Chapter 1
Chanelle Mackenzie Lillian Potter gazed at her reflection in her movie star sized mirror, shaped like a heart with light-bulbs all around. A pretty girl (who looked just like her mother) sat on a pink pouf, wearing a brand new deep blue dress which was floor length and was a halter. Her long dark red hair, inherited from her paternal grandmother, God rest her soul, was up in a high ponytail and the ponytail was in a riot of curls that reached just below her shoulders. Her almond shaped emerald green eyes, courtesy of her father and paternal grandfather, were outlined in black kohl and her lids were a shimmering smoky grey. Her bangs swept over the top of her perfectly shaped eyebrows. On her feet were silk high heeled sandals, dyed the exact shade of her dress and on her bed, was a stole that matched the dress. Her lips were a ruby red and her cheeks had a faint trace of blush on them. Her manicured nails and pedicured toenails were a shimmering silver, and she wore a silver, heart shaped locket with a 'C' engraved on the front, and her family picture in one of the compartments. The other held a photo of herself and three best friends at school, Orlena Narcissa Persephone Malfoy, Katrina Alice Roselyn Longbottom and Maria Bernadette Helen Weasley. After fastening a delicate silver watch on her left wrist, wrapping her stole around her shoulders and collecting her purse, which matched her dress, she left her bedroom. Her father's secretary, Eloise Midgen, stood outside the door, wearing a crisp white suit, her shoulder-length honey blonde hair loose, and her lips painted a dark brown.
"You ready, Nell?" Lois asked with a small smile, indicating the long, winding marble staircase. They were going to head downstairs to Nell's leaving party. The next day, she left for her first day at the Auror Academy, the most coveted place to study to become an Auror. Her father, uncle, and many of their friends had studied there, and she was as well. Lena was studying under the wing of her mother as well as Nell's, to become a Healer at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Maria was studying to become a Spell Creator in the Ministry of Magic with her mother and Kat was going to be a part time assistant in the greenhouses at Hogwarts as well as an author of Herbology books.
Nell nodded at Lois and with a loud crack, both Apparated next to her parents who were waiting for them, along with their guard.
"Ah, right on schedule, Nell." Harry James Potter told his 20-year-old daughter with a boyish grin. His jet-black hair was as messy as always, and his emerald green eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. He was dressed in a classic black and white tuxedo, and wore no glasses, unlike his Hogwarts days. Her mother, Ginevra Molly Weasley-Potter, stood in a sweeping white ball gown, held up with thin spaghetti straps, with white stilettos and a white stole. Her fiery red hair, brighter than her daughter's, was up in an elegant chignon, and she wore dangling diamond earrings set in silver. A fine silver chain held a single diamond at her neck. Her cinnamon eyes were outlined in black kohl, and her lips were coated in clear, glittery lip-gloss. Her nails sported French manicures, and two rings sat on her left ring finger. One was a plain gold band, and the other was a white gold ring with one sapphire, her ayurvedic birthstone.
"Ready, everyone?" she asked the group behind her. Their bodyguards nodded, dressed in black suits and wearing black sunglasses. Nell's own bodyguards, Dennis Creevey and Euan Abercrombie, took their places at each of Nell's sides as she strode out, a bright smile on her face.
