her then to her house to deal with the parents." Tom scowled and nodded.

"I'll go as well."

I knew the child Draco was talking about, and was personally invested in her case. She reminded me a lot of myself and my situation before I broke free of my binds.

The two looked at me and nodded. Knowing better than to argue with me.

"Try to leave the house standing this time." Dad huffed.

I grinned wickedly. "Only if the girl wants me too." After all, I'd wished many times during my torturous childhood that someone had come to rescue me, burning down the house that was my prison in the process.

At that moment Barty burst through the doors, out of breath and heaving. "Dumbledore's … Orphanage…. Fire…Taking kids…Pretending to be us." he wheezed

My blood ran cold in an instant. "Repeat that coherently and quickly!" I demanded.

Barty sucked in a large breath before repeating himself. "Dumbledore and his order are attacking the orphanage! They're in two groups, one pretending to be death eaters —Bella has already checked that none of ours are actually there—and another group pretending to be the 'saviours.'

"Lady Flint was volunteering today and sent me a patronus, the group pretending to be the saviours are trying to take the children. The Volunteers are trying to fend both groups off. One nurse was wounded before she locked down the healing wing. That's all I know." all this was said in a rush however I was already moving towards the Floo before he finished speaking.

Dumbledore would die slowly and painfully for this. I was Not going to let those innocent children be caught in the middle of this war.

The Order was about to learn exactly why many would sooner anger my father than they would me. My title may be Lady Mercy, but once angered, there was only one mercy I would bestow. The only kind scum deserved.

'They are attacking my orphanage, for that the only mercy they shall receive is death.'`
